She didn’t know how long she had been shouting. It could be several months, or it could be a year and a half. She couldn’t quite remember anymore.
At first, she screamed and begged as soon as she regained a bit of energy. She screamed until her voice was gone, and her strength had completely left her before she finally fell silent. This cycle repeated until she could not remember how many times she had done this.
At the beginning, she roared and shouted with indignant fury. Slowly, it turned into offers and confessions. Finally, it turned into weeping and pleading...
In short, she had done anything and everything she could do to save herself. Still, no one responded to her pleas.

Suddenly, a voice rang inside the stone house.
At first, the Night Bodhisattva thought she was hallucinating. Her eyes were dim, and her heart was dead. Then, the voice appeared once more.
“I see you’re liking it a lot. Very well. I’ll leave you be.”
Someone’s talking to me!
It was only now the Night Bodhisattva realized that it wasn’t a hallucination, and indescribable passion and excitement burst through the thick layer of despair and numbness covering her eyes. She immediately dropped to her knees and begged like a drowning woman, “No! I don’t life! Please let me out! I’ll do anything, anything! Just please let me out!”
No one replied after the Night Bodhisattva finished, so she hurriedly begged, “I’ll agree to any request! Any! Just please keep me anywhere else but here!”
Right now, the Night Bodhisattva looked nothing like the deity she was. No, she looked and acted like a dog.
The Night Bodhisattva waited a while longer, but still no one responded to her plea. Just when impatience and despair overcame her patience, and she was about to plea for mercy once more, an indifferent voice rang beside her ear:
The Night Bodhisattva was delighted at first. Then, she was puzzled. Speak... speak what?
“What... do you want me to say, senior?” The Night Bodhisattva asked meekly and carefully, afraid to show even the slightest disrespect.
“Anything. If you speak well, then I will let you go. If you speak poorly, then you can stay here for the rest of your life,” the voice answered.
Night Bodhisattva: “...” No, I still don’t understand. Those words make no sense whatsoever. At least give me a condition or some sort of clue to refer by!
She didn’t dare to say this though. What if she pissed off her captors, and they decided to leave her here permanently?
If possible, she did not want to live for even a second longer.
So, the Night Bodhisattva took a moment to organize her thoughts and slowly began talking. She started from her roots and background.
After all, her captors did not ask for a specific answer. So, she could only tell them everything.
At first, she spoke carefully because she was afraid that this wasn’t the kind of content her captors wanted to listen to. When she heard no order for her to stop though, she relaxed a little and began speaking more confidently. She did not hide anything from them.
This was very likely her last shot at getting out of this place after all. If her self-conceit cost her her freedom, then... she could not even bear to think about it. It simply must not happen no matter what.
Inside the Seal Abyss Tower, the Night Bodhisattva was narrating anything and everything about her origin. Outside the Seal Abyss Tower, Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou were sitting on chairs and sipping some fine wine.
The Seal Abyss Tower was only a third of a meter tall right now. It was floating in the air and emitting a mysterious light.
The Seal Abyss Tower was one of the ultimate treasures of the Eight Views Sect. Although its functions were singular, and it boasted no offensive capabilities whatsoever, its mystique and potency were not inferior to the Seal Abyss talisman or the Command Deity seal in the slightest.
On their way back, they had captured and imprisoned plenty of Strangers in the Seal Abyss Tower. Thanks to this, it was slowly but surely regaining its powers.
One of its abilities was to dramatically slow down the flow of time inside the tower. That was why the Night Bodhisattva felt like months and years had passed inside the tower, when in reality only a single day had passed outside.
They were waiting for the moment the Night Bodhisattva experienced a mental breakdown and succumbed to despair. Now, they could finally interrogate her properly.
Of course, they didn’t ask about Meng Feixue and the sacrificial altar immediately. It would expose their true intentions too easily and give the deity unnecessary ideas.
That was why they were putting up a mysterious front and making it impossible for the Night Bodhisattva to gauge their intentions or strength.

After she had divulged everything, the Night Bodhisattva awaited her captors’ reactions with fear and trepidation.
“Mysterious person? What mysterious person?” The voice rang again just when worry was about to grip her once more.
The Night Bodhisattva hurriedly responded, “I don’t know who she is, but she wore a mask and a blue Taoist robe. I couldn’t see her face, and I know nothing about her roots. I only know that she’s a woman boasting unfathomable skills and terrifying power.”
“A woman wearing a mask and blue Taoist robe?” Both Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou shook their heads when they heard this. This wasn’t enough to confirm the mysterious woman’s origins at all.
Feng Qingyou asked another question, “What about the altar? Why did she order you to build one?”
“She didn’t say either,” The Night Bodhisattva replied carefully before realizing that her answer could be interpreted as disobedience. She hurriedly added, “The altar is the kind used for living sacrifices though.”
“Do you know who the intended recipient is?” Ye Qing asked.
The Night Bodhisattva shook her head again. “I don’t know. However, I am certain that she is plotting something massive. The recipient must be someone incredible as well.”
Ye Qing and Feng Qingyou already knew this. After all, the ritual would have sacrificed hundreds of thousands of lives if allowed to succeed.
“You did all this in Nanjiang, and yet neither the King of Nanjiang nor the elites of the Nanjiang Royal Court stopped you? Or was this their plan?”
“Absolutely not.” The Night Bodhisattva dared not lie to them. “The reason they didn’t stop me is because I’ve taken control of everyone in the Nanjiang Royal Court.”
“Oh? I did not know you’re this powerful. I’m pretty sure there are plenty of powerful warriors in the Nanjiang Royal Court,” Feng Qingyou tried an indirect approach.
“It wasn’t me. I had just awakened, I have yet to regain my divine powers. The King of Nanjiang was protected by the Will of the Dragon and the Will of the Empire as well. Naturally, I do not have the power to control her. It is all thanks to that mysterious woman.”
The Night Bodhisattva replied honestly, “I’m not sure how she did it, but she was able to secretly take control of both the King of Nanjiang and many of her elites. After that, it is simply a matter of applying my influence on them.”
Ye Qing was surprised. Unless he was mistaken, it sounded like the Night Bodhisattva had no idea that the current Meng Feixue was fake!
