“What?” Shawna screamed. She had expected Jayson and her to be paired or even if she was not paired with him. At least if it was someone else, she could just bribe the person or let it be.
But then it was this girl. The girl that she hates with passion right from the time they met.
“And what is the problem, Miss Shawna?” The teacher asked.
“Erm.. Nothing actually.” She said and brought her gaze down to her table. She was boiling in anger, her insides were so hot that she could blow anytime.
“Jake and Maureen.”
“Jace and Lisa.”
“Michael and Shawna.”
“Ellie and Mark.”
The teacher continued calling their names and those they were paired with.
The sheets for the practical are going to be sent to you.
“You have a week to do it and submit.” Teacher said.
“Have a nice day.” She said and left.

“Hey, I guess we were paired.” Mark said. Ellie looked up to him.
“Yeah.” Ellie replied.
“Will you come over to my dorm or yours?.” He asked.
“She is not coming over to your dorm.” They heard a masculine voice say. They turned and saw Jake sitting on a desk beside them. She smiled. Mark looked from Jake to Ellie and saw them looking at each other.
‘is there a relationship between these two?’ He thought.
“She is my partner and she will be the one to decide that.” Mark said, almost in anger. He was one of those big boys who did not like the J stars and also whenever they are doing any of the sports, he was always their opponent. He tried several ways to break them up in the past but the trust between these guys was so strong. In general, he was jealous of them. They top the entire class and have won several awards for the school both international and local.
“Really?” Jake asked and raised an eyebrow at Ellie.
“Hmm, I think mine is okay.” Ellie said.
“I won't let you influence her in any way.” Mark said.
“I am not influencing her in any way, just that don’t you think it is wrong for a lady to come to a dorm where all guys stay in.” Jake asked.
Mark looked at him.
“What are you insinuating?” He asked.
“Nothing actually, just that, she would not come over to your dorm.” Jake said and smiled.
“Right, Ellie?” He asked.
“Yes.” Ellie said.
“Okay then, yours is final.” Mark said.
“And before I forget, name of dorm?” He asked.
“Emerald dormitory.” She said.
“Okay then, I stay in the Sapphire dorm.” He said.
“Since tomorrow is Saturday, I will come and we will discuss the details.” He said and left them while Jake stared at his retreating body.
Jake brought his gaze back to Ellie.
“If there is anything you don’t understand or would need an explanation for. I am always available.” He said and smiled.
“Thank you.” She said.
“It is nothing.”
“Hmm, Ellie.” She heard someone call her.

Aria could not believe her ears. Jake was paired with her roommate and here he was sitting and talking to someone who was paired with another.
‘What is their relationship?’ She thought.
‘When did they become so close to each other?’
She sighed and stood up. She walked over to them. Maybe this time, she will be a close view of him.
“Ohh, Aria, it is you.” Ellie said.
Aria turned her gaze from Ellie to Jake.
“Seems you are busy, I will take my leave now.” Jake said and stood up.
“Hmm, you don’t need to go.” Aria said shyly.
Ellie looked up to see Aria behind and raised her eyebrows in question. Jake looked at her also.
“Oh, my bad, I am Aria by the way.” She introduced and Jake smiled.
“Guess you already know me.” He said.
“Jake, come over here.” Jasper called him.
“Gotta go, bye.” He said and waved his hands.
Aria was saddened but she made sure it was not shown in her feature. She was a little bit happy. At least, she mustered up courage and introduced herself. He knows her now.
She smiled. Ellie was still looking at her.
‘Why is she smiling like that?’ Ellie thought.
‘Wait, is she in love with in him or what?’

Aria kept looking at him while he was talking to his friends.

“Hi, Shawna.” The fuming Shawna looked up to see none other than a guy who wears spectacle.
Her gaze made him cringe in fear. She was fuming in anger and rage.
“We.. We were paired as a group.” The guy stuttered.
“I know.” She replied gruffly.
“Hmm, when are you coming over to my place?” He asked.
“What?” She yelled and looked at him. If not for the laws of the school, she would have landed a slap on his chubby cheeks.
“I-I come over to your place?” She asked.
“So ridiculous.” Tessy added.
“I-I am s-sorry.” The boy apologised.
“Leave, I will send a junior to come call you over to my place tomorrow.” She said. As he was about to go,
“What dorm do you stay in?” She asked.
“Silver dorm.” He replied.
“You can take your leave.” She said and looked at a direction. She narrowed her eyes.
‘And why is she still sitting there?’ She thought.
“Don’t tell me she wants him to come over to meet her?’ She thought and smirked.
‘I know Jayson would never do something like that, he has an ego to protect and more so someone like her.’
‘Wait, which family did they come from?’ She thought.
‘How come it never crossed mind?” She smiled.
“Mr. Ralph said that they were admitted on scholarship.”
“Does that means that they are not from…’
“Shawna.” Tessy said bringing her out of her thoughts.
“What?!” Shawna shouted in anger.
“Let's go.” Tessy said.
Shawna too a quick glance at Elsa before standing up and packing her books and things she used.
As they got to the exit of the class, she stopped and looked at the both of them, Jayson and Elsa. She hissed out and left with her other friends.
