“Four Hundred Kilometers Bodhisattva Mountain Range?”
Ye Qing raised his eyebrows. The hill before him was less than a hundred meters tall and overgrown with weed. It did not seem to have anything to do with a mountain or four hundred kilometers whatsoever.
Why did he find this strange? Because the large majority of the lands in the One Hundred Thousand Mountains of Nanjiang were rarely touched by humans. Naturally, they did not have a name. But not only did this hill have a name, it was quite the bombasting-sounding name as well. Naturally, he found it to be unusual.
Moreover, the words on the rock looked incredibly old and weathered. It had to have existed for at least ten thousand years.
Finally, the word “Bodhisattva” existed in the hill’s name. This was also where the Night Bodhisattva disappeared. Therefore, he had every reason to suspect that this hill was deeply tied to her.

Clearly, the true Four Hundred Kilometers Bodhisattva Mountain Range had been concealed inside that ordinary-looking hill using some sort of great power.

Ye Qing was still continuing his efforts when suddenly, the thick, black veil moved without warning. Then, a face appeared on the surface of the veil.
The face was missing its eyeballs. Its expression was benevolent and merciful. It was holding a black lotus in its mouth, and the black lotus was burning with the fire of faith.
The next moment, a withered, rotten arm reached out of the mouth and made a grab for Ye Qing.
As the hand spread open its fingers, it felt as if night had suddenly descended upon this corner of the world. Bewitching Buddhist sounds also filled the air.
“I knew it! You are here!”
Ye Qing did not clash against the Night Bodhisattva head on. Instead, he took a step backward, unleashed the infinite faces of yin and yang, and flowed into the six places.

“I see,” Ye Qing exclaimed in realization before telling her what happened at the Four Hundred Kilometers Bodhisattva Mountain Ridge.
Feng Qingyou mulled over the information he provided her. “Since we’ve already alerted the snake, there’s no time to take it slow any longer. We should end this as soon as possible.”
“I think so too.” Ye Qing nodded and asked, “Oh right, have you figured out what’s the connection between the Night Bodhisattva and the people yet? Can we just take her out?”
“I believe it should be fine. They are only the Night Bodhisattva’s spark and food. If we eliminate her, they should return to normal.”
Feng Qingyou paused for a moment before saying seriously, “However, we can’t kill the Night Bodhisattva yet! At least not now!”

“A living sacrifice altar?” Ye Qing raised his eyebrows as realization struck him. “Who are they sacrificing? The people?”
Feng Qingyou fell silent for a moment. “Yes. And the scale... is massive.”
“They’re targeting everyone?”
A hint of steeliness and bloodthirst entered Ye Qing’s tone. Between seventy to eighty thousand people were living in the settlements neighboring the Nanjiang Royal Court. Not only that, more people were flooding into this place.
Were they planning to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of people at once? This was hundreds of thousands of human lives they were talking about, not mindless animals or insects. How heartless did one have to be to come up with such a heinous plot? The Night Bodhisattva deserved to die for this!

Logically speaking, the Night Bodhisattva was the obvious mastermind here. After all, she was the one who took control of the populace and had them construct the sacrificial altar. It made sense that she would be the recipient of their sacrifice.
However, Feng Qingyou was rejecting that obvious answer and saying that the Night Bodhisattva wasn’t the one behind everything. It didn’t really make sense to him.
