The calm Juggernaut now looked like a completely different person compared to his furious self earlier.
Raymond only needed three minutes to convince him. Juggernaut believed that Raymond truly wanted to join the Hellfire Club and wasn't sent by someone to mess with him or cause trouble.
If it had been the old Juggernaut, Raymond wouldn't even have gotten a chance to speak.
As for how Raymond managed to avoid the Hellfire Club's intelligence network and only let them find surface-level info, or how he learned about the connection between Juggernaut and Professor X—after a small show of skill, those questions were no longer a concern.
Right now, in the eyes of Juggernaut and the others, Raymond was no longer a rookie who had just awakened his powers by accident.
For mutants, even someone as powerful as Magneto or Professor X wasn't necessarily stronger than some level two or three mutants right after awakening their powers.
Back then, they just had the potential to become level four mutants.
It's just like Lorna now—Carl could easily take her down.
Of course, there are rare exceptions. Some level five mutants might become super strong the moment they awaken, like Jean Grey before Professor X sealed her main personality.
Or Raymond's good buddy David. If someone really pushed him too far, he could turn into a super crazy person who could destroy everything in an instant.
If not for that risk, the Shadow King wouldn't have stayed hidden inside David for decades. He would've taken over already.

Juggernaut and his group haven't seen such an example themselves. And even if they had, they wouldn't believe Raymond was one of those one-in-a-billion cases.
So in their minds, Raymond must have awakened his powers long ago and just hid them really well—he's probably a level four mutant.
And a level four mutant who's been awakened for years would definitely have some special connections. That explains how he knew about Juggernaut and Professor X.
Still, the fact that they accepted him so quickly actually made Raymond a bit uneasy.

He did know that in some versions of the Marvel universe, Juggernaut joined Magneto's Brotherhood and became the second-in-command.
But he thought that in this world, since Juggernaut became the Black King of the Hellfire Club, he wouldn't be part of the Brotherhood.
He didn't expect those two identities to exist at the same time.
As for Psylocke, he wasn't surprised.
In the X-Men movie universe, her family background was removed for certain reasons, and only her personal abilities were kept, which made her seem less important.
But in this world, she clearly had those two powerful older brothers.
Having a strong background versus none at all makes a huge difference.
Even if Psylocke didn't go around using her brothers' names, no one would really treat her like she had no backing.

"Doctor, you want to know why we're not worried that you might have other motives for joining the Club… and since many core members have multiple identities, how we make sure no one is acting selfishly, right?"
Seeing Juggernaut being so direct, Raymond didn't bother pretending either and nodded slightly.
When they saw him admit it, Juggernaut and the others glanced at each other and laughed.
Juggernaut said, "Let Carl explain that."
Raymond didn't mind and shrugged.
Carl also smiled and said, "That's because… we don't need to make sure!"
"Huh? What do you mean?" Raymond didn't really get it.
"The Hellfire Club doesn't have a clear mission or goal… We're not like the Brotherhood, trying to make mutants rule the world."
"We're not like the X-Men either, trying to make normal people accept mutants and let us walk in the sun, living side by side," Carl explained with a smile.
"If we had to say what our purpose is, it's probably just to help each other out. As long as it doesn't hurt our own interests, we help if we can."
"As for your question, how do we make sure people aren't selfish? That's not even a real question—because… all of us are selfish!"
