Sold as Slave Chapter 66

Third Person’s POV “I heard that you would stay here for you. Finally, you picked up the screws in your head.” Vincent looked at his father. If picking up the loose screws in his head meant staying here with his family, he would rather scatter them further away. Thanks to someone, he was forced to stay. “Start working and assist your brother. I’ll give you a good position. We will start a project next month. I think you can participate there.” “Sorry, Father. I think I am still incapable of working,” Vincent said. “Again? Incapable? Aren’t you tired of giving the same excuse?” Avoiding his father’s gaze, he stood up and responded, “I am sorry. Actually, I don’t feel quite good today. I’ll go now.” He walked out of the office hearing his Father’s voice fading as he moved farther. “Haaaa,” Vincent could breathe at ease outside the building. His head was still throbbing, as if there were hundreds of needles prickling his brain every time he breathed. When he arrived in front of Lanceil’s condominium, his legs lost their strength and he leaned against the door. Mouth felt so hot, but hands were icy cold. Vincent’s mind was swirling as the door opened, and he fell inward, onto someone’s arms. “Oh!” With panting breath, Vincent looked at his savior’s face. ‘Is this real? Or a dream?’ He asked himself with lids that weigh as heavy as a ten-wheeler truck, he barely blinked open and close. “You’re sick,” Agatha said upon touching his skin. “Geez. You are burning, Vincent.” Vincent felt so good to be in her arms. She’s the reason why he wanted to stay, but she’s also the reason why he’s in so much pain. Even if he wanted to be pampered by her, Vincent knew he had to draw a line. “I don’t need your help. Let me go.” Vincent pushed Agatha. She staggered backward as annoyance painted on her pale face. “You and your pride,” she murmured, clicking her tongue. ‘Although I hate you, you are still my boyfriend’s brother. I should treat f*cking well,’ is what is on Agatha’s mind while looking at the stubborn little brother of Lanceil. But Vincent was firm as a rock. “I don't need anyone's help. I can… take care of myself. So, go away. Get lost.” Vincent swayed on the way to his room while Agatha only followed him through her eyes. After he entered his room and closed the door, Agatha fetched a long sigh. “It’s crazy to get worried for someone who hates you. But he’s Lanceil’s brother.” If something happens to Vincent, Lanceil would get worried. “Should I just leave him alone?” Agatha asked herself. There was a class in her review center tonight and Agatha had to go even if she wanted to take a full rest inside the condo. Nonetheless, she can’t be at ease. Moreover… ‘When Lanceil and I had a s*x, I am pretty much sure that Vincent heard us.’ Agatha could understand where Vincent’s contempt came from. He probably hates her even more after finding out that she’s having a relationship with his brother from now on, and that they even had their first union inside the house where Vincent stays. Yet, although Vincent hates her, he hadn’t told Lanceil that Agatha worked here as his maid with purpose. ‘And I felt thankful for that,’ Agatha admitted inwardly. Thus, she swallowed her pride and went inside Vincent’s room to check on him. “Hey. Do you want to… Vincent!” As soon as she came inside, she found Vincent lying on the floor and panting. “Hey! Hey!” She knelt and put his head on her lap. Vincent was showered with a bullet of sweat. His eyes were so heavy, it was hard for him to open them. He was still conscious of his surroundings but was too weak to move. “D-Don’t touch me,” he mumbled. “You are such a hateful b*stard,” Agatha complained. “I’ll call your brother. Wait a minute.” She picked up her phone but Vincent snatched the phone away. “No,” he disagreed. “My brother is… he’s in the middle of an important meeting. I just need a rest. So, stop f*cking me with insincere words. I know you’re only acting like you care because I am Lanceil’s brother. Like sh*t, I don’t need that.” “Hearing you say many words even in that state, I guess you’re still fine,” Agatha commented. He opened his eyes and found her gaze. “Everyone acts like they care for me. But in the end, I am really alone.” Agatha’s eyes softened. She acts in front of Lanceil. A good, innocent, kind, and sweet lady who knows how to curse. That was her image. However, Agatha never wears a mask in front of Vincent. She was grateful for that, and for having someone like Vincent who could keep her secret. “If you are alone, then why am I here?” Agatha asked as she helped him stand up. “Ugh,” Vincent grunted. Agatha brought him to his bed. He slumped down there and growled in pain. His headache made everything blurry. But the last words Agatha said before he lost his unconscious had reached his ears. [“I came here to take care of you. You’re not alone, b*stard.”] Hours passed by. Vincent regained consciousness. His headache was gone, and he doesn’t have a fever anymore. ‘I survived.’ Curious about how he sat up. The thick blanket slid downward. He looked around his room. There are medicines, a towel on a bowl, and a thermometer on the table. Vincent remembered seeing and hearing Agatha before losing consciousness. “Did she take care of me?” There was only one answer. Vincent lowered his head and bit his lower lip while feeling the loud beating of his heart. ‘The first reason why I wanted to stay here was to protect my brother.’ ‘When I found out that my brother likes her, I wanted to watch over her.’ ‘I had to draw a line since they are now together.’ ‘But now…’ “My feelings for you went deeper.” He clenched his fists, frightened of what he might do in the future if he continued this dangerous attraction.
