The lovely woman left Giovanni's office, which appeared to now belong to him, based on the will that was waiting for him on the desk's top, and Reidan watched from the corner of his eye. Reaching for his father's last will and testament, Reidan read the part that said, "I leave all executive functions of Bianco Enterprises, including all its affiliated companies, to my eldest son, Reidan Antonio Bianco," thinking, "Jesus Christ," half hoping he could make the words disappear if he read them enough times. Everything seemed so bizarre, like it belonged in a drug-induced nightmare.
However, he was unable to dwell on it because a knock at the door shortly after that prevented him from doing so. The door swung open to show his younger brother Matteo standing there with a frown on his face after he failed to cry out in response.

Reidan slowly nodded. Actually, hehadn't read the entire contract from cover to cover, but he had seen the crucial passage that denied Matteo power over the company.
"How did you find it so soon, guys? ”
Matteo shrugged, "It was in the top drawer of his desk." He chuckled sadly, shaking his head, "One of the maids found it, presumably seeking for money or something."
Matteo was barely able to contain the waves of wrath that Reidan could almost see emanating from him. Reidan didn't pretend to not comprehend his brother's irrational rage. Despite being the younger brother, Matteo had spent the past ten years studying the family business with his father in an effort to succeed Don. However, the terms of the will were there, written in plain sight, black and white. Reidan, not Matteo, was the heir, and he was even unaware of the selection process.
However, Reidan was preoccupied with a different query that was immediately more important than his father's final wishes. "Did you see that girl that was walking past here just a moment ago?" Matteo Questioned.
A few hours after their father's passing, Reidan appeared to be searching for a piece of tail, which undoubtedly irritated his younger brother. "Remember when I told you about her before? Selena? Dad's assistant? ”
“Oh. Who is the one father...? ”
“Fucked?
He was answered by Matteo, who had a crazed animal's grin spread across his face as he spoke. "Yeah, he drilled that gold mine," he added.
Reidan scowled as his mind was instantly flooded with numerous repulsive memories, including that of his elder father slapping the stunning young woman he had just seen staring at him seconds before. "Actually, it was repulsive for a number of reasons, not the least of which being the thirty or so years or so that his father and mother had been wed. And how long has it been going on? A year? It surprises me that Mom didn't murder Dad herself."
Matteo shrugged, displaying no sign of worry. Mom's a fighter. She understands.
"Are you certain of that?"
Reidan was quite doubtful that his strict, overbearing mother would simply accept being humiliated in that manner.
Well, Matteo remarked after quickly biting his lower lip, "I suppose she was truly getting ready to fire her."
Reidan experienced an odd jumble of feelings at that. “Really? due to the affair thing? ”
"I suppose. Whatever the case, good luck if you try and hit that because I haven't been fortunate to do so yet. Furthermore, try to move quickly because she could not be available tomorrow."
Reidan fought with himself to control the things he was so tempted to speak as he bit the inside of his cheek. Ah, screw it, he ultimately concluded. He nonchalantly added, pointing to his father's will, still on the desk in front of him, "Actually, I'm quite sure it's up to me whether she stays or goes."
Matteo's eyes briefly lit up with anger before going back to being completely blank. "You want to take care of it? ", he uttered sternly.
“You’ve haven't ever fired anybody before, have you? ”
Reidan picked up his father's will and waved it in the air like a flag, despite the fact that the answer was obviously a "No." Reidan shrugged. " This gives me the authority to act now, correct? ”
Matteo fixed him for a long time, his jaw clenching and loosening as if he were trying to maintain composure as Reidan used his newfound power. When he eventually nodded and pretended to smile, he said, "I'll send her in so you can do the honors," before turning and leaving the office. He slammed the door so violently behind him that the items on the shelf shook as though they had been struck by an earthquake.
Reidan remained motionless, feeling the increased blood pressure brought on by his newfound strength. When his mother was present, in particular, he used to feel completely out of control whenever he was with his family. That was the main cause of his initial runaway to the city. Reidan was seated on the throne, however, as a result of his father's final deed on this planet. As he recognized the full amount of his new strength, he felt almost overpowered and his body started to tremble a little.
After a brief delay, the door was unlocked, and Selena—the woman from earlier—entered. She greeted him courteously and closed the door behind her.
"Are you aware of who I am? With his hands clasped behind his back, Reidan questioned. He didn't want to show the unusual sense of anxiousness that he was currently experiencing, so his fingers continued to tremble a little.
"Matteo informed me that you are his sibling. Congratulations on getting the position, by the way," Selena stated with a lot more assurance than Reidan had anticipated. She stared unwaveringly into his eyes, but her own eyes weren't agitated. Assured. She didn't appear to be experiencing the same level of anxiety as he was as he adjusted to his new role.
Thank you; could you please have a seat? He indicated the chair across from his father's desk. Upon seeing Selena comply right away, Reidan experienced a strange yet comforting warmth at the base of his stomach. Even though he was still standing and, at this point, virtually hovering over her, she seemed so at ease following his instructions.
Something in his chest started to split open as Selena stared up at him with her wide, innocent-appearing eyes. It was like an animal that had been sleeping all winter was now waking up. She was certainly attractive, but that wasn't the point. Reidan sensed that only he could sense the hidden energy seething beneath the surface of the skin of this woman.
While his tongue had already dried up in his mouth from simply staring down at her, he was acutely aware that several seconds had passed without him saying anything. He couldn't help but picture her bowed before him, bowing her body to his will. Jesus, just thinking about it nearly caused him to burst.
In contrast, the following instant, he felt disgusted with himself and nearly physically retreated from Selena in his own lust. For the love of Christ, his father had slept with this woman! He couldn't possibly approach her while doing so. She was off-limits for all eternity.
Reidan nearly burst out laughing at how ridiculous everything seemed. The one lady he discovered who might be his Sub was also the one one he was unable to touch.
