Steadily, an expensive car drove into the premises of the Zhang Villa.
Zhang Liling was resting comfortably in the backseat of the car that had just driven into the Zhang Family's residence.
Even when the car had stopped, she remained sitting comfortably in it, refusing to come down.
The Zhang family's housekeeper had to signal the bodyguard to open the car door for her.
When the car door opened, Zhang Liling stared straight at the housekeeper's face and sneered, "Aren't you going to help me out just as you portrayed back in my school, or is the show over already?"
Back in NYU, the housekeeper had helped her from the hospital bed and straight to the car, with the reason that in case little paparazzi were still monitoring, they would get a good picture and write something cleaner.
The housekeeper let out a sigh and walked to her before helping her out of the car. When she was about to let go of her hand, Zhang Liling asked with a smirk, "Can't you see that I'm so weak and can't make it inside myself?"
The housekeeper looked irritated with her troubles but still went on to hold up her arm and help her into the house.
"You servants are getting very lazy, or do you just serve one person in this house? If that is so, I think it wouldn't be bad if my stepmother starts drawing your blood twice a month, just like she did with me."
As soon as Zhang Liling said that, the housekeeper looked alarmed and immediately covered her mouth in fear, but she ended up getting whacked in the face by the furious Zhang Liling.
"How dare you put your hands on me, have you gone nuts? Every member of this family bullies me, and now a servant wants to join the queue?"
Although Zhang Liling had already hit her, she couldn't stop herself from being angry.
How could the housekeeper cover her mouth while she was still speaking? The woman already bullies her through her stepmother's instructions, and now, she dared to do so outside? She really was requesting to be taught a lesson.
The housekeeper froze at Zhang Liling's actions. She didn't see this slap coming because she never thought that Zhang Liling was capable of it.
Zhang Liling didn't bother to ask the housekeeper to help her, she made it into the house just fine, by herself. It was after Zhang Liling's back had disappeared from her sight that she remembered to react.
She gnashed her teeth with clenched fists while staring daggers at the entrance. She so badly wanted to pull all her hair out.
For a servant to dare to think this kind of thoughts about a member of the family she works for, just how much authority was she given?
"You are back, where is the housekeeper?" Shi Wenqian asked with a frown when she saw Zhang Liling walk inside alone.
Zhang Liling had a not-so-good expression on her face, and being asked that question, she just hissed and walked past her.
Shi Wenqian thought that she didn't hear well and even turned around to glance at her back.
"Did she just hiss at me?" She asked herself with an ugly facial expression on her face. This was the second-highest level of disrespect she has gotten from Zhang Liling in one day.
The housekeeper walked in at this time and greeted her respectfully with a slight bow. Shi Wenqian heard her voice and finally shifted her gave to her, only to see her left cheek was faint red like it had collided with something.
"What are you looking that way, have you forgotten the image you should keep when you go outside to represent me?" Shi Wenqian asked.
The housekeeper was like her personal assistant, and people usually saw the two of them outside together.
"Miss Zhang Liling hit me." The housekeeper disclosed with a calm demeanor.
"She hit you? This quite interesting," Shi Wenqian said with a smile. "And what was her reason?" She continued.
The housekeeper went on to tell her how Zhang Liling had openly talked about her secret, how she tried to stop her from covering her mouth, and how she got the slap.
Now, Shi Wenqian knew the reason Zhang Liling reacted that way towards her, but that didn't help her to feel any better.
"Without my permission, you are not allowed to be rude to her. She is still a daughter of this family, and her father and mother are still very much alive and healthy." Shi Wenqian said the last sentence while staring into the distance.
There seemed to be a hidden meaning behind them as she emphasized the reason Zhang Liling shouldn't be bullied.
The housekeeper nodded in understanding before leaving after receiving an instruction to prepare several dishes with a few special ones for Zhang Liling.
The special dishes were to show Mr, Zhang that Zhang Liling was well taken care of and so he wouldn't have any reason to suspect the reason her complexion was looking so dull,
A few minutes after Zhang Liling had laid in bed, she heard a knock on her door and before she could reply, her stepmother, stepsister and the same doctor she met in the morning walked in.
Seeing the trio, she scoffed and asked, "Are you all here to drain the last blood in my system."
"Stop being sarcastic, it doesn't suit you. The doctor is here to give you the best treatment so you can recuperate quietly," Zhang Xiaoling said in a calm tone.
Zhang Liling chuckled angrily before glaring at them, "The same doctor that took my blood this morning is the same one here to treat me? Do I look like a joke to all of you?"
Zhang Liling felt she was being ridiculed at the moment. These few years, she been taken everything in, but she could hardly stand any of it.
"Zhang Liling, I think you are getting something wrong here. No one is interested in collecting your blood. The doctor is here to give you a drip to help you feel better. If you don't believe, then just watch." Shi Wenqian said to her calmly.
Zhang Liling refused to believe that her stepmother would be so kind to her. That woman had so many tricks up her sleeve and shouldn't be trusted even for a mili-second.
But what she didn't know, was that her stepmother was being forced to treat her kindly because her father was on his way back.
