Time seemed to have stopped at that instant.
Lin Wen Xin stared at Wang Shen Ze in a daze, unable to react to what was happening.
Seeing her stupefied expression, he smiled and gently caressed the side of her face.

Even as she laid on her bed, she kept rolling around and couldn’t stop fantasising about what had happened earlier.

She has even resorted to counting sheep to force herself to get into slumberland.
-Ringing tone-
The sudden sound from her phone was deafening for someone who is half asleep.
Lin Wen Xin picked up the call without bothering to look at the caller ID, “Hello?...”
“Young Mistress! This is bad! Master Lin had a relapse and just got sent to the hospital! The doctor said that he is in a critical condition and is doing an emergency operation for him right now!”
The servant spoke hurriedly and urged her to head down to the hospital as soon as possible.
Lin Wen Xin immediately changed her clothes and ran up to Wang Shen Ze’s room. “Shen Ze...! Shen Ze!”
She frantically searched for him in his bedroom but he was not inside! Then where would he be??...

It was already close to twelve midnight but Wang Shen Ze is still busy with his work as he did not manage to touch any of it throughout the entire day.
When Lin Wen Xin pushed open the door, she saw that he was engaged in a conference call with his subordinates.
“This entire proposal doesn’t make any sense at all! Re-do it now and I want to see it tomorrow morning! Next person!...”
Wang Shen Ze, who is wearing a pair of Bluetooth earphone, was completely immersed in the presentation that he did not notice Lin Wen Xin standing at the door.
She is really in a huge rush right now but seeing that he is hosting an important meeting, Lin Wen Xin did not want to disrupt his work and decided to head to the hospital on her own.

As soon as they arrived, she opened the door and dashed into the hospital, without a care in the world.
The hectic situation in the emergency department was totally not helpful in calming her nerves down.
“I’m sorry, do you know where is Mr Lin Gao Hai? He is currently in an operating theatre, could you let me know where it is?” Lin Wen Xin asked a nurse who is on duty at the registration counter.
“Follow this path and turn to your right, you will see the operating theatre at the end of the hallway.”
“Okay, thank you.” Lin Wen Xin quickly ran there. She saw their house chauffeur and a few servants standing at the corridor.
They walked towards her and guided her to the chairs nearby, “Young Mistress, take a seat first. The operation might still take a while more.”
“Thank you.” Lin Wen Xin immediately collapsed onto the chair as she covered her face with both hands and burst out in tears.

Over at the villa, Wang Shen Ze had just ended his call and it was already half past one.
He walked to the other bedroom opposite of his to check on the progress of the renovation. It still required a little more touch ups before he could get Lin Wen Xin to move up.
Speaking of her, how is she tonight? Is she sleeping well?
Wang Shen Ze headed down to the basement to check on her. He opened the door and navigated to her bed in total darkness.
When he switched on the lamp light, he was surprised to find that she was not there!
He took out his phone and called her, only to hear a ringing tone in the room.
Where did she go, without bringing her phone along??
Half an hour had passed and the servants who were being woken up, were also unable to find Lin Wen Xin in the house.
Wang Shen Ze replayed the CCTV recordings, hoping to trace where she had gone to.
He saw that Lin Wen Xin had ran into his bedroom, and stood outside his study room for a while before dashing out of the villa.
Why didn’t she come in and look for him? And what could have happened, that would make her leave the house at such a late hour?
Wang Shen Ze, who was already worried sick that something might have happened to her, called Yi Fan to find Lin Wen Xin’s whereabouts.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, the doctor has just finished the heart bypass surgery.
He came out to inform Lin Wen Xin that her father’s condition is not looking good due to some complications during the operation.
Lin Gao Hai is currently being pushed into an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward and requires further observation.
As soon as Lin Wen Xin heard that, the servants quickly supported her, in case she falls to the ground.

Lin Wen Xin then instructed the driver and servants to rest at home first while she takes care of him at the hospital.
She held on to her father’s hand, and soon fell asleep for the night.
The next morning, Lin Wen Xin was woken up by a doctor who came to do his rounds in the morning.
“Doctor, how is he?”
The doctor checked his vital signs on the monitor and replied, “He has to wake up on his own within 24 hours, otherwise the situation will not be good.”
Lin Wen Xin looked at her father who was lying motionlessly on the bed. Tears welled up in her eyes once again.
Even after the doctor has left the room, his words kept ringing in her ears.
But because she did not have sufficient rest, Lin Wen Xin fell asleep very quickly as she laid on the sofa that was beside the bed.
“Hire the best team of cardiologists and I want to see them here in 2 hours.” Wang Shen Ze ordered Yi Fan before entering the ward alone.
