Max almost threw his dagger to Desmond. But, Cecilia stop his movement by holding his hand tightly.
With a firm voice, she said, “How can you say something stupid like that in front of my husband?”
Cecilia's purple eyes look so intimidating. It never crossed in Max's mind that his little, cute fiancé can act like a brave yet sexy woman like this.
“Something stupid?” Desmond knitted his brows before he started laughing. “HAHAHA! My, my. It's seemed you are misunderstanding, Kitten. I'm not into a married woman with acne in her face. In short, you are not my type.”
Cecilia didn't drop her guard. She looked as cautious as a wild animal, “Then, what did you mean?”
“Cook a dinner for me.”
“What?”
“Huh?”
The young couple exchange their glance and wondering if they heard it right.
“Yesterday, we catch so many rabbits, and I'm so tired with to eat ordinary food. After tasted your soup, I'm curious if you can turn it into a unique dish.”
She knitted her brow. Even in her past, she never cooks or eat rabbit's meat, “I'm not a professional cook, Sir. It just a hobby of mine.”
“Just turn it into the soup. The same soup you gave to me as Derek.” Desmond rolled his eyes.
“Then, you don't need my wife's hand.” Max crossed his arm and look annoyed with that muscular man's face. “The protector of this frozen land blessed the soup, make it available in eternal life.”
“But, since the soup need to reheat from time to time, we put it on the bonfire in the Town Square.” Cecilia added.
Desmond smirked. Deep in his heart, he felt grateful because the starvation problem was (almost) solved.
Now, people can eat those delicious soup rather than bland grain porridge. “Ah, I see. So, if I put the meat on it… Hmm, interesting. Tell your leader that I owe him one.”
Max shook his head, “No need. Just agree with what the Emperor wants. Since His Majesty only want the best for his citizen.”
“Haha! Do you think I'm that naive? The Emperor must be plotting of something! Why, after all the time, he come here now?” He tightened his grip when he held the axe.
“When I sent him a letter, to ask his help to end the war, he didn't even reply to it.”
Max and Cecilia chose to not answer his complaint. Since the emperor was turning his back and kind of neglect that mess because it happened same time with the beginning of the expansion to another kingdoms.
But, Max did know that his father was trying his best to make every citizen living comfortably. His majesty still funding Icicle from time to the time. But, it still not enough from them to recuperate their island's economy situation.
That's why, he and Lancia's family try to make this island live independently, even they didn't get enough fund from this empire.
But, the first step is to gain the trust from Desmond and this citizen. Thereafter, another thing will follow.”
Desmond sighed heavily, “Well, I should go back to the town to put the rabbit. Follow me.”
The young couple starting to walk behind Desmond's back. For some reason, Cecilia felt like he looks a bit lonely. Desmond indeed won the war. But, he must be lost several parts from his life.
“Brother!” Suddenly, Helga appeared and approach him with knitted brows, “Did you eat the soup on the Town Square? It's delicious! But, the best part is--,”
“I know it, Helga. Then, let me introduce you to this people. Max and his wife, Cecil. They are from Scorpion's guild.”
Her blue eyes sparkling when she saw the mysterious hero, “Ah, the bok choy is tasty! Thank you.”
“It's already growth?” Cecilia asked in disbelief.
“Haha, yes. Because of my magic.”
“Wow! My auntie is a magician, too!”
“Really? What is her name? Perhaps, I knew her.” Helga said with excitement, feeling since in this world, woman who can control the magic power is rare.
“Her name is Kaleela.”
Helga tilted her head, “Ah, I think I know her. Well, let's just say that we didn't get along. But, who will expect that a woman like that have you as niece!”
“Helga.” Desmond called her name with sharp gaze.
“I'm just asking. Anyway, I already asked Gregorio to put every meat we have in the soup. Now, we can eat meat every day! We should invite people to eat this!”
Cecilia suddenly clasp Helga's hand with amazement, “You are genius! It's a good idea!”
The three people around Cecilia look confused. That's why she said, “What if we make this as a tourism attraction?”
“What? No one will spend their time in this place.” Desmond said with rolled his eyes.
But, Helga and Max show different reaction.
“I heard that the barren island in the south already became an amusement park because of Lancia's family. So, we might still have a chance.”
Max nodded while he squeeze Cecilia's left shoulder, “As expected from my Chili!”
“Okay! It's settled, then!” Cecilia smiled happily when Desmond look as sour as tamarind.
“Wait, it's impossible. We can't do that.”
“Brother! Why are you being like that?”
“Sir Desmond, do not worry. My husb--, I mean the guild's leader, will take care of everything. All we need are you and every people on this island to cooperate.”
“What do you mean by that?”
Cecilia smiled and said, “Do you want to build the snowman?”
