Tiara smiled, recalling the way Wylder pampered her during her periods. No, they didn’t kiss or do anything that wasn’t allowed in friendship. He was just there to check on her as if she were sick. In other situations, she would have lashed out at him for treating her like she was sick, but she knew that his intention wasn’t to show that she was weak or sick.
She told him that no involvement of feelings was the first rule of their arrangement, on which he ended up shutting her mouth, and that he was taking care of his best friend in a friendly way.
She didn’t want to miss him, but here she was, missing him badly. She had never looked forward to the weekend with such eagerness.
‘What are you doing, Wild? Even though I told you that no feelings would be involved in all this, I can’t stop thinking about you.' She thought.
[Tiara: Hey, when will you be at my place?] She sent a text and waited for his reply.
[Wylder: Sorry, Ara! I have to attend the mating ball. I don’t think I will be able to make it tonight, tomorrow, or maybe for a week because there will be a lot of paperwork and a small celebration in the pack.]
Tiara’s heart sank after reading his message. She might not have lived in the werewolf world, but she knew what this mating ball was.
The mating ball was held by the werewolf king at an interval of six months, i.e., twice a year, where all the unmated males and females after reaching the age of eighteen were asked to attend in search of their mate. Because the werewolf world was too big and traveling from one place to another in search of a mate was quite a tough job, everyone met in one place.
The Alpha and his Luna, or the Alpha and his Beta, of all the packs, had the responsibility of gathering all their pack members and taking them back to their packs. Also, one could move from one pack to another for their mate. All these data and records had to be maintained with the alpha of the packs, so Tiara could understand that Wylder would be busy for a while.
At that moment, she didn’t know on what topic she should get more upset.
She wouldn’t be able to have sex this weekend again.
Wylder might find a second chance with his mate.
A selfish part of her wished that he wouldn’t find his mate, but she grabbed her phone and texted him something that she didn’t wish for.
[Tiara: Great. I will pray to the Moon Goddess that you will find your second chance mate.]
‘Please don’t send any females between Wild and me.' She prayed. ‘Call me a double-faced person, but make sure that you hear my REAL prayer.' She talked with the Moon Goddess.
[Wylder: Thanks. I too wish the same.]
Tiara fumed after reading that message. She immediately wanted to call him and fight with him, but she controlled her temper, throwing her phone away.
"Tee!! The set is ready." Michelle informed her, to which she nodded her head and left from there. Little did she know, even Wylder prayed the same thing that she did, but he just couldn’t tell her that he wanted to choose her as his chosen mate.
Wylder knew that their worlds were poles apart. Even though Tiara was a werewolf, her career and her future were in the human world. He wanted to claim her and make her his, but not at the cost of her career.
His plan was to make her realize that if they wanted, things could work out between them if they had a mutual understanding.
