Siren’s Cry [A LITRPG Adventure] Chapter 4

A/N: Completely forgot to post this earlier, sorry bout that! Enjoy! P.S: you get to see funny loot this chapter :) Selecting Minor Conjuration, I turn back to the skeleton to see what loot I got. The corpse is still there, but in addition to its sword a small pouch has appeared within the shattered ribcage. A quick Identify reveals the contents. Ancient Bone Powder (Common): A small pouch of bone dust, useful as an alchemical or agricultural additive. Grabbing a length of vine from the wall and crafting a quick makeshift belt, I tie the pouch on before continuing down the tunnel. The torch I'm still holding is worth more as a weapon than the shitty sword the skeleton used, so I ignore the piece of trash. Just around the corner is another room with several shelves inlaid into the walls. Rattling echoes from all but one of the eight, revealing more skeletons crawling free from their resting places. The numbers would probably be an issue, if not for my new skill. A small magic circle forms above my palm, mana draining from my stores to crystallize above the runes. A small arrowhead shape forms, floating off to the side as it awaits my command. Trying to summon more with the same circle reveals itself to be much cheaper than creating a new circle each time, and before long I have six of the little arrows hovering in front of me. Pointing at the boneheads seems to be all the directions needed as the constructs bolt forward as though fired from a bow, slamming into the first undead with a stattaco of cracks. Brittle bones splinter under arcane mass, and five arrows return as the last one bursts apart into shrapnel inside the skull. Conjuring another, I feel my mana pool straining as I direct them to the next one. Another skeleton falls as a construct detonates, the remaining five shambling towards me with angry howls. It only took around thirty seconds to kill each of the two, but the skeletons would reach me before I can kill them all with my swarm. Aiming the summons at a third, I sprint for the closest one, torch swinging like a baseball bat. Flickering flame connects with a kneecap, disconnecting the leg as the walking corpse falls. This one doesn't have a weapon, unlike the others which all wield swords in various states of scrap. Another swing and the skull slams into the far wall, shattering into tiny bits as the body collapses. One of them slices at my back, but the rusty blade simply skitters off my feathers. Thanks, blessing. Grinning as I fight with my summons, it only takes another minute to kill the last four Sans wannabes. Looting them all, I throw the two points from my new levels into speed as well, bringing it up to 13 total. Five more pouches of bone dust greet me, but two of them drop something unique. Ancient Bone Club (Uncommon, Blunt): A sturdy club made from an ancient femur. Deals bonus damage to skeleton-type creatures. Rattling Ring (Uncommon, Accessory): An enchanted ring made from ancient bones. Has three charges that regenerate every hour. For one charge, creates a small barrier of percussive force that lasts for ten seconds. Slipping the ivory ring on, I feel the strange sensation of a switch appearing in my mind. Dropping the now extinguished torch in favor of the club, I search the room for anything hidden, and almost miss the small button on one of the skeleton shelves. Pressing it, the scraping of stone on stone reveals the hidden door next to the shelf. Inside is a tiny room, barely large enough for the aged wooden chest within. Deciding to have some fun, I enable my passive before opening it. A neatly folded nun habit rests within, complete with long slits up both sides of the dress and space for my wings. Quickly putting it on so I'm no longer naked, I identify my new clothes. -==×==- Googlᴇ search 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹•𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖•𝗇𝗲𝘁 Fallen Nun’s Habit (Uncommon, Armour): The habit of a holy nun that fell to sinful temptations. While worn, prevents climax and increases mana regeneration. Decreases damage taken by converting part of the damage into stimulation. Chuckling at the absurdity of the effects, I decide to test it real quick. Punching myself in the side as hard as I can, I moan at the sudden rush of pleasure and pain from the force that got through. My cock instantly stands at attention, tenting the front of the habit as my breasts tingle pleasantly. I shiver as the sensation fades, making a mental note to try and avoid getting hit anyway. The pleasure may be just as debilitating. The mana regeneration buff is already proving itself useful, as I can feel my mana pool refilling as my summons disperse one by one. Guess there's a time limit. Probably because it's only Minor Conjuration. I disable my passive once more as I continue into the dungeon, already thankful for the clothing as the temperature begins to drop. Step by step, I wander deeper into the crypt, passing a few empty coffins in the halls before reaching another room a couple minutes later. This time the tell-tale groans of zombies greet me as I enter, dim torches flickering along the walls casting dancing shadows everywhere… that don't affect me, due to my inherent night vision. Creating the runic circle, my little arrows pop into existence one at a time just as the corpses spot me. Even slower than the skeletons, they shamble towards me, rotting flesh hanging from necrotic limbs. Black blood seeps from missing eyes, glassy gazes locked on me. And the smell. Dear GODS the smell is horrendous, like a mix of sewage tank and garbage dump. The first zombie dies before they get anywhere near me, and the second falls soon after to my summons. One by one, the zombies fall, dead to dozens of holes riddling their bodies. Not a single one gets to me, the closest one being a good six feet away. The last construct disappears with a flash of mana, and I accept the prompt to loot the four of them as two level ups ping out. Each zombie was apparently level five, and the four together brought me to it as well. The familiar skill selection symbol appears as I put the two free points into magic, and I spend a few minutes debating what skill to get before one catches my eye. Grimoire (Active): Conjure a spell tome. All known spells will be recorded. I choose it almost instantly, and pull up the descriptions of both of my skills. Minor Conjuration (Active): Create a small arrow-like mana construct to fight with you. Does not drain mana past initial creation, but has a fixed time limit. Grimoire (Active): Conjure a soulbound spell tome that records all known spells. Non-skill spells will be recorded here, and new spells can be learned through study or use of a scroll. A wide smile spreads across my face as I read Grimoire’s description. It's exactly what I thought it would be. A fairly simple skill, as I need to learn the spells myself, but invaluable due to the sheer utility of it. Rather than needing to carry around a bulky bag of books and scrolls to study magic with, I instead have a personal spell tome that can never be stolen. Damn, with the summoning and grimoire I'm basically a warlock at this point aren't I? Eh, it doesn't matter. I carefully gather the loot from the zombies, making sure I don't touch the rotting bodies before identifying all four pieces. Spell Scroll (Uncommon, Consumable): A scroll imbued with a runic array. Allows for one cast of the spell [Purify]. Wasteward Ring (Uncommon, Accessory): A small enchanted copper ring. Imbue with mana to cast the spell [Clean]. Corrupted Blood (Rare): A vial of blood tainted by undeath. Used as an alchemical reagent or in certain necromantic rituals. Jeweled Necklace (Common, Accessory): A ruby necklace that once held a defensive enchantment. No power remains within the gemstone. Pouring some of the bone powder into the other pouches, I put the vial into the now empty pouch on my vine belt. Summoning my grimoire, I open it and set the scroll inside. Instantly, the cover snaps shut and a dim glow shines from between the pages. After a few long moments, it opens once more to show that the scroll is now attached as its own page within the book, a spell circle visible in black ink. Channeling a little mana through it, the brownish water seeping in from one corner of the room turns clear. Putting on the ring and necklace, I cast the Clean spell to remove any zombie bits that got on me. Shivering at the thought, I move on to the next room. Another short hallway, and I reach the fourth room. Both rattles and groans come from this one, along with an eerie whispering that I'm praying isn't ghosts. My prayers aren't enough, as I turn the corner and grotesque transparent figures pull themselves free of the stone. I sigh before smiling. Probably immune to physical attacks… but my summons aren't entirely physical.
