In what looked like a private jet with brown interior decors, an older-looking man past his 50s with a few obvious grey hairs looked furious while staring at his phone. He was the same man Shi Wenqian and Zhang Xiaoling was talking about, Mr. Zhang.
The current patriarch of the Zhang family and CEO of Zhang Corp.
Thanks to technology and how proficient it was in circulating rumors related to socialites and celebrities, he just got to see the news of his biological daughter fainting in school and rushed to the clinic.
Not only that, but he also got to see how his reputation could be easily ruined because of it.
He had gone on a business, which actually masked the real deal he went to another city for. He had political ambition, and the meeting looked to be successful.
It was successful that he wanted to come home as soon as possible to break the good news to his family, so he got on the jet and picked up his phone to give a notification for his arrival, only to see the news.
'Is the Zhang family not taking care of her?'
'Is she sick or something?'
'Is she being maltreated?'
All these negative speculations going about on the internet was bad news to the old man, and he had to do something about it. He called his PR team to find out how long it would take to get those articles down.
After he confirmed they were already working on it, he ended the conversation with gritted teeth as he wondered what kind of wife he kept at home.
"I thought you should be intelligent by now, but you still go ahead to make big mistakes at a time like this? Just wait till I get back." He said out loud.
The reason he was very angry was because of his reputation and the danger those articles posed. The meeting to his first step into politics had just worked out, and it was already being threatened.
Mr. Zhang was so angry that he passed a message to the pilot, "Don't you know how to ride this thing faster?!"
Another older-looking man in the same private jet with him who looked to be in his 50s sighed and looked away. Anytime his Boss was this angry, even he had to stay clear of his path.
"… immediately!" Shi Wenqian instructed over the phone before terminating the call.
Then, she glanced at Zhang Xiaoling who was still standing in front of her to ask, "I don't want to start asking how you came to know about my blood bank business, but let it stop here. No one else must know about it!"
Shi Wenqian sounded so strict and serious even with her own daughter, which showed just how delicate, secretive and important her business was.
Given her tone, it was obvious that it wouldn't have ended that way if the person before her wasn't her own flesh and blood. She might go as far as getting rid of the person to make sure that her secret was kept under wraps.
"Mum, you worry too much. Have you forgotten that I am your daughter?" Zhang Xiaoling asked with an obvious smirk at the corner of her lips.
Shi Wenqian looked away and released a deep sigh of relief. It was good that her daughter didn't ask her the reason she had a blood bank. But as for how much she knew about her business, she would have to wait and find out later.
"Forget it. If your father asks the reason you left work early, you can say you were worried about Zhang Liling after seeing the news." Shi Wenqian said.
All blame must be put on Zhang Liling to relieve them of most of the incoming stress,
Zhang Xiaoling smiled meaningfully, "After all, this is the truth."
At NYU, after Bolin was done settling the issue with the tabloids, he returned to Mr. Fang's office to make a report.
"Take me to see the villa," Mr. Fang instructed and led the way out, while Bolin followed behind after picking up his things from the table.
'He said he wasn't interested in seeing it earlier today.' Bolin thought to himself. His Boss was really unpredictable.
When they got into the car, Bolin made a call to the manager in charge of getting the Villa ready to tell him about their coming.
Immediately after the call, the manager at the sight began to order the people under him around. He began to nag at them to be quick and to position things properly.
He didn't want to be sacked in the middle of his job as that would be great harm to his reputation in this field to be sacked by 'Mr. Fang'
After settling down in the car, Mr. Fang picked up the bottle of meds lying at his side along with a bottle of water uncapped by Bolin.
He took 2 pills from the bottle and swallowed them with the water.
The bottle of pills in his car was the same as the one in his bedroom. He also has another bottle in his office at the company, and he has no choice but to take the pills at intervals if he wanted to breathe in properly.
A few minutes after he had taken the drugs, Mr. Fang seemed to feel better as he relaxed his back against the car seat comfortably. He had just shut his eyes when a scene that happened earlier, flashed in front of him.
Instantly, he remembered something inexplicable that happened when he came in close contact with Zhang Liling the time she collapsed.
Zhang Liling's scent did not affect him. He breathed comfortably even when he carried her to the clinic, and he guessed that he had missed this point because he was in a panic.
Haven thought this far, his brows furrowed and his eyes flew open with different wandering thoughts in his head. Because of those thoughts battling to form concise information in his head, he felt restless.
"Bolin, make a stop at the doctor's." Mr. Fang instructed. He was now very interested in this mystery and hoped to unravel it soon.
