Percy was definitely enjoying the fight against Lethel, but the man seemed nigh untouchable and it wouldn't be long before he could destroy the entire temple. I
It was a three-way fight between Percy, Thalos and Lethel.
Well, not really, because Percy was fighting all throughout the tower with golems right now.
But the fight with Lethel demanded most of his cognitive load. It was a chaotic reel with the flickering bodies and blinding lights enough to cause a stroke.
Lethel was now able to use fire-shifting through his lightning-fast flame attacks, something he couldn't do before. But ever since he summoned that Fire Minotaur, his abilities took a drastic leap.
Percy guessed it was a perk of being Rank 4, because Lethel could even switch places with his spirit.
Thalos danced through the starfall of incandescent flames, each of them so fast that one would think Thalos was dodging lightning. The swordsman was like a flicker of crimson light between the overwhelming haze of white.
The ground exploded and melted the moment the white lances of flame fell on the earth; the air expanded and screamed with a terrible pitch.
The Percy golems there instantly turned to ash from the sun-like radiance.
Percy himself was praying for his eyesight after this fight, because even if the flames weren't personally affecting his eyes, there had to be some mental damage from seeing all this.
But he was thankful that his real body wasn't in the middle of those fire lances. Just one of them was enough to erase hundreds of people; it was like standing at the center of the sun.
And even through all that, Thalos was dashing through the flames.
His body disappeared and reappeared in violent flashes, cutting through the heat and flames so hard that the ground and air behind the blade were split open.
Their clash was so confusing and dangerous that Percy wondered how wars were conducted in this world, because if two people fought in the middle of an army, then there would be more friendly casualties than enemy kills.
They were both so overwhelming.
But Lethel definitely had the advantage.
Thalos had to charge through just the sheer heatwave that the man's presence created to slash him. And when he got there Lethel simply switched places with his charging Minotaur spirit.
This spirit was especially deadly because once it started charging it would incinerate anything in its way.
But Percy was ready for the switch, elevating the ground under Thalos, a pillar of stone raising his father away from danger.
The Minotaur charged through this, turning stone to magma without even directly touching it. Percy suspected the bull burned hotter than even Lethel. The heat in the room was becoming monstrous.
In the meantime, the Percy golems were already surrounding Lethel before he teleported.
They had already chanted the [Tailwind] spell and blasted almost a hundred wind funnels at the fire spiritmancer in an effort to slow him down.
The heat around Lethel was so great that all it did was ruffle his long brown hair and throw some ash into his wild beard. Lethel looked at him smiling.
"Why don't you go away, child? Let the adults settle the problems."
All the Percy golems shrugged with a lopsided smile, all speaking at once in a haunting orchestra.
"I'm waiting for something. Building up energy just like you are to end it all in one shot. But I'm sure you're very proud to be stronger than a kid."
Lethel rolled his eyes, raising his hand. His fingers glowed with white heat that distorted the air from its intensity.
Then he punched the ground under him.
A massive explosion washed over the Percy golems, erasing them all.
That wasn't all though. The explosion rippled out, shaking the entire temple and spreading to encompass the entire hollow center of the ziggurat.
A long way from Lethel, one of the Percy golems was waiting with Sebas and Griffon trapped under the gravity traps. It turned back to Hugo and George, who had been standing there to help watch the prisoners.
"Time for both of you to go," Percy said to them. Before they could even protest, he opened up the ground and sealed it once they fell through. "Go help Dina on the ground floor."
He said it even though they were gone; the other golems in the tunnel he sent them through would pass on the request. He went back to watching the fiery explosion coming towards them.
Despite how huge the hollow center of the temple was, a tiny dot like Lethel could implode the entire place.
"Griffon, do you think you can survive this?" Percy asked the Whitemoon leader pinned against the floor.
The man had been unable to speak with the intense gravity Percy placed him under, but suddenly he raised his head and smiled.
"Finally, those two are gone."
Percy's eyes widened as the spirits around Griffon increased. Between the swaying green wind spirit, brown lights appeared in a still flash.
He has dual affinities?!
The fight between Thalos and Lethel had been too intense for Hugo to even remember, and Griffon had been waiting for that chance.

Before Percy could regain control from the earth spirits, Griffon escaped the gravity trap by reducing his weight. His wings fluttered slightly.
In a flash the man disappeared, decapitating the Percy golem and streaking towards the golden box in the hand of another golem.
Percy had been holding onto the golden box since before they fell from the top floor, trying to open it.
Griffon's primary objective now that Percy had full control of the temple was to get the treasure away from him.
But the moment Griffon escaped, every single Percy golem knew. The golem with the box suddenly sank through into the earth with the golden box. Griffon grabbed at the empty air and roared.
All the golems around him smiled and pointed at the explosion that had just reached them.
Griffon stared as the light washed over his pale face and blonde hair. He wasn't fast enough to escape that.
The fire consumed the entire space.
Thalos slashed through the flames and they parted like brilliant golden clouds, illuminating his black hair as its edges smoked.
While he stood there panting, mind fully sharpened toward the single thought of killing Lethel, a Percy golem rose from the earth.
"Lethel's direct attacks are far more potent than AOE attacks ," Percy hummed. "Must be a perk he gains from the Minotaur spirit."
Thalos was in no position to answer; he was holding his breath and controlling his body to prepare for his next move.
There wasn't even much air in the space with such powerful flames; the Percy golem didn't need air to talk though.
"I'll open the golden box we got from the top floor," Percy explained. "I'll use it to stop the Minotaur somehow. Then I'll extinguish all the flames in the room with gravity magic. But Lethel isn't done; we have to survive his next attack."
