Katherine Thrones
Today, after school, I decided to stay at my apartment and study for our forthcoming exams. And I hate to admit it, but the only reason why I was studying was because I had nothing else to do; Katie had to go visit her mother—unfortunately, I can't relate to that, and Alexander wasn't at home.
Which is weird.
For a long time now, Alexander has always been at home. He rarely went out with his friends or clubbing or whatever. His routine is now simple. He goes to school every day because he was usually fond of skipping school. He gets back home and relaxes alone or sometimes studies. Whenever he had a game, he would leave for it and come back home immediately.
I feel it's a bit of a brag if I accord his drastic changes to my name and influence, but it's glaring that I'm the reason why he has adopted this new behavior.
Katie also noticed that, and according to her analysis, it meant that Alexander was falling for me and the right time to strike was approaching quickly, but honestly speaking, I don't know how to go about it.
This was the real reason I started dating Alexander; to avenge all the girls he had played with, including my best friend, and break his heart in return. But at this rate, it's very glaring to see that my plan has started going south.
Anyways, that's a matter for a different day. Right now, I have to complete my quota for today so I can make up for the times I've slacked off.
But of course, things don't always go the way we planned them because the moment I was about to start reading the next chapter, I heard a knock on the door. I groaned, shut my book, and then got up from my reading table.
"I'm coming!" I yelled and put on my flip–flops, then walked to the door and opened it.
Lo and behold, it was Alexander. To tell the truth, I was quite expecting it, I had no other friends other than he and Katie, and I knew Katie was out of town with her mother.
Now what I didn't expect was to see Alex the way he mesmerizingly presented himself on my porch. Of course, I couldn't control my reaction and my jaw immediately dropped on sighting him.
He was in a crisp blue–checked shirt; sleeves folded to his elbows and the ends tucked into his black trousers. This was the third time I was seeing Alex in an actual shirt with a collar and my reactions were the same on all occasions.
Me saying he looked hot was a genuine understatement. He had his hair touched up, he had gelled it up into a side-swept hairstyle and it was stunning! Not to mention, he was holding a rose flower bouquet and a note card in his hand as well…oh, and the killer smile as well.
My jaw shut back, making room for a new expression to take over my features, one of surprise and sheer confusion. Why was Alexander in front of my house at seven pm, all dressed up with flowers and a card?
"What's going on?" I questioned, remembering I had forgotten to be civil enough to render a greeting, but that didn't matter at this point. What matters is what the occasion for this surprise was.
"And Good evening to you too, Katya." His sarcasm was whole and tangible and I rolled my eyes, I knew he was going to make a big deal out of it.
I leaned on my doorframe and sighed, "What do you want, Alex?" I questioned with a playful giggle.
He chuckled, "Well, I came to ask you out on a date and I'm wearing my Sunday best. I bought you some flowers and a cheesy card. Y'know, doing things I don't usually do so you can say yes." Alexander said and stretched out the bouquet to me with a smile.
I smiled as well at his completely unromantic proposal and accepted his flowers. "Thank you and you need to take lessons on how to ask a girl out on a date."
"It doesn't matter how bad my skills are, at least you accepted my flowers and you're going on a date with me," Alexander defended.
"I haven't said yes yet, Alex. I just accepted the flowers, I think they'll look cute with this new blue case my father sent to me." I smirked at him and then entered my apartment. He followed after me.
"So why don't you want to say yes?" He questioned as he sat on my couch.
I went to the blue vase that sat on one of the tables in my living room, then set the roses beside it. I needed to fill it with water first.
"Well for starters, I don't know where you're going to take me," I replied, then went to the kitchen with the vase and put enough water in it from the tap.
"What if I want to keep it a secret?" Alexander asked as I returned back into the room with the vase.
He wanted to surprise me with a secret date. Granted, the idea of that sounded fascinating and beautiful, but I still have to be weary about that. I need to know what he has in store so I'd let him know on time if I feel it's a bit too much or overwhelming for me.
He has to know that the two of us are quite different entities and are not at all on the same wavelength. I'm a quiet and minimal type of girl and he likes to go wild.
"No, you have to tell me. I want to know." I said to him as I set the vase on the table. I arranged the flowers in it and they looked beautiful.
"It's a surprise. Just pack up because we're going to be staying for a few days." Alexander stated, and I instantly swung around to face him in shock and surprise, my jaw dropped.
"A few days?" I said and proceeded to laugh after. "What do you have in mind, Alexander Walters?" I asked playfully, clipping my hands to my waist.
His lips curved into a smirk, "You'll see. And you'll love it." He assured me and I could only help but wonder what he truly had in store for me.

"Hell No!" I refused sternly. There was no way I would agree to it. "I won't accept to share a room with you, Alexander!"
Remember when I said Alexander and I weren't on the same wavelength? Well, we actually aren't. I was happy when Alexander told me that we would be going to Maldives and staying at a beach resort. Even though it was a longer period than I expected, I had no problem with it— after all, I was spending time with my 'boyfriend'.
So I agreed. But now that we're here, Alexander is telling me he booked just one room for us and we are going to share it! Impossible. So many things could go wrong with the two of us being in close proximity and I'm trying to keep my raging hormones in check these days and thread as lightly as possible.
"Why are you so angry, Katherine? I didn't think you would have a problem with this," Alexander said, and that just heightened my anger the more. How can he say that? He knows me and he knows what I like and what I hate, and these are the kind of things I hate.
"Well, I do. You had better march your feet down to the receptionist and book a second room for me." I said to him and he rolled his eyes.
He let go of his luggage and came closer to me, taking my hand. His little gesture doesn't even waver away a single strand of my anger.
"Okay, I'm sorry about booking a single room for both of us. But the reason for this trip was for us to spend time together and the most efficient way for us to do that is if we spend time together as much as possible. Us being in the same room is the best way for that." He said, trying to reason with me. I still didn't budge regardless. I huffed and looked away from him.
He used his index finger to tilt my face towards him. "I can't book another room now, the rooms are booked ahead and I had to make a payment for this one day before today. So it's impossible. We just have to make do with what we have." He explained calmly. After his explanation, I saw that there was no way around this and that being angry wouldn't solve anything. He can't change it.
"But at least you should've told me about the trip, so I could've told you before the trip that I'd prefer double rooms," I said to him and he gave a cheeky smile.
"Don't you think that would've ruined the surprise?" He said and I was the one rolling my eyes now. "I'm sorry about it, okay? Just please, let's go into the room. I know you're apprehensive because you think something might happen between us while we're together in the room. But I promise, I'll be a gentleman and I'll respect myself. In fact, I'll sleep on the couch." He said and my frown fizzled away, a smile breaking in.
"Promise?" I asked.
He drew his hand away from mine and crossed his two hands over his chest, "I cross my heart." He said in feigned solemnity and it made me laugh.
He joined in the laughter and afterwards, he took both of my hands and stared deep into my eyes. I hated it whenever he did that, because when I focused on those eyes of his, I lost track of everything around me and focus on them. I focus on him.
"Katherine I—" He began and wanted to say something else but I saw him think against it and discard those words, proceeding to say something else. "You're the best girlfriend, ever."
