Three days have passed and I have not visited the Oran Company nor have I taken their calls, I have kept them hanging and was waiting for them to come to me instead. I sat down on my sofa In my living room going through some files on my laptop when I heard footsteps.
I raised my head to see my assistant walking towards me, I love having a quiet time whenever I was working, so I raised my brow at her and she knew well to go straight to the point.
"Miss Natasha, Russeli Ryan is at your doorstep." She announced and my brow quickly furrowed and I looked at her with a cold gaze.
"And how did the information of where I stay leaked out?" I asked her since I was sure that I had kept that confidential since I don't want paparazzi or reporters stalking my doorsteps.
"I am sorry Miss Natasha, I will take care of it." She turned to leave but I stopped her.
I was curious to know what went wrong. If he was alone then I would be able to find a hint and wouldn't worry about others finding it suspicious. "Let him in," I told her and closed my laptop.
Few minutes later I heard the majestic footstep approach and I knew it was Russeli. I took a deep breath and turned around to face him. I was wearing a yellow off-shoulder dress and my hair was let down to fall perfectly on my shoulders. I was not looking like a mafia this time, I was looking more like a princess about to meet her prince, but the only difference was the prince doesn't recognize me.
"And to what I owe this visit," I said as I moved over to a chair and sat down, I could see his eyes on me. I knew I had become so beautiful, but he was not staring at me with lustful eyes, this was one thing that didn't change in Russelli.
In the past, he had told me how he had met a lot of ladies through his father and not on his own will, he had told me that among all of them I was the only one he loves sincerely, and I believed him, I had nothing then, still he showered his love on me, not with words, with actions too.
"I am sorry, I came without making an appointment." He told me softly and for a while, my lips parted and I was shocked.
The Russeli I knew hates apologies, he despises it a lot, but right here he was doing that, he was telling me he is sorry, I was at a loss of words as I stared at him like a moron.
"You have changed a lot." My voice was soft and distant, but still, he was able to grab what I said.
He lifted the corner of his brow and he looked surprised by my words. "How? I don't understand?" His eyes wobbled.
I looked away from him, reminding myself that I should play cool and focus. "I am talking about your songs." I lied and looked at him again, pointing at a chair across me. "Please sit." He did, like an obedient child as I stared at him in silence for a while and the air between us was becoming awkward.
I blink and put a music plate on the table. "Your last album, I listened to it and it was filled with emotions." I crossed my legs and stared at his face. "What happened to you after your music four years ago?" I lean back on the chair. "Did you lose the reason you got those emotions from?"
"I don't have a reason." He told me and he glanced down at the music plate I left on the table. I was staring at his face for any reaction, but there was none, he was like plain paper.
My brow knitted and my lips paused as I stared at the man I once knew, he had told me that I had made him have emotions in music, that my love has conquered his cold heart, Russeli was strange now, too strange for my liking.
"Don't you have a girl in the past that you love, someone from four years ago who has helped you bring those emotions in this music out?" I asked while I searched his eyes, it was stupid to ask, but I wanted him to give me a hint I can start with, something that would make me figure why he was this way.
"A girl?" he closed his eyes momentarily and I looked at him closely, he opened his eyes again and shook his head. "I don't remember loving anyone or having a girlfriend then." I looked at myself and squinted. "But, I do remember I was dating someone."
My heart skipped a bit and I sat up and stared at him with hopes. "Who is that?" I asked in excitement and the look on his face changed and I swallowed, searching for a perfect excuse to find out. "She can also help in fixing that this time too."
"It is Yvonne." He spoke a few words and my heart was crushed as I leaned back to the chair slowly and my eyes sting.
That moment when all your hopes get crushed by a single name from a person you love, when you expect for something else, but gets something else in return, this was how I felt at this moment, this was how hurt I was, after learning that I was only kidding myself all this while and have silly expectations.
I exhaled sharply and looked up at Russelli. "Are you still with your Yvonne now?" I asked and he nodded and looked at me curiously. "Then why have you suddenly lost all your emotions? Don't you feel you have been missing something?" I asked him in a furious voice.
He was silent for a while and shook his head. "Not at all."
This was driving me crazy!
I held the space between my brows, if I continue this way, I will go now where. "It is okay," I told him, but It was more like I was consoling myself. "I as a musician, have to find out the reason why a person who has emotions in his past songs, suddenly lost it, so don't let it bother you that I asked these questions."
He nodded and I saw them go ahead and continue. "Can I listen to your last album again?"
"Yes." He played the record on his phone and we both looked at each other as we listened to it. I supported my chin with my hands and I wanted to search for a clue, so I started speaking again.
"You see, your emotions were shown here, makes me wonder who it was dedicated to since it is a love song."
"I sang it with Yvonne, so it is obvious that it is dedicated to her." He responded quickly and I raised my brow, it was obvious that I was right, they have messed up his brains.
All these questions I asked, he has never mentioned Malinda, he can't think straight and it all boils down to one thing, the memories he had with me has been washed away, how can he forget me so completely, it hurts.
"Can I make up for my song and emotions?" The sound of his voice pulled me from my thoughts and I stared at him for a while. I knew that was the reason he was here.
I closed my eyes and then an idea came to my mind. I opened my eyes and looked at him. It was time to kill two birds at a time, a time to make up for the past, a time to find out the clues I want and still keep him by my side.
"I will teach you how to have emotions in music," I told him and I watched his eyes become round in surprise. "Since we are doing the duet together, I will teach you to be an expert just as I am." I saw him beam, a huge smile on his face, and I couldn't help but smile too.
"You mean you would be doing the music?" He asked for confirmation, still with that smile that makes him look like a kid asking his parents for confirmation on the chocolate he has been expecting.
"I have no options since you are already here and I can see a very great person in you and I know that you have talents, so let's work together." I stretched out my hand and he shook it.
"Thank you so much."
I only wish at this moment that I was not letting my emotions get the best of me, I was happy seeing his smiles even though I knew he couldn't remember me.
I withdrew my hands and touched my hair as I looked away from him, his smile still had an effect on me. I knew I should not rush into things now and find more out. "There is no need to thank me. Let me have the document and show me where to sign."
He showed me the document and he was still smiling as I glanced through it and signed the document. I looked at him while he was signing his signature too and my heart leapt for joy. He was alive, all I had to do now was make him remember me.
