I was at the house. I was getting a little bored, as I waited for Lara. I know maybe this was the best thing right now. I wanted her to go through all this.
I am so glad that Vincent loves me and that he will be back. But it still hurts that he has to do so much to just be with me even after being the biggest Mafia.
And here I am. I have just no idea what Chris will do. What if Vincent comes back and I am not here anymore? He will surely feel guilty that he couldn’t protect me.
I shook my head. I should think about good things.
The doorbell finally rang and my heart leaped with joy. I was gonna meet her!
I smiled at myself and made my way towards the door. I opened it and there she was.
“Hey!” I smiled and hugged her. She hugged me back and more tightly.
“Hey, Ashley! I missed you”
“I missed you too”
She smiled and went inside. “Ah finally I made it here!”
“Yep, that’s what I was thinking. Finally!”
She sat on the couch and I sat beside her. “Are you hungry?”
“Ah no. Let’s talk for some time!”
“Sure! Now you are not gonna leave soon anyway”
“Aha sure”
We laughed and talked for some time. She sounded a little nervous but maybe it was because we were meeting after a long time. “So how are things with you and Victor?” I asked her.
“Great. He recently proposed for our marriage”
“Wow that’s great”
“Yeah!” She laughed. “I am so excited. But tell me, what happened to you and Vincent?”
“Well, we are good, but he had some work to do. Actually…” I sighed. I didn’t wanna hide anything from her so I started. “There is someone who wants to keep us apart… and well he is gonna fight with him… that is all I know actually”

“Yep” I smiled.

“But there is something you should know” she sounded sad.
“What happened?” I asked her.

She took out some file from her suitcase. “This”

I opened it and my heartbeat raced as I read the headings.

“There is no mistake,” she looked down. “I am confident”

“Let’s cook together” I kept the file down and walked to the kitchen.
I was laughing but deep inside, I was wondering if any of it could be true. I mean, Lara brought it so there has to be some truth in it.
but my heart just can’t accept the fact that he can ever do this. There has to be a mistake. but I don’t think that Lara will lie and she said that she was confident.
Uh, this is so confusing. I would have asked him but I have no idea when he will return and this all is making me restless. I have to know the truth.
“So…” I said to her, as she took out the ingredients for making a cake. “Where did you get the file?”
She was a little nervous as she looked at me. “U-Uh, I… got it from the archive of crime”
“Archive or crime?”
“Uh… there--ah! Victor! He had access to the criminal files… as he became a senior police officer… so… he handed me the files”
“Oh” I was a little suspicious. “He is in the Police?”
“yeah…”
“Alright” I sighed. “That’s good work”
“Yeah”

“Okay…” I sighed.
