Chapter 101 Plaything
Nick's attitude is like a paradox. It's contradictory.
It's hard for Bob to guess what lay beneath Mr. Cage's unfathomable thoughts for so many years.
Veronica Parker fell asleep until it was dark and Nick Cage returned to Winter Villa.
A black Rolls-Royce stopped outside the manor. Veronica Parker heard the sound of the engine, and her eyes opened slowly. At a leisurely pace, she looked around.
She stood up and supported her body. She held her head high as Veronica's line of sight fell with the incoming Nick Cage. Suddenly, there are big waves inside her that made her giddy. With the deep and intense gaze of Nick, coupled with his sharp black eyes, anyone would fall for him.
Veronica was excited and rolled off the sofa.
"Ah!" She shouted when her butt landed on the marbled floor. Then, she got up again, supported herself on the coffee table using her hand. Stood up, staggered towards Nick Cage, and finally stopped him in front of him. "Hey, can I go back now? You can't keep me locked up all the time, can you? "
"Why not?" Nick Cage stared at her impassively.
"What? You're heartless, you keep on doing this even if you're well-aware that detention is illegal. Why are you holding me like this? What on earth are you doing?" Veronica Parker struggled to speak and gasped for breath. "I'm sorry, what happened last night was my fault. I shouldn't have sprayed you with water, but I drank too much and made a mistake on the spur of the moment. Will you stop arguing with an intoxicated woman?"
Bob, who stood not far away, glanced at Nick Cage's face. It was far fetched for him to imagine Mr. Cage being sprayed with water.
'This girl has a lot of nerve. What's surprising is he's unexpectedly unscathed.'
Nick Cage responded with a cold glance, turned, and headed for the kitchen.
Veronica Parker looked at the tall and well-defined figure of Nick, his well-built curves often visible through clothing. However, all his good qualities and unparalleled fineness didn't dispel her anxiousness and made her angrier.
She followed past him, entered the living room, and saw the delicacies on the table.
Nick sat down at the table and began to eat in an elegant and cultured manner.
Veronica has been hungry for three days. It is an understatement to say that she's starving- she's famished. When she saw the food, not to mention delicious food, her stomach growled, and she longed to eat heaping plates of this scrumptious food.
But the most important thing at present is not to eat, but to leave.
"I know it was wrong to drink last night, but I was really sad. I also know that I shouldn't have thrown up the food. It's my fault and I know that it didn't only happen once. I made a thousand mistakes. Why don't you let me go back? I can't be here all the time."
Nick Cage looked at her coldly. "Don't you know I'm eating?"
"Then I'll go back at once and disappear from your eyes. Isn't it even more comfortable?" Veronica begged him pitifully, glanced away from the food from time to time.
Nick Cage's chilling black eyes are enigmatic. "Is it the same way Chloe Bowen used to seduce men?"
Veronica Parker frowned and gasped weakly, and she knew that the moment that she defended Chloe in this situation would only make things worse.
In Nick Cage's heart, Chloe is a damned person including Veronica as her daughter.
Also, there is no point in her refusal. Why is she the one making the offer?
"Maybe you can call Chloe right now and ask her how to make a man happy. Or better yet, how to make a man feel better in bed."
Veronica Parker's pale face flushed with Nick's humiliation. "Nick Cage, don't go too far! I'm not your plaything!"
Nick sneered incredulously at her. His black eyes were cold. "Is this what you called sincerity? It's quite different from how you should beg me, huh?"
Sincerity? Veronica Parker thinks his sincerity is deep enough. what else?
He stood up in front of Veronica. His intimidating tall figure hovered over her, and the pressure made it harder for her to breathe.
He tightly held her chin as he pinched her with his powerful fingers. Her delicate skin felt the rough feeling of his touch. Contradictory to his impassive expression that made her chill, his warm touch sent pleasure to her. Right then and there, Veronica knew how dangerous it is for her to be in close contact with Nick.
"You are right, you are my plaything. You are my toy who will submissively heed to my order. On the floor, on the sofa, in the bathroom, or even in the hallway. It's up to me to decide whether to play with you in the garden, on the couch, in the kitchen, in the car, or the driveway."
