Clara’s POV
I cannot believe that I am pregnant. “You should have told me,” I said to Angeline.
“I love surprises,” Angeline giggles in my head. I smiled at her and looked out the window. After Erik told me what had happened, I rested for more hours; now it was lunch.
My stomach growled, and I laughed. I touched my belly and whispered. “Are you hungry little one? Me too”
I got out of bed and entered the bathroom. Erik waited for me to sleep before returning to his office. They were tracking Klaus down, and I heard Ian was blaming himself when I lost consciousness. I should talk to him, but I know that everyone knows already.
After taking a shower, I wore a simple dress and some flats. I left the room and headed to Erik’s office. I knocked, but no one answered, so I entered, but no one was there, and the office was empty.
“Where are you?” I mind-linked Erik.
“I’m at the pack house, my love,” I said while walking towards the kitchen, and there was no one there. Usually, Ellie is here cooking for us.
I sat down at the dining table, feeling lonely, and I felt my eyes water. I was not too fond of this, and I couldn’t seem to find anyone, so I sobbed in the kitchen.
“What’s wrong, my love?” Erik asked, but I decided to block him.
I just sat at the dining table in the kitchen and cried. “Is this what they say? That if you are pregnant, your hormones always act up?” I thought.
I sighed and wiped my tears. I stood up and looked at what I could cook in the refrigerator. I saw some eggs and took three. I also took some sausages from the fridge. I was frying my food when Erik came to the kitchen with a worried look.
“I felt your emotions. What’s wrong?” Erik asked, rushing towards me.
“Nothing,” I said using my stern voice. I didn’t even bother to look at him since I was mad.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Erik asked again.
I did not reply and stayed quiet. “Babe?” He asked while leaning close to me.
“I’m cooking!” I snarled at him. He was surprised and stepped back for a minute.
“What’s wrong?” He asked softly. I couldn’t contain my anger any longer, and I pushed him away, wanting to run away.
He grabbed my hand and turned me to face him. “Please tell me what’s wrong?”
“Want me to tell you what’s wrong?! I woke up by myself, went to the kitchen, and no one was there. I went to your office, and you were not there! No one is here! I am all by myself! I don’t want to eat by myself!” I exclaimed to him while my tears were continuously falling from my eyes.
I walked towards the dining table and sat there, crying. Erik followed me and sat beside me. “I’m sorry, I’ll eat with you every day,” He said sweetly.
“Do what you want,” I said softly, having no strength to argue. I calmed down and faced Erik again.
“I hate this,” I whined, wiping my tears.
“It’s okay, baby, I’m here. I’m sorry,” He said and hugged me tightly.
Weirdly, I will get angry like that. I always control my emotions and act properly. It was the second time that I shouted at Erik.
I stood up and continued cooking my food. “Let me,” Erik offered.
“It’s okay, you’re busy,” I said and started frying the eggs and sausages.
Erik grabbed my hand and slowly let it go. “I’m sorry for letting you feel that you are alone, my love. Please, at least let me cook you some food,” Erik said while looking at me sincerely.
I sighed and smiled at him. “It’s already cooking,” I said. “I know this won’t satisfy you. What do you want to eat?” He asked, smiling. I giggled and pouted at him.
“Spaghetti with big meatballs,” I said softly. He chuckled and kissed my forehead. He motioned for me to sit and wait at the dining table.
I sat there and watched him cook with a smile on my face. My loneliness and bitterness were instantly gone by this mate of mine. I know I’m not being reasonable. I don’t know why I suddenly felt like that, and it was as if someone else was in me. I never felt bitter like that. I sighed and continued watching my beautiful mate. His t-shirt clings to his body, and you can see his biceps in his every move.
He glanced at me, and I unconsciously licked my lips while looking back at him. I saw his wolf for a second, but he immediately masked it. He returned his focus to cooking my food, and I smirked at his cute actions.
In a few minutes, my gorgeous mate walked towards the dining table, holding a plate full of food in each hand. The plate is full of spaghetti, and the other plate has eggs and sausages on it.
Seeing the food in front of me made me smile brightly. Erik shook his head while smiling at my reaction. I started eating the food, and my body moved on its own. I danced at the delicious taste of the spaghetti.
“Delicious?” Erik asked. “Soooo delicious,” I said, acting like a child. Erik laughed and sat beside me.
I suddenly felt sad and stopped eating. I looked at Erik, and he looked back at me with worried eyes. “I’m sorry,” I said, trying my best not to cry.
“It’s okay, baby, I understand,” he hugged me.
“I just don’t know why I felt that way, and the food is so delicious,” I said tremblingly.
Erik’s POV
I was surprised at Clara today. She was so emotional, but it was cute. She was like a baby. Even after tasting the food, she acted like a kid that received some candy. I didn’t have problems with her working like this since I know it’s her hormones. I encountered some mothers who were emotional at the pack.
“It’s okay, babe. Finish your food, and let’s go to the office if you want to come with me,” I said and offered her to come with me to the office since she quickly got lonely.
