My Seet Love Chapter 9

Russell POV I sat down on the chair in the living room with my legs crossed as I wait for the maid to be out at the sitting with my note, since I had nothing to do today and I was not in the mood to go to one of those boring dates my father do set for me, I decided to have a little bit of fun. I heard a soft footstep behind me and I knew she was the one like the house had only I and her inside. "Sit down." I pointed at the chair at my front when I knew she was close to me enough to hear. "Huh!" The words I said surprised her and I looked up to see her face, raising the corner of my brow. She quickly looked at her foot and I smirked, she was one shy little maid. "I am not..." "I know you're not supposed to sit down here." I interrupted her before she could finish. "But, sit down, let's finish the script." I was ready to help her, my dad wanted to hear the song by next, so I had to finish it. She obediently sat down, but I noticed she was not comfortable, it made me smile, other ladies I know don't act like this one, which made it more fun. "Sit comfortably," I told her and she looked up at me for a brief moment. "No one is here to punish you, whereas your boss is not here." I knew she was scared of my father and even me, she had begged me not to report her to my father and I saw the fear in her eyes that day. "Even so..." "Keep it to yourself." I cut her off. I was already tired of hearing her protest, whereas I was not interested in what she had to say. All I wanted was to be done with this note, once and for all. I took the notepad from her and opened it, which I realised made me angry. "How can you still be here since then?" My voice was so loud and cold that I noticed her shift in the chair. "You have not even gotten to the middle, what a troublesome person you are!" I have had my hopes all this while I gave her this note like there was less work to do in this mansion, just having to serve my dad, since I do most of my things myself, cause I hate someone invading my personal space. "So you have not taken this thing seriously huh!" "No, I have, I don't sleep because I don't sleep well because I am trying to write those notes." She told me in a hoarse voice and I could see tears in her eyes, but I scoffed, Yvonne had told me that tears were part of emotion, but I hate this. "This doesn't show so anyway." I raised the note to her face. "What don't you understand here?" I asked throwing down the notepad on the table. "The music script, I have not used them before." She said softly, pressing her pink lips together, her hands' quiver as she grips the little cloth wrapped around her waist, I could feel that she wanted to run away from me at the moment. I raised the corner of my lips, it has been a long time since I saw someone terrified. "Well, it would be, I heard you are an orphan and you grew up at an orphanage!" I was so furious that I blurted that out and I regretted it the seconds it came out. "Yes, I grew up in an orphanage!" She said in a loud voice and I knew I had hit the spot I shouldn't. I touched my forehead light and casually waved my hands. "That word I repeated...Aish!" The last time I had said that she cried a lot and I didn't feel so good about it. "Well, the damage has already been done. "So how did you become an orphan?" I asked her, I don't know why I was even curious about that, but I continued. "I mean how did your parents die?" I paused and I raised my brow. "Or were you dumped?" There were people that their parents dumped too at the orphanage, that was why I asked. I saw tears rolling down her eyes. "I was not dumped!" She raised her voice for the second time and I was amazed she knows how to be angry. "My parents are not that kind of people, they died... they died." Her lips quiver and she looked down like she had just remembered her past pain. It made me remember my mom's death too and I look at her. This was the second thing I regret telling her, I shouldn't have asked her if she was dumped. "I don't mean to." "They died in a car accident fourteen years ago." Her eyes were staring at her fingers which were on her laps. "They were the best parents." Her voice was filled with emotions that came out too soft and low. "I even have beautiful memories of them." She raised her head to look me in the face, her eyes were filled with tears and her brow was slightly curved. I was good at reading people's expressions to know that she was sad. "I hate being called an orphan, I hate it when people say I was abandoned." She sniffles, tears rolling down her cheek uncontrollably. She looked down again. "I am the cause, all because of me if it had not happened that day..." She pauses like the words were so hard that she had to force them out. "If only I had not told them I was sick, if only I pretended to be healthy that night, it wouldn't have happened." She buried her face in her palm. "They love me, they love me so much that they decided to take me to the hospital, but then it happened, I am unlucky, I am very unlucky, I.am terrified." She sobbed. I couldn't watch her be like this anymore, I had this same feeling when my mother died. I got up from my chair and walked over to her gently pat her back. "It's not your fault, it is not your fault, we all just have ill luck, we all experience it sometimes." She looked up at me and I held her gaze for a while and then looked away. "I shouldn't have blurted out those words." She wipes off her tears with the back of her hands. "It's a mistake." "It's nothing," I told her and I got a few flashbacks of when she told me it was not my fault and I stopped, looking at her. "Did you say anything to me last night?" She looks up at me. "Huh!" I looked at her shocked face, it means I might have said something last night, but she was suddenly silent. "Nevermind," I said and returned to my chair, it may be something embarrassing and I don't want to feel that way right now, whereas I had made up my mind that it was not worth remembering. I picked up the notepad and glanced through it. "Those things you said about your parents, I will pretend I never heard it," I told her with my eyes still on my note. "Huh!" I look up at her with a nonchalant expression. "You never said those words to me." I lift the notepad for her to see again. "About these notes and music script, I would assist you because you have to finish it before the week runs out." My words made her blink, I am sure she would be finding me amazing at the moment. "Thank you." I thought I would see her smile, but she didn't, well I haven't smiled at her before either, but...what am I even thinking, that will never happen. I looked at the note again and flipped through some pages. "Let's see, emm...you got this place wrong." I showed her and she seemed to have eased a little bit, and so on, we both went through the music note together.
