My Alpha Mate Chapter 26

Clara's POV "How dare you betray us! I took you in, and this is how you repay me?!" My father shouted. Klaus walked around and then stopped to look at my father. He smirked, "Took me in? As a what? As a servant?" Klaus scoffed and spit at my father. My father growled at him while my mother was in front of me, protecting me. "Mom, What's happening?" I asked, sobbing. "Shh, baby, everything will be alright. Your father and I will protect you no matter what," She said, wiping off my tears that kept falling. My mother then faced Klaus, standing in front of the rogues. "Servant?! I treated you like a son!" My father retorted back. I kept staring at Klaus, looking at any signs that he was possessed, but no matter how long I looked, It is him. Klaus laughed at my father and laughed at what he said. "Stop joking around," Klaus said, trying to stop his laughter. "Tell me, Klaus, what is your purpose?" My father asked with sincerity in his voice. "Nothing much, It's just your daughter," Klaus replied and looked me straight into my eyes. I trembled at his stare, and he never looked at me that way. What happened to you, Klaus? "You bastard!" My father shouted and attacked Klaus. When my father attacked, the warriors joined in, and my mother grabbed my hand and dragged me away from the bloody fight. I kept looking back, hoping to see a different scene, but whenever I looked back, it was the same. "Come on, daughter, we have to go," My mother told me when I stopped running. "What about dad?" I asked. "He will be fine, now let's go," She said and started dragging me again. We ran until we reached my parent's room and pulled the torch on the wall. The bricks moved and revealed an entrance. We walked a couple of steps when my mother let go of my hand, touching the wall, looking for something. She pressed one of the bricks, and another entrance opened. She grabbed me and pushed me to the door, "Drink this. It will remove your scent for a week and be enough for you to escape and go to your brother." She said, caressing my head, fixing my bangs and putting it behind my ear, touching my cheek, and looking at me sadly. "Mom, don't go, please," I said while sobbing, begging her not to leave me here. "Remember what I taught you. Remember everything. Be strong; no matter what happens, your father and I are proud of you and love you very much." My mother said, her tears starting to fall. "Your father needs me, and I'll return to his side, be safe, my daughter, live, and be happy. I will always be here inside of you," She said, pointing at my heart. She sniffed, wiped her tears, and I just looked at her, sobbing. I couldn't say anything. I just nodded at her and drank the potion she gave me. "I love you mom, I also love dad," I said. I couldn't help but sob more. Before closing all the secret entrances, my mother hugged and kissed me one last time. I crouched down and covered both of my ears, trying not to hear the voices of my pack members getting killed. All I could do was sit there and cry. The shouting of my pack members kept on going until it got quiet. I heard the bricks move, and the first entrance was opened. I saw some shadow moving at the bottom of the entry in front of me. I moved my hands from my ears to my mouth. I also held my breath, scared to be found. I forced myself to stop crying, hoping they wouldn't hear me. Eventually, the shadows disappeared, and I listened to the bricks close. I breathed, trying to catch my breath. I was about to go out but was too scared, thinking they would still be outside. I stayed in the empty room where my mother left me, praying they would be gone. "Angeline, I'm scared." I sobbed. "Don't be. I am here, dear, I am here," She said. I just sat there and cried, I don't know how many hours passed, but I just stayed there quietly, crying, forcing myself to be okay—thinking I needed to be strong. I woke up and didn't notice that I had fallen asleep. I could feel the puffiness of my eyes. I don't know how many hours it has been, but I am still scared to go out. "It's okay, and you are safe now," someone said. I thought it was Angeline, but the voice was calmer and softer. I was confused, but I decided to push confusion to the back of my head. I decided to go out after contemplating for minutes. I looked for something on the brick, some brick that could be pushed. I successfully found it, pushed it, and peeked outside. I was hoping not to find some rouges lingering around. I quietly walked until I reached the torch, pulled it, and the wall opened. I was still inside the secret passage, but I could tell countless dead bodies were outside. I mustered all my courage and went out. Familiar faces were on the ground, lifeless. I was forcing myself not to cry, trying my best to be strong. I walked and gulped at seeing many dead bodies on the ground. As I walked, I panicked and rushed to where I last saw my father. I entered the hall. It was horrifying, full of dead bodies and blood everywhere. My whole body trembled at the horrific sight before me. I forced my legs to move, looking for my parents, and there it was. My father's body was full of injuries, and it was evident that he still fought until his last breath, his eyes wide open. My mother's hand was trying to reach my father but couldn't make it, and I saw them lifeless. I couldn't believe what I was looking at. My parents, who were just beside me, joking around and laughing with me, are now on the ground, lifeless. My knees felt weak and gave in, and I fell kneeling with both of my knees. I grabbed my dad with all my