I was at the hotel reception in Paris, as I came here with Heather. Heather wanted to go to Paris suddenly, and she also booked the tickets herself for both of us! Well, it is okay, she has major mood swings anyway.
I was taking the room card from the reception in the hotel when suddenly I felt someone’s eyes on me. I turned around and saw… Ashley.
I was really shocked and numb for a moment. She looked at me with the same blank emotions; I never expected her to be here. I mean, out of all countries, and out of all cities, and then out of all hotels… is it a coincidence? Can it be?
I was gonna go to her when I heard Heather.
I turned around and she smiled at me.
“Anything wrong, Chris?”
“Nah”
“Then let’s go. Have you taken the card?”
“Yup”
“Okay”
She smiled and took my hand. Then she took my hand to her face and kissed it. “Let’s go”
I nodded and started moving. Somewhere everything happening in front of her didn’t seem right. But I had to do it… or I made a choice to do it. Cause I can’t just stop or leave someone. I should not be confused by my own feelings. Fuck, how can I forget what she did to me? She fucking cheated on me! Oh God, I literally was forgetting it looking at her face!
She looked at me with an innocent expression. It looked as if she had a thousand things to say but didn’t want to and couldn’t because of certain things. Maybe she was in the same position, but she had cheated on me, so she just deserves hell!
I decided to make her more jealous cause anyone can know from her look that she was jealous of Heather. I stopped Heather from going to the lift, instead pulled her close and stole a small quick kiss. I smirked at her and she was blushing. I slowly looked towards her and she was looking at me with moistened eyes. We were far, so I am not sure, but from her face, she looked as if she was on the verge of crying.
She turned around and then I saw someone near her. It was someone new, I don’t know him. He took her hand and I felt jealousy burning up in me. I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with me. How can I be JEALOUS!? I should be happy that I am no longer in the hands of a cheater.
I went to the lift and then up with Heather. I know it is gonna be a mess staying in the same hotel as her but I have to be strong and endure this. I know it is gonna take some time but I am gonna show her that I am over her.
Heather looked at my tensed face.
“Chris? Something is definitely bothering you, right?”
“Ah, nothing Heath!”
I smiled and she smiled back. I cannot tell her, of course, I can tell nothing to her. She is my girlfriend and Ashley is my ex and I should get that into my head. I should have no feelings for her, and I should have all of my love for Heather.
The lift stopped and we got out. We went to our room, which was 321.
The room was settled soon and we sat down.
“Can I sleep, babe?” I asked her.
“Why are you asking me?” she laughed.
“Oh, I thought otherwise, what if you think, see we came all the way here, to sleep!”
She laughed. “Ah, you are so cute. Why would I think that? Now come on, let’s sleep”
I smiled and she switched off the light. Then she laid beside me and slept in my arms.

I came back and saw her staring at something. I looked in the direction of her eyes and saw it was not something, but someone. Chris. That Chris.
I went to her and found out that her eyes were moistened. Why Ashley? Am I not loving you enough?
I knew maybe it was because people take time getting over their past relationships so I totally understand it. I took her hand and then we went to our room.
She was suddenly sad and all the happiness from her face has faded. I know she thinks I don’t know and even if I will ask her, she is not gonna tell me. I don’t want to force her to open up to me.
I sat beside her and she looked at me and smiled. I knew it was a fake one, but I kept a hand on her face and smiled back.
“You look exceptionally beautiful today”
She blushed a little and smiled. “Thanks, Vincent”
“Is something bothering you?” I wanted to at least try.
“Um… no, I mean… yes. But um… I just want you here and it will be fine”
“And I am here” I smiled at her words. It is right that she doesn’t wanna open up about it. Why would she? It isn’t something that couples should talk about. I mean, we aren’t that close to talk about our past loves and exes. But she is at least not hiding her feelings and I am quite impressed by that fact.
“Oh Vincent, I love you so much”
I smiled at her. “I love you more, my wife”
