When Jacob took Alexandra to the nearest cab station, Blair grabbed the chance to prepare herself. They both agreed to avoid intimacy but it wasn’t stated in the contract that she couldn’t initiate it. Before she moved in with him, she already knew that Jacob has a kind heart despite the ruggedness of his behavior sometimes.
For once, she wanted to use her beauty to attract a man. Previously, she despised her looks due to several unwanted attention from men, but lately, she desired Jacob’s attention. Well, since she agreed to become his mistress, it’s only right that she would consider the man as hers.
After taking a quick shower, she pampered her skin with the moisturizer which Carmela gifted to her. She wanted to look sexy in Jacob’s eyes but she didn’t want to be so obvious or trying hard to please him. In the past, several men told her that she took their breath away but it turned out they lied. If they told her the truth, then Jacob would react the same way they did.
Initially, she chose sexy lingerie in red and wore it. The satin cami and its matching shorts in sheer lace would surely send him to the edge…unless he’s gay. What if Jacob’s other cousins were correct? No, it couldn’t be. She convinced herself that there could be another reason why he disliked women before.
A few minutes later, she took off the sexy sleepwear and changed into short-sleeve pajamas in soft knit and dream-worthy prints. The pants fitted her long legs perfectly, and confidently sprawled on the massive bed.
She prepared herself to just sleep when Jacob entered the bedroom. As his mistress, it’s only right that they should in the same bed. The first night was a struggle but she could manage the second night for sure.
Since the light was dimmed, she didn’t bother to acknowledge his presence and pretended to sleep. On half-closed eyes, she saw him walked towards the wardrobe and immediately shut her eyes when Jacob began to undress.
“I know you’re still awake,” he declared after hearing the woman’s loud gasp. “I’ll just take a quick shower,” he said.
What did he mean by that? She wanted to ask but Jacob already went inside the bathroom. Later on, she heard the sound of him taking a shower inside. He should have locked the door so that she wouldn’t have the chance to imagine him with nothing on his body.

When Jacob emerged from the bathroom, she immediately turned to face the wall instead. If the male leads on her favorite romance novels wrapped a towel on their body and leave the abs for viewing, Jacob Gordon was on a different level. How could he come out with nothing on his body while knowing that she’s there?
During the time she worked as his secretary, there were numerous occasions when Jacob was topless, and she’s never seen him naked before. It’s just too shocking for her innocent eyes. “Are you decent now?” She asked when he turned on the lights.
“I’m always decent, Blair.” God, how he disliked the woman’s name. Of all the women who applied as his mistress, why did her mother chose someone who has the same name as his previous secretary? It’s really bothersome! “Do you have a middle name or a nickname?”
“What do you mean?”
“Never mind,” he replied when he saw how confused she was. Perhaps, he should stop thinking about his secretary and focused on the woman he could use to practice his skills around women. “How long are you in this business, Blair?”
“You are my first client, sir.”
Jacob arched his brows and refused to believe her. “Do you know why I’m scared to be intimate with you Blair?”
She shook her head and asked, “Why?”
“Because I’m not sure if you are clean,” he replied without thinking that he could hurt her feelings.
For a moment, she couldn’t speak and just stared at the man who insulted her more than once. “You don’t have to worry about it, sir. After all, we’re not going to do it,” she reminded him and when he nodded, she resumed facing the wall and forced herself to sleep. However, it’s difficult to sleep when she’s furious! Maybe, she shouldn’t fall asleep angry but plot an act of revenge against Jacob Gordon. “I mean, I know you can’t do it because you’re gay,” she said.
Jacob knew about the rumor going around their circles and it’s one of the underlying reasons why his mother insisted that he should get a woman to be always on his side. “So the rumors reached you,” he whispered but the woman didn’t bother to respond.
Blair was terrified after she accused him of being gay but she was greatly offended when he doubted her chastity and innocence. She covered herself with the comforter and just listened to his breathing.
In the morning, her nose was assaulted with the aroma of sautéed squid from the kitchen. Although she knew that he could cook, she didn’t expect him to do it for them. Slowly, she descended from the stairs and went straight to the kitchen.
“Good morning!”
Blair was not accustomed to Jacob being friendly because he’s usually serious and cranky. “Morning,” she replied.
“Can you prepare the juice? The squid is almost done,” he said.
Somehow, the changes in his approach terrified her even more. Nevertheless, she proceeded to the fridge and rummaged the stocks for canned juice. “Four seasons or pineapple?” She asked when she found two variants of the canned juice.
“How about pineapple orange?”
As soon as he mentioned the other flavor from DM, she double-checked the fridge and smiled when she found a can of pineapple orange juice. She also made a mental note to visit the nearest supermarket to get some pantry supplies, then she prepared the glass with ice cubes.
When Jacob served the squid and rice, Blair couldn’t help but stare at him. She’s just like any other girl who admired men that knew their way in the kitchen. Once again, her heart fluttered like she’s a teenager, and she could no longer stop feeling infatuated with Jacob.
“It looks delicious,” she complimented the food based on how he plated it.
Jacob nodded and said, “it's way better than the bland chicken breast we had last night.”
Blair scowled at the man who always found some faults in everything about her! “It was perfect for my taste buds,” she reasoned out but Jacob only shrugged off his shoulders.
He chuckled when Blair tried to get away with her poor cooking skills. “Have more of these,” he said.
She watched his capable hands as he served her with the sautéed squid. “Why are you doing this?”
Jacob smiled at the woman who managed to survive his indifference. The only reason why he’s reserved around her was because of her name. However, it couldn’t be helped anymore. She needed the woman for a shield and the woman needed him for money. It’s just a win-win situation for both of them.
“Let’s try to make our partnership works,” he suggested.