strength and did the same with my mother. Their bodies were cold, and my tears fell. I cried and cried until my cries could be heard throughout the place. I let it all out, crying with everything I got. "No, no! Mommy, daddy, no!" I sobbed. I cried while hugging both of them. "Why, why! I can't, no, mommy! Daddy! No, please! Open your eyes!" I said, praying that they would wake up, but whenever I tightened my hug to them, I felt their cold bodies reminding me that they were gone. "Aggggh! Aaaaagh!" I keep on sobbing, letting all my emotions out. I didn't care whether someone would hear me, but I just kept on crying, shouting, begging that they would wake up. "Clara," I heard someone whisper and glanced at the person. It was my brother, standing at the door looking pale. I gritted my teeth and shook my head left and right. I was telling him that everyone was gone. His eyes grew big, and he ran to my side, crouched down, and looked at our father. He was staring, not moving an inch, and had no reactions, just staring at the dead body of our father. I removed my hands from my mother and squeezed them on his shoulder. He blinked, grabbed our father, and hugged him. I started to cry again when I heard my brother's sobs. I moved closer to him and hugged him while holding my mother. "Who is it?!" My brother asked, gritting his teeth because of anger. He was so furious that he showed me his killing intent. I gulped, trying to find words in my throat but only sobbed when being heard. I swallowed again and looked him straight in the eyes, "Klaus," I managed to say the name, but it came out as a whisper. Vincent's face went pale, and his eyes grew big, surprised that Klaus managed to betray us. Something told me that Vincent had realized something, and he hugged me. "We can't stay for long, I'm going to bury them, and we will leave immediately," He said, instructing me using his stern voice. I broke the hug and looked at my lifeless mother. Vincent hugged our father and laid him on the floor slowly. I followed what he did and laid my mother's dead body beside our father. I took both of their hands and linked them together. I sat there looking at my parents, didn't dare to move, and blinked my eyes. Vincent started collecting the dead bodies and putting them in one place, carefully considering their bodies. I just sat there, staring at everything and looking at the dead bodies of my pack members. I didn't remember sleeping, but I woke up on a sofa in the pack hall, I looked at the surroundings, and the dead bodies were gone. Only the blood stain remained. I went outside and heard someone digging the ground, and there I saw my brother burying the dead bodies of my pack members. I walked towards him slowly, without energy, until I noticed two graves close together. I looked at Vincent, who was looking back at me, and smiled sadly. I realized it was my parent's grave. I sat beside their graves without any reaction and watched Vincent finish burying the bodies. Vincent walked towards me and sat down at the other side of the grave. I touched my parents' grave, trying to feel them one last time. "We have to go," My brother said. I looked at the grave of my parents and smiled sadly. "I'll come back holding the head of Klaus," I said, lifeless. Suddenly, the surroundings changed. - I looked around and saw nothing, and I was confused about how I got here when I was with my brother heading to his pack, the strongest pack of all, The Silver Growler's pack. "Silver growler," I whispered. I was voicing out my thoughts when suddenly, I remembered everything, our pack, the war, and my mate, my beautiful mate, Erik. "The engagement!" I gasped. The last thing that I remember was after Erik proposed to me, I felt some intense pain in my head. "Why are you running away?" Someone asked. I was surprised to look around, but there was nothing there. It was full of darkness, and I was the only person there. I kept on thinking about where I heard this voice, a calm and soft voice, a voice that I couldn't resist. "Who are you?" I asked while looking around. "Hello?" I asked again, hoping that it would reply. Was I running away? Why would I run away? Asking myself. I kept looking around and decided to walk, thinking maybe there was some door for me to go out to. I walked carefully, scared I'd bump into something since I could not see anything. I walked until I stumbled on something causing me to fall. "Aghhhh!" I shouted, looking at the dead body of one of my former pack members. "W-why, w-what," I said with a trembling voice. I quickly crawled away from the body. "Why are you running away?" Someone asked again. I stopped crawling and looked around, but there was no one. "Who are you? Why are you showing me this?" I shouted, asking the one that couldn't show itself. I crouched down, hugged my knees, and hid my face on my knees. "Angeline, where are you? I'm scared," I pleaded to my wolf. "Why are you running away?" someone asked. I heard the voice in front of me, so I raised my head. I saw a beautiful woman smiling down at me. My scared self calmed down at the sight of her. She was standing in the air, and her aura was glowing. She gave me these calm and motherly vibes, and my inner self told me she was not an enemy. I heard her voice countless times in my head; she was the woman I think I saw in the mirror. "Who are you?" I asked, looking at her from below. I asked her softly, not wanting to anger her. She smiled and went down from the air. "I'm the mother of all, Evangeline," She said, using her sweetest voice. I gasped and whispered. "Moon Goddess"
