Quickly, time reached ten o’clock at night. Yan Fei once again approached the airbase vicinity. He carefully watched for nearby surveillance cameras, draping a grass-green blanket over himself, and crawled towards the distant runway in coordination with the flickering lights.
This was the largest US airbase in Japan, with extremely stringent security. There were surveillance cameras everywhere, soldiers patrolling in vehicles from time to time, and various searchlights continuously sweeping around. But there was no going back, as scanning couldn’t be stopped once started. He could only pray not to be discovered by the airbase security personnel.
Watching the red beam slowly sweeping over the F-15’s body, Yan Fei was inwardly anxious, wishing the red beam would move faster. Though anxious, he dared not move his head for fear that the scan would fail and have to start over. Finally, as Yan Fei watched eagerly, just as the red beam reached the tail end of the plane, a deafening alarm suddenly rang out in the base, followed by the sound of whistles. Then, a multitude of military vehicles started their engines, driving towards the runway.
