Seeing how intimate and close the two were, and noticing the shy, embarrassed look Jessica gave her while still wrapped in Jeff’s arms, Rose finally snapped out of her daze.
"Alright, alright. Since you admitted it, I’ll let the two of you go," she said with a heavy sigh, crossing her arms.
Then she pointed at Jeff with that same rock-hard fist from earlier.
"And you, young man. The next time you do something, make sure to take responsibility and not act like a sissy. Got it?" she lectured, her tone sharp.
Jeff nodded his head quietly, accepting the scolding. Meanwhile, Jessica remained still, her face burning red as she stared down at the hand resting on her abdomen.
Rose glanced at them both. Watching the quiet closeness between them stirred something in her chest.
It was a small flicker of jealousy that passed through her.
She was at her age, yet she had never experienced something , not even back in her school years.
It was really too bad since the men she had met so far had never matched her taste. Either too arrogant, too boring, or just plain disappointing.
"You can let go of her now. Stop being so touchy. You’re acting like a pervert, don’t you know that?" Rose said scornfully, snapping out of her thoughts.
Jeff quickly let go, his expression awkward as he stepped back.
Jessica who was now pardoned, finally let out a soft sigh of relief. She did not say a word, only kept her head down, her face still red with embarrassment.
Seeing how shy and flustered the young lady was made Rose secretly smile inside. It was very clear now that young lady had fallen deeply.
And that was a very good thing. She wanted to scream it in excitement but kept her composure.
The only thing she did not approve of was that they had done it far too early, which is very unacceptable.
Since she was a traditional woman, Rose firmly believed that such things should be reserved for marriage.
That kind of thinking was deeply rooted in her values, but she wasn’t the two’s parents so she can’t voice out her thoughts.
She knew that if she overstepped her boundaries, there was a real chance Jessica would start to resent her for being too naggy.
And Jeff, her nephew in name, might also begin to hate her for meddling too much. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵•𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑒•𝙣𝙚𝙩
That was the least thing she wanted to happen.
So as much as she wanted to lecture them right there and then, she held herself back.
So she decided to go to a softer approach, one that would let her guide them without pushing them away.
She also knew they were still young. Most likely, they had little to no understanding about proper protection when it came to sexual activity.
Now that the two had already crossed the line and become one in flesh, Rose felt it was her responsibility to guide them.
Whether they liked it or not, someone needed to make sure they understood the consequences and took proper precautions in moving forward.
So she coughed, a rough awkward sound that almost made her sound like an old man on his deathbed.
Hearing it, both Jeff and Jessica turned their heads to look at her.
Catching their attention again, Rose cleared her throat and fixed her gaze on the two.
"Since you two have done it... did you use protection?" she asked, her face turning red.
Even as a woman in her thirties, and still a virgin at that, talking about this kind of topic made her incredibly shy.
But it had to be asked, since it’s needed.
Jeff and Jessica both stared at Rose with identical blank expressions, their minds were at 1000 ms. Clearly lagging from what she said.
"Protection?" Jeff repeated, blinking slowly with clear confusion on his face.
Jessica tilted her head slightly, trying to process what Rose meant. Her brows furrowed just a bit, clearly still not catching on.
The silence that followed was thick and uncomfortable. It hung in the air like fog, making Rose shift in place as she cleared her throat again, this time more forcefully.
Her cheeks burned, and she wondered if she was going to have to spell it out.
"I mean... condoms," she said, barely louder than a whisper, her face flushing a deep red.
"Did you at least use... you know, protection when you... did it?"
The moment the word condoms left her lips, both Jeff and Jessica froze. Of course, they understood it now, since who wouldn’t be?
With the internet, topics were no mystery to them. They had known about it for a long time.
But hearing it directly from Rose, their landlady and Jeff’s Aunt which is a proper woman in her thirties, made their faces heat up just as fast.
Both Jeff and Jessica’s eyes widened in unison, like someone had just thrown a bucket of ice water straight at their faces.
Jeff choked on absolutely nothing, struggling to find air, while Jessica’s entire body froze like a statue.
"W-we didn’t... I mean, I-I didn’t..!" Jessica blurted out first.
Both her hands flailing wildly in front of her face like she was trying to swat away invisible flies.
"I didn’t use... cause... w-we didn’t!" she kept stammering.
Her words tumbling over each other as her face smoked redder than ever, almost like steam was about to come out of her ears.
Rose’s expression turned grave in an instant. Her lips parted in horror as she gasped sharply.
She didn’t fully understand the chaotic stuttering that had just come out of Jessica’s mouth, but one message came through loud and clear.
Is that they didn’t use one.
"You didn’t?!" she exclaimed, lunging forward and grabbing Jessica by the shoulders with both hands.
Her eyes were wide, and panic was written all over her face.
"Are you serious right now?!" she shouted, her voice cracking under the pressure of disbelief.
Even though she was not a mother, as a caring aunt to her best friend’s son and to this young lady as well, her reaction was far more dramatic than what most real mothers would show.
She looked like she was about to faint, her grip on Jessica’s shoulders tightening slightly as her mind spiraled through every worst-case scenario imaginable.
"Please tell me you used some! Little girl, tell me quick!" Rose cried out, shaking Jessica lightly but urgently, her voice rising in panic.
"Condoms? Pills? Morning-after? Patches? Injections? IUDs? Emergency tea? Anything?!" she rattled off in a rush.
Both her eyes were wild and darting like she was flipping through a mental health seminar slide by slide.
Jessica could only shake her head helplessly, mouth slightly open, too overwhelmed to answer.
Jessica’s mouth opened and closed in stunned silence. Her brain was still trying to catch up with each word being thrown at her.
"I-I.. no! I mean we didn’t even.. I didn’t need to... there was nothing to use!" she blurted out, her hands waving frantically in the air like she was trying to erase the very conversation itself.
"Nothing?!" Rose shouted, her voice going up an octave.
"You just went in raw?!"
Jessica looked like she was about to melt into the floor, her entire body trembling from embarrassment.
"Why are you two so dumb? So, you didn’t even talk or think about it beforehand?! And both of you just just decided jumped right in?!" Rose’s grip tightened as her eyes went impossibly wide.
"N-no! There was no jumping! Nobody jumped on anything! I never even... I didn’t see anything!" as her hand flailing in front of her like a broken windmill.
"You didn’t see it?! Were the lights off?! Did this little bastard shoot inside of you?!!" Rose gasped, her jaw dropping in disbelief, looking like she was about to faint on the spot.
Jessica turned bright red, her mouth hanging open as her brain overloaded.
"NO! I mean YES— but not— I just— We didn’t do anything like that at all I SWEAR!!" Jessica screamed, her voice cracking as she stumbled over every word.
Rose’s face turned pale, almost ghost-like, as if her soul was on the verge of abandoning her body for good.
She was almost fine with it, but just only a little. If they had done the activity and at least not finished it inside, then maybe, just maybe, she could breathe.
But now, everything seemed to be not so good. Rose slowly turned her glare toward Jeff, who was still standing there frozen like a statue.
His face was blank, his mind clearly short-circuiting as if he could not believe what was happening right now.
"Shoot what inside? What did I shoot? Did I shot someone," Jeff’s mind was wondering clearly lost in place right now.
