(Olivia’s POV)
It has been an eventful night indeed! No one care about the Gala night anymore because of the saga with the mysterious pregnant lady and seeing the way everything was handled, it should end well. Looking at Denzel, I pity him—my heart bleeds for him and being a secretary isn’t all that fun at all. The dark circles in his eyes can be visible and he needs a lot of rest and thankfully, it’s the weekend and we have plenty of days to rest before we resume work for a new week.
His left hand have a soft grip on the steering while the right hand is placed on his right thigh and on an impulse, I place my left hand on his right hand and massage them lightly and I guess he was surprised by my sudden actions because he looked at me with those weary eyes that he is trying to hide before his eyes soften and let out a small smile before intertwining his hand in mine.
My heart skipped every time he spoke to me, every time I saw him, every time we had breakfast, lunch or dinner and I wondered how my feeling grew so strong for him. I always knew from the very beginning I started working at STERLING INC. that I liked him--- I guess he was my own Sterling and I was his own Phoenix.
I couldn’t wait to get home—and spoil him silly in the best way I can at such a short period of time.
Still in my thoughts, I didn’t know when we got home until he called me.
“Babe, we are home,”
“Oh, we are—that was fast,”
“Yeah, let’s get in and I hope you don’t mind that I brought you over to mine,”
“It’s no problem babe,”
A few minutes in the house and I pull off all of my clothes before he could even say anything and I got into the bathroom, closing the door behind me. I went to the tub and prepared a warm bath, pouring in scenting oils, some available rose petals, and also getting the towels ready for whenever we came out.
After I was done, I looked at everything before stepping out of the bathroom only to get slammed with questions.
“Why did you run off like that? Were you that pressed or something?” he said with a quizzical look on his face.
“I just had to get something done right away but that doesn’t matter right now. Take off your clothes and follow me into the bathroom quickly,”
“What, what’s going on in there?”
“Pfft, would you follow me in there and stop asking me questions,”
“Wait, are we going to have sex in there? I am telling you, I would love it but not today—today, I’m not ready to explore,”
“Pervert---I have a gift for you,”
I couldn’t wait for him to continue asking and let the warm water get cold so I dragged him into the bathroom and he just stood there looking at the tub—immobile. I stood in front of him and held his face with both my hands and spoke to him.
“I know that you’re so stressed out and I noticed it recently. I don’t know what you do that takes up your extra hours and I don’t know how much work load you have but this is me preparing a warm bath for you, to help you relax a bit and ease your tensed muscles. So, I’d like you to get in and let me take care of you tonight,” I looked at him with my eyes stinging with tears.
“This is so thoughtful of you and I’m so grateful right now,” he said, taking off all of his clothes and got in, heaving a sigh of relieve when he finally relaxed in the bathtub.
I got in from behind and positioned myself from behind so I’d scrub his body properly. I lathered soap on him and washed him thoroughly before moving to his hair and washing it properly.
When I was done, I moved forward so I’d face him and I stared at him intently before blunting out my next words without thinking.
“I love you, Denzel and I realized that I love you so much. These past few weeks that we’ve been together, you’ve been nothing short of amazing and I want to thank you for that. I promise that as long as you will continue having me, I will definitely give you all of my love and more,”
“I have waited for so long to hear you say those words to me and hearing you say those words to me makes me so pleased. I love you, Olivia and I always will,” He said, looking at me as if I was the only thing in his world that existed and I guess I could say the same for me too—he was my world.
“Okay well, enough of all this mushy talks. Let’s be quick and get out of here before the water gets cold. I have other things planned out and do not forget that we haven’t had dinner yet,” I said after remembering that the water was becoming cold.
After having out bath together, we both wore really light piece of clothing and went straight for the kitchen.
I looked through the fridge and cupboards and found some really useful ingredients—hmmm, I guess he cooked too but I wasn’t in the mood for a late night meal, I was in the mood for a late night snack. I took a bowl of chocolate ice cream and a pack of Doritos and went straight to the sitting room and placed them on the table and got back to get spoons for the ice creams and all through the time I did this, his eyes never left my side as though he was amused.
The he spoke.
“You like ice cream that much?” he said, with a hint of humor undertone.
“Who doesn’t? I’m pretty sure that all the girls in this world loves ice cream as much as I do,” I said, shrugging my shoulders as if whatever he just said was something he was supposed to know all along before comfortably sitting on the cozy sofa and tapping on the spot next to mine to let him come sit down.
After he sat down beside me, I found the remote to the television and switched it on and tuned to a very famous cartoon, Tom and Jerry— I swear; it never gets old!
“That means that you have a sweet tooth,” he said, chuckling which sounded like an incredible music ringing in my ear.
While eating the ice cream, a thought came to my head and before I could think it through, I blurted it out.
“Do you think your parents will like; that is if you introduce me to them?” I said, squinting my eyes and thinking hard about it. I’m probably sure that they will dig into my past and get my previous information.
(Denzel’s POV)
Everything was going well until she made that statement
“Do you think your parents will like me?”
Those words rang in my ears. I was yet to tell her who I truly was—not yet anyways but I had to improvise for the time being.
“Of course they will. Anyone who doesn’t fall in love with you at first glance or conversation really isn’t human,” I said, making the atmosphere light.
“Are you sure about that?” she said, farrowing her thick brows as though she was thinking about it.
“Hey, stop thinking too much about it besides, I’m the one getting married to you and they have no choice but to accept and love you,”
“And you are so sure that they will accept me because?”
“Because I’m their golden son; it is that simple. Now, enough talking and more eating, I’m already having a brain freeze,”
“Ouch, I guess you are not much into ice creams then why did you get lots of it?”
“Because of you obviously; I figured you’d be a sweet tooth,”
“Tsk, you are so full of yourself right now,”
“Get up and let’s go upstairs, I’m exhausted. Even though it will be a weekend tomorrow, I still need to get all the rest I can get,”
“Sure thing, babe; I’ll just pack this up and keep them back,”
I watched her pack up everything and place them where they belong before taking a bottle of water from the fridge and following me up the stairs to the room we shared together. Immediately I got into the room, it was as though a huge duvet of sleep covered me and I quickly got into my own side of the bed while dragging her down with me so I could spoon her but she stopped me.
“Please, do not struggle,” I muffled
“No, just lay on your back; I have one more surprise for you,”
“What is it?” I groaned as I lay on my back as she said. I waited patiently for her surprise, only for her to lie on my back and start massaging it softly.
This was indeed relaxing and soothing. If I knew all along that people did this in relationships, I could have found her sooner than this.
“I figured that you don’t do this very often; I may be wrong but still, after seeing you stress out this much throughout the night, I thought it wise to just give you a little massage to further ease your tensed muscles,” Olivia said, massaging my muscles with what smelled like scented oil. I wondered where she got that from.
“You’ve been very thoughtful,” I said, inhaling deeply while the sleep washed over me, making me feel sleepy “When am I going to meet your parents, hmmm?”
