THE NEXT DAY
Martina slept next to Caterina on the bed, she slept pretty late because she couldn’t stop thinking about what Roberto had said the previous night. They fed and the doctor gave Caterina some pills to make her feel better.
Caterina opened and stared at the ceiling for minutes before looking beside her. She saw Martina laying next to her. She was fast asleep.
“Martina.”
Caterina caressed her face still laying the way she was.
“Martina,” She further called and Martina tightened her eyes. She opened them and looked at Caterina.
She sprang up and stared at Caterina in fear and worry.
“Are you alright? Are you hungry? Should I get you water?”
Caterina giggled as she saw her sister’s reaction.
“I am fine Martina.” Caterina smiled and Martina exhaled loudly, she fell back to the bed and shut her eyes.
“I should have been watching over you, I was so tired and I fell asleep.”
“Martina you needed rest too, don’t be hard on yourself that you slept. We both needed rest.”
Martina nodded and heaved a sigh. She sat up and gazed at Caterina with sadness.
“You are worried.”
Martina nodded and lowered her head. She reached for Caterina’s hands and held them.
“I need you to leave this place as soon as possible. You aren’t strong enough for all these, you need proper treatment and rest.”
“Is this why you are worried? I thought you were worried that going to get deflowered by him.” Martina shook her head and looked at Caterina.
“Your health is what I’m most worried about. You deserve better, not this hell I dragged you into.”
Caterina shook her head and tried to sit up but she still felt weak and her head was aching.
“You should lie down, you aren’t very strong yet. You need more time to relax.”
Caterina nodded and laid on the bed again.
“None of this is your fault, Martina. Who knows, this was meant to happen for a reason.”
Martina scoffed and shook her head.
“I don’t think so, this is all on Roberto and his wicked ways. This doesn’t have to do with fate.”
The door opened all of a sudden and Roberto walked in. Vincenzo and the doctor followed behind him. The doctor approached Caterina and one of the guards dropped a tray of food next to her.
Martina shut Roberto a dark look and averted her eyes from him to look at Caterina.
“How is she, Doctor?” Martina asked.
“She is getting better, her temperature has reduced drastically, but she still needs food and rest.”
He looked at Roberto and Roberto looked at him with a cold face, his hands were buried deep in his pockets.
“Can she travel?”
Martina furrowed her brows at Roberto’s question immediately. She looked at Caterina and she saw she was also confused.
“What do you mean by can she travel?” Roberto ignored Martina and kept his cold gaze on the doctor.
“I don’t think so, she is extremely week.” Roberto nodded and looked at Vincenzo who lowered his head immediately.
“Once she gets better, get her back to Italy.”
Caterina’s eyes widened and she looked at Roberto as he approached the door.
“Wait!” Martina was shocked. *Is he really serious about letting her go?* Roberto paused and looked at her over his shoulders. He knew very well why she acted that way, it caught her off guard.
Martina got out of bed and walked up to him. Vincenzo widened his eyes at her, he tried to talk to her but she didn’t look at him.
“You are taking her home?” Martina asked standing behind him. She was few inches away from him.
He kept mute and proceeded to walk. She held him by the hand and Roberto stopped walking again.
She looked at her hands around his and he shot her a dreadful look.
“Don’t you dare touch me again!”
Martina shivered as Roberto barked. Vincenzo placed his hand on his forehead and hit it slightly. He tried to warn her but she didn’t give him any attention.
“Thank you.”
Roberto turned to look at her and she stepped back in fright. He began to walk toward her and she also began to move backward.
The rest of them in the room watched them with suspense in them.
*What is he going to do this time?*
Martina’s back touched the wall and her heart skipped. She gulped hard as he kept approaching her.
“Please don’t hurt her.” Caterina was scared for her sister.
Roberto was an inch away from Martina, she could perceive his Cologne. It was the Creed Adventus Cologne. She loved the way he scented. He held her chin in his hand with pressure.
“You are mine, not your sister. I am letting her go because I want to not because you want her to. I have no business with her, I can choose to kill her or let her go, and I can always change my mind… Don’t thank me!” He warned arduously and Martina nodded hurriedly.
“And don’t you ever touch me!” His grip on Martina’s chin increased and she began to feel pain. She tried to speak but she couldn’t.
He aggressively let go of her head and moved away. Martina panted as she held her chin end and watched leave. She almost forgot the monster he was.
“Tidy yourself up, I am f**king you soon.”
Martina watched him strut away. She looked at Caterina and tears rolled down her eyes.
“You should have just kept your mouth shut. You are in deeper shit than you can imagine.” Vincenzo shook his head in pity at her and walked out of the room.
“You should eat and use your medications.” The doctor said to Caterina and also walked out of the room.
Martina slid her back on the wall and fell to her knees, she began to weep profusely.
“I hate him so much.”
“Martina,” Caterina called in a shaky voice but Martina didn’t respond.
Her worse nightmare was about to turn into reality.
