Bang, bang, bang.....
Lora could hear the sounds of gun shots in the air, followed by some voices, it seemed like the mansion is under attack, she jumped out of her bed, looked at the time on her cell phone.
“It's 3am, what is going on, Is the mansion under attack?” She asked herself, as she hid behind her room curtain, trying to peak outside to see what is going on.
The mansion is really under attack, she could see some of the guard’s exchanging gun fire with some unknown gun men.
Lora slowly opened her door and ran towards Grandma Rosa’s room, she have not seen her after their first meeting when she welcomed her.
She bends from time to time in other not to be hit by a bullet, she could hear her dad’s voice, as he issued commands to his men.
Lora got to her grandma’s room, only to see that the door to her room is wide open, she listened if she could hear any sound but heard none.
She quietly walked into the room, and was shocked to see her grandma on the floor close to her window.
She has been hit by a bullet on her shoulder and has lost a lot of blood.
“Grandma Rosa...” Lora called out, as she bent over and lifted her grandma’s head onto her laps, she quickly took off her night robe and pressed the part of her shoulder where she bleed from.
“Grandma Rosa...” she called again, shaking her head a little, feeling afraid of what might happen to her grandma.
“Lora sweetie...” Grandma Rosa called out her name, her voice sounding so fent.
“Grandma...” Lora cried, not knowing what to do, as the sound of gun shots filled the air.
“I’m so sorry dear, I have done wrong by you and your Mama....” Grandma Rosa said, sounding very feint.
“Grandma...” Lora said not knowing what to say, as tears poured from her eyes to her cheeks.
“Listen to me child, your Mama needs you, you have to find a way to get to her.” Grandma Rosa said, ignoring Lora’s tears.
“Here, take this.” She continued, handing her a card, which was stained with blood already. “You have to call the number on that card, he will lead you to your Mama, that's why I called you back home, I didn't know your Papa want to marry you off.” She said and stopped to catch her breath.
“Grandma Rosa...” Lora cried, as she still does not know what to do, she can't possibly go to look for help, because of the gun fire outside, neither did she know how to help her grandma, who is obviously bleeding out.
“I’m sorry sweetie, please stay strong and take care of yourself.” Grandma Rosa said again, sounding very fent.
Lora bent over her crying and shaking her body, she tried to keep her awake but her grandma is loosing it, she just stared at Lora with her eyes wide open.
Lora can see the pain in her eyes, but she could do nothing but cry...
Few minutes later, she heard her Papa’s voice, she did not know when he got there. He lifted Grandma Rosa off her laps, hugging her tight, she could tell from her Papa’s reactions that her grandma is gone.
Lora tried to stand up, but fell on her butts to the floor because her legs could not carry her body, or so she thinks, she just sat there, on the floor, watching her Papa cry over her grandma.
“Don Pedro...” Lucio shouted, holding Grandma Rosa’s body up.
“What! Don Pedro? What has Don Pedro got to do with this?” she thought and looked at her dad, tears blurring her eyes.
“Don Pedro did this?” Lora asked, looking her dad, who looked up at her in rage.
“If only you had agreed to marry his son, this would never have happened.” Lucio shouted at her daughter in rage.
“Excuse me?” Lora said, feeling very confused. “What has my marrying Alfredo got to do with this?” she asked looking at her Papa’s face in anger.
“You should have just agreed to marry his son, you good for nothing.” Lucio snapped at Lora.
“Why did you agree to the marriage in the first place? Papa! What have you done? And how dare you try to put the blame on me? You killed her Papa, you killed Grandma Rosa Papa.” With that Lora ran out of her grandma’s room.
She did not know how her legs managed to move, all she knows is that, she could no longer hear the gun shots, she ran into her room, picked up her hand bag, threw a jacket on and ran out of the room again, and into the darkness.
