The next day I broke up with John Patrick, he asked me why but I told him about what I saw yesterday and he admitted that they were dating for a month now. I asked him if he love that girl and he said yes, he really love that girl so I cry again for the second time I was hurt. I went home pretending nothing happens, my dad cook my mom’s favorite pasta and fried chicken. At dinner while mom’s preparing the food I asked my dad how he fall in love to mom. He smiled and say the sweetest word that I could imagine.
“ Alicia, your mom was very kind person. In everything she do she never forget to smile and that’s what I want when I grow old, her smile is my hidden treasure that I don’t want to lose.” Dad said. “Everyday I pray to God, he continue, “that she will always smiling after I wake up and before I close my eyes to sleep, I want to see her smiling. She is my cure and her smile is my sun in my Wonderful world”, he said again. And my mom came and we start eating. That night I realized that being loved by someone you love is the best thing in this world and my parents was my witness.”
Tuesday morning, Justine wake up early, she is still at the small island and this afternoon she will be back at Cebu and continue her vacation. She go down to take her breakfast and she decide to walk in the shore for a moment and think of the things that happened last night between her and Andrew. She’s still not sure if she likes Andrew because they just met here but she was happy, she was happy with him. She go back to her hotel where she met Andrew waiting for someone and Andrew see her, he smile and Justine smiles too.
“ hi, good morning”. He said with a smile
“good morning too, waiting for someone”? I ask
“ yeah, I was waiting for you”. He reply
“ you’re waiting for me? Why.”
“ I just want to thank you for last night. He said.
“ for what.”? I ask
“ I want to thank you for dancing with me and for coming with me, thank you so much. You made my day complete last night.” He continue with a smile again.
“ no. I think I should be the one saying thank you because you invited me”. I say nervously
“ so, you’re going back to Cebu this afternoon”? He ask
“ yeah, after lunch I guess” .
“ cool, I will going too. But before that can we enjoy the beauty of Malapascua Island”. He suggest
We walk in the white beach up to the shore and collect some stones and throw it to the ocean and he start kicking the water on me and I do the same until we get wet and I swim in the ocean and he follow. We walk again and we reach the end of the island, it was beautiful I can see the sky so wide and blue with the clouds drifting into the sky. And we walk back to the resort and he ask me to take a lunch with him and said yes. Twelve noon he guide me until I get sit and he order foods. While waiting for the food he ask me if I had a boyfriend and I smile instantly.
“ so, do you have a boyfriend”.? He ask excitedly
“ no, I don’t have. We broke up”. I reply
“ oh! I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you.” He said
“ it’s okay, I move on and I’m happy now “.
“ no suitors or special someone”? He ask again
“ no, I’m focus on my work now. I said.
Two weeks ago my second boyfriend and I broke up. His name is Martin his my co-worker, he’s a nice guy. We we’re happy we stayed for a year and I thought he could be the one because he was a very nice guy. I actually plan my future with him, where we getting married and when, the house that we build and all about the future of having a new life. I was so happy that moment I thought I was a luckiest woman in planet earth but after two years of being with him a disaster came.
After lunch we get back to Cebu, I go straight to my hotel to take a nap for a moment and Andrew go to his hotel as well. Our hotels are two kilometers away, my hotel is near the airport and his hotel is near the ocean. I wake up four in the afternoon and I go to grocery store to buy some things and go back to hotel to take my dinner, my early dinner actually. Andrew run to my hotel and ask me if I want to go somewhere and I said I’m free to go that i don’t even know where to spend the night. And we go to carnival , it was totally different carnival in the Portland but still the same they had a games that really amazing. We stop in the game where you have to stop the cat from rolling, it’s not so easy to do it but it was fun we didn’t make it but we’re having fun. Our next destination is the basketball game where you have to shoot as many as you can until the time is over and if you have more points you will win a teddy bear as usual, since I’m not good in basketball I let him play and he was a good in basketball, he might be a varsity in his school I guess. After of playing some games he invited me to eat. We go to a restaurant and while we we’re waiting for the waiter he give me a teddy bear that he get when he won in the basketball game. It was cute teddy bear its color red with a heart shape on his stomach.
“ thank you for this.” I said referring to teddy bear
“that is actually my thank you to you”. He mumble
“ you’re crazy”. I said
While we’re having a dinner I receive a call from my co-worker Melissa, she said that Martin and her girlfriend the daughter of my boss are getting married and they want me to be there in their wedding day, what a jerk after all the things that they did to me they still have a guts to do that. I want to cry that moment but I was so shy to do that because I was with someone who don’t know what I felt, so I hold my tears and pretend I was okay. I drop my phone and I continue eating.
“ so, how’s your vacation here”. He ask
“ it was so perfect, I wish I could stay for another week or month,” I said
“ well, you can come back again. I’m sure the beach will miss you too.” He said
We go back almost ten in the evening and he walk me home while hugging the teddy bear and he notice it and start asking.
“ so do you like that teddy bear”.
“ of course, wilo is very kind and beautiful”. I said
“ wilo”.? He ask, “you name it wilo. What wilo means”.? He ask again
“ wilo means friendship. Its our friendship.” I said
I know it’s bad to tell a lie but I just did. I lied because I was afraid to tell the truth. The truth is “wilo” means “with love”. Wilo was short for with love.
