Multiversal Friendship System Chapter 39

In Kizumonogatari, Meme Oshino once brokered a deal between Koyomi Araragi and the three vampire hunters. Each side wagered something—Kiss-Shot's whereabouts and her severed limbs—engaging in three separate battles. The winner would claim their desired prize. But Souta had no intention of negotiating. After his last attempt at diplomacy with Kurumi in the Baccano! world ended in humiliation, he learned one thing: He sucked at negotiations. With Meme Oshino absent, convincing the vampire hunters to make a bet was practically impossible. So, he wouldn't even bother talking— He'd just beat them into submission! His plan was simple: overwhelming force to seize Kiss-Shot's limbs. "So this is a vampire hunter? Hilarious." Without waiting for them to react, Souta attacked again! The entire right side of his body turned a chilling, purplish-blue. An icy aura radiated from him, sending shivers through the air. "While you were wasting time talking, I was already preparing my attack." Souta smirked tauntingly. "Don't you guys feel like it's gotten a lot colder?" Dramaturgy sensed danger and immediately dropped his dismissive attitude. He shouted to Guillotine Cutter and charged at Souta. But Souta was faster. He stomped forward, and— From the point where his foot landed, thick ice rapidly spread outward. The frozen ground extended instantly, trapping both Dramaturgy and Guillotine Cutter within its reach. The ice climbed up their legs, freezing muscles, halting blood flow, and pushing their bodies toward necrosis. As an ordinary human without supernatural abilities, Guillotine Cutter had no chance—he was frozen into a solid block of ice on the spot. Poor guy didn't even get a chance to fight before Souta took him out of the match. "Hmph! A mere trick!" Dramaturgy's colossal frame twisted, shattering the ice encasing him. Chunks of frozen flesh tore away, but he didn't even flinch. The moment he broke free, he lunged at Souta, shaking the ground beneath his massive footsteps. His arms transformed— Into gigantic, flame-shaped greatswords! Vampires had the ability to shapeshift—turning into mist, darkness, or even altering their own body composition. Dramaturgy had reshaped his arms into massive, blazing swords. Charging forward, he swung his twin blades in a devastating diagonal slash! The air seemed to be split in two, a deafening whoosh resounding from the impact. Souta suppressed the instinct to dodge by rolling away and instead let out a seemingly nonsensical shout, at least from Dramaturgy's perspective. But he wasn't just being a chūnibyō; he was using Dio's energy to psych himself up while activating his time manipulation ability. In the next instant, Dramaturgy's entire body defied inertia and stopped completely still. His fierce expression froze on his face. With the monstrous energy of his vampire body, Souta could halt him for at least five seconds— But he didn't intend to waste that much energy. In just one second, he stepped into Dramaturgy's guard, slipped into his midline, and drove his tightly coiled right fist forward! Several tons of force erupted in a single point! Dramaturgy took a direct hit to the gut. At the exact same moment, Souta released his time stop. The massive vampire's stomach caved in, Souta's fist sinking deep into his abdomen. A pained expression contorted Dramaturgy's face, and a muffled groan escaped his lips. Before he could even process what had happened, the sheer impact launched him backward, slamming him into the icy ground, sending shards of frozen debris scattering. "What... did you just do?!" Dramaturgy roared as he staggered back to his feet. Despite the deep wound in his abdomen, it wasn't as serious as it seemed for someone of his massive physique. Souta, of course, wasn't about to answer that question—who in their right mind explains their skills to an enemy? Instead, he furrowed his brows. Dramaturgy had greater raw strength than him, his attack power was high, and he could take a hit without much issue. Close combat was not an option. After all, if Souta kept slowing time to evade his attacks, he'd run out of energy fast. Sure, even if those flame-shaped greatswords did hit him, he wouldn't die— But it would still hurt like hell! With that in mind, Souta activated time acceleration on himself. In an instant, one second in the outside world became several seconds for him. His already insane vampire speed multiplied several times over. His figure blurred, vanishing from Dramaturgy's view. Within a fraction of a second, he had retreated dozens of meters away. "If close combat won't work—" Souta turned back toward his vampire hunter opponent. "—I'll just attack from a distance." As Dramaturgy turned his glare toward him, Souta casually reached into his pocket. He had thrown his phone aside earlier—yet at some point, it had magically returned to his pocket. A signature trait of the system phone. Meanwhile, Dramaturgy, having regained his stance, was already charging toward him, flaming swords blazing. Souta locked onto him with his vampire-enhanced vision. He tightly gripped the indestructible system phone... and hurled it forward with all his might! Propelled by several tons of force, the phone sliced through the air, whistling at supersonic speeds as it blasted toward Dramaturgy. The flying object struck the charging vampire dead in the eye. His eyeball collapsed inward, part of his skull shattered, and blood splattered everywhere. The massive vampire let out a deep, pained howl. "Oh? This actually works?!" A delighted grin spread across Souta's face as he reached into his pocket again— And pulled out another phone. After quickly taking aim, he hurled the second phone forward— It slammed into Dramaturgy's chest, piercing through his torso, leaving a gaping hole. Souta reached into his pocket once more— And pulled out another phone. Thus began his technique: "Unlimited System Phone Works." As Dramaturgy's expression twisted into sheer despair, Souta fired off five consecutive phone throws. Each directly hit its mark. By the time he snapped back to reality, Dramaturgy was already lying on the ground, defeated. His first real battle had ended in an overwhelming victory. A surge of euphoria welled up in Souta's chest— "Damn... I really am this strong?!" A maniacal grin spread across his face. "I'm so freaking hyped right now—!"