She nodded and continued gobbling her food. I should tell mom and the others to cook healthy foods for Clara since she is bearing my heir. I want her pregnancy to have no problems.
Now that I think about it, Clara is starting to get fat, it is still not visible to others, but I always see her body up close, so I know. I never mind about it since I’ll always love her regarding her size.
I stare at my excellent mate as she gobbles her food hungrily. I shook my head while smiling. Who can resist that kind of cuteness? She licked her lips and looked at me after finishing all her food. That look means only one thing, another serving of food. “You have eaten too many, sweetheart,” I said sternly.
“One more, please,” Clara said while pouting. “You’ll eat again later,” I said with finality. I picked up her plate from the table and put it in the kitchen. Wash everything and put it in the dishwasher. I glanced back at Clara, and she was pouting in her seat. I sighed and wiped my hands before returning to her side.
“You need to rest for a while, and then I’ll serve you food again,” I explained, and she just nodded.
I offered my hand to her, and she took it with a smile. We made our way towards my office since I still had work to do and some meetings. I will be waiting for Ian to come and report to me regarding the recent incidents.
I’ve been thinking, “How did they know that Clara was pregnant? How can they get information in our territory when we already have a barrier? Do we have a rat inside?”
“Liam,” I called my wolf while Clara and I were working towards my office.
“What?”
“Observe everyone I meet, anyone from the pack, and look for something suspicious,” I ordered.
“Sure,” Liam said.
The recent incidents replayed in my memories. They could quickly enter our premises without our knowledge and get some information. Someone from the pact is giving some news or a traitor from the beginning that it was planted here to spy on us.
We arrived at the office, and Clara opened the door. We entered, and I sat on my chair while Clara sat comfortably on the sofa.
“I’m at my office,” I mind-linked Vincent.
“Right on time. Ian just came back.”
“Send him to my office,” I ordered.
“Yes, your majesty,” He replied, then blocked the link. He may be mind-linking Ian to go straight here to my office.
I looked at Clara, who was feeling sleepy. “Babe, you should rest in our room,” I said.
“I’ll wait for you,” She said with a yawn. She slumped her back to the sofa and smiled at me.
I heard someone knock. “Come in,” I said. Ian entered the office, walked, and stood in front of me. He bowed, “Your majesty,” He greeted.
“Report,” I said with a threatening voice. I could not contain my anger when I remembered Clara being unconscious.
“Their tract stopped at the territory of Alpha Louis,” Ian said. I greeted my teeth with anger and looked at Ian.
“Call the captains of our troops. We will attack Alpha Louis, don’t let this word go out since we still don’t know who the rat is,” I said.
“A rat, sire?” Ian asked, and I nodded.
“Yes, move discreetly,” I ordered. Ian bowed and left the office.
I glanced at Clara, trying her best to fight her sleepiness. “Come, my love, I will come to you in our bedroom,” I said, and she nodded. She stood and offered her hand to me, which I gladly took. We walked to our bedroom holding hands.
Clara entered the bedroom and slumped her body on our bed. I tucked her in and kissed her forehead. “Won’t you sleep with me?” She asked, yawning.
I shook my head slightly. “I will have a meeting with the captains, and we will attack Alpha Louis,” I explained.
“Okay, be careful, okay?” She said softly, and I smiled.
Her droopy eyes slowly closed, and I kissed her forehead again. I ensured she was tucked in properly before changing to the throne room. After changing my clothes, I quietly left the room not to disturb Clara from her sleep.
I headed towards the throne room and saw Vincent standing beside my seat. He bowed, and I nodded, acknowledging his greeting. I sat on my throne, and we waited for Ian to come with the captains. In a few minutes, Ian entered the throne room alongside the captains.
They walked towards me until they became close. They bend their knee with their head bowing. “Your majesty, congratulations on having an heir” They greeted and said their congratulations.
I nodded, and they all stood properly in front of me. “I hope you haven’t forgotten what you came here for,” I said coldly.
“Of course, your majesty, we are prepared to go out any time,” One of the captains said, and I smirked.
“Good. Prepare for battle, and I want Alpha Louis’s head,” I ordered.
They all bowed and accepted their task. “We have a rat. Well, I’m not sure if it’s really a rat or we have someone here that is not fully trained and giving information carelessly,” I said with a threatening voice.
“Start your march discreetly, not giving the rat a chance to tell on us and present the head of Alpha Louis before me,” I ordered.
“Yes, your majesty!” They all said in unison with complete confidence in their voice and determined faces.
They all left the throne room, and at that moment, Tia entered. “You will be responsible for looking for the rat,” I said. She nodded, and I looked at Vincent.
“Lead the troops, and you know what to do. Don’t let them get away, and make sure their deaths will not be easy,” I said while greeting my teeth full of anger.
“Will do, your majesty,” Vincent said while bowing with an evil smile. The Alpha and Luna left the throne room, leaving me by myself.
“I am getting tired of all these enemies,” I mumbled and sighed.
