The wooden floor of the hall shimmered under the sun with a waxed sheen, the old liquor cabinet turned into a digital gun cabinet, and the bar became a white reception desk, with the DJ and dance screen hanging above it. Tattered sofas were renewed, the pool table transformed into a large tactical command table, and the transparent groove in the middle seemed ready for fake 3D projection mapping when powered. A row of tables and chairs, seemingly meant for equipping electronic devices, was placed under the stair up to the second floor but was empty.
Upon reaching the second floor, besides the five guest rooms, there was an outpost on the balcony with mounted guns. Once the door closed, the place turned into an impenetrable fortress.
The basement was unseen by Lin Miao, but major changes had clearly occurred as the original reward, the modification pod, did not appear in his backpack. It was evidently directly installed in the basement.
The entire building looked totally out of place in this town, and even the art style had changed from a western town to a military training base.
If it were in the game, it wouldn’t be surprising to build such things with resources, and it wouldn’t be an issue for players, since it’s a game. Even if they hammered out a battleship on an empty field, it would be within understanding. But having this scene appear in a real place for Lin Miao still had an uncanny sense of discord.
The system called this change information integration, but in Lin Miao’s eyes, it was like magic. Maybe when a primitive man entered modern society and saw the iron shells driving along the streets, he would feel the same wondrous sensation as Lin Miao did.
Facing the players who gathered to submit the task, Lin Miao wished he could hug each of them and kiss them, but unfortunately, he couldn’t because he’s not Nantong.

However, Lin Miao’s skilled currency counting still astonished the four, as it was their first time receiving physical currency in a game. The feeling of holding cash in their hands was unlike simply watching account numbers change, the sense of accomplishment and excitement was far beyond the latter.
The Leader whispered to Brother Ni, "Why are there two types of currency for task rewards, one paper currency and one virtual currency, what does that mean?"
Brother Ni thought for a moment and said, "Probably for different uses. The paper currency should be the common currency in this world of the game, usable in other places, like trading with NPCs or something. GP points might be like in-game purchase points or special store coupons in older online games, game pay... Basically the money for buying limited items."
"But 750 Eurocoins is quite a lot, considering we’ve only worked for less than two days. If Eurocoins are like euros, converting to a monthly salary, it would be over twelve or thirteen thousand euros!"
