Cynthia runs in and tries to interrupt her, but Rory signal her to leave and she nods, closing the door behind her.
Paris eyes leave Rory's and stay on me for a while, but she shows no emotion of anger, or rage, or resentment like she had earlier shown Rory.
Typical Paris, always so good on control and that is still something I envy her for.
"Get out. I want to have a word with my fiancé." her words come off stony and hard and a coldness washes over me that I know Rory also notices.
My heart skips a beat and I try getting up, but Rory hands around me pull me back down on his laps. I give him a very weird glance. Isn't he seeing Paris in the office or am I the only one imagining and hearing things?
"She isn't going anywhere, Paris there's nothing you want to say that can't be said in her presence," Rory answers back in defence, not bothered about how awkward our position already is.
Anger flare in Paris' eyes, but Rory ignores it as his hands settle more comfortably on my waist. I push his hands away, not feeling comfortable in our state as Paris is in the room, I begin to get up.
"What was that I saw on the in E! news earlier?" She demands fiercely, placing her hand on her hip.
Rory whose attention is completely protesting about my getting up from him rather than on his raging fiancée doesn't reply. I frown at his nonchalant attitude and noticing my expression he turns to finally properly look at her.
"That on the news is what the whole world needs to know."
She takes a step forward towards his desk, but for some unknown reason, she stops herself from moving closer. "You're engaged to me. That's what the whole world needs to know, not you shoving your tongue down my personal assistant's throat." Paris slams and I can feel the impact from where I now stand.
Rory still doesn't look bothered or tensed to the lady in front of him in any way, I guess because he's already used to this kind of outburst.
"First off, she's not your personal assistant, because she no longer works for you and secondly, I wasn't shoving my tongue down her throat, I was simply expressing my love for her by passionately kissing her. There's a difference, but you won't know that since you haven't felt anything like that before, nor do you plan to. And thirdly, the whole world needs to know about the woman who owns my heart, not the one I'm being forced to marry for the good of a few greedy people."
Paris' cheeks heat up so hard I think they may blow up any moment from now 'cause clearly, Rory is pushing her over the limit.
"Listen to me, Rory John Gate. I don't care how many cheap whore you take and proclaim the love of your life," she bites out, her words filled with spitefulness and disdain, "all I know is we are gonna get married and you're going to have to deal with that."
Rory doesn't answer, in fact, he doesn't look like one who is ready to answer. He stares at her neutrally for the next couple of seconds, making her feel discomfort and finally, he presses the telephone on his desk.
"Come to my office and escort Miss Allen out this minute."
The door opens and two men dressed in army uniform walk in and approach Paris and tap her shoulder roughly, earning a glare from her to them. But they ignored her stern glare and tap her again.
"Please get her out of my office."
"Move, ma'am." One of the men says and Paris steps back.
"You will pay for this, Rory!" She vows before she begins to walk away from the room.
Once the door closes, I finally breathe down and Rory turns to me, his eyes apologetic and worried. "Hun, I'm sorry you had to hear that." His hands usher me to come closer, but I don't.
"She's right, she's still your fiancée and she has every right to say whatever she wants to say."
He gets up from his chair and takes me by my waist and pulls me closer. His finger delicately strokes my cheek and his thumb circles my lips and he tilts my head up to look at him. "She's might be my fiancée, but no, she doesn't have the right to say whatever she wants." He moves behind and whispers, "I love you and I'm crazy for you." into my ears and wraps his arms around my waist. "That's all I need to be happy."
I close my eyes and inhale his closeness and the smell of his body. It is intoxicating and enchanting and with every move he makes, I'm well aware of it... of him.
He presses himself on to my body and I push back against him, feeling him lay there against my back and my cheeks burn.
He pulls closer to my ears and whispers, "That's what you do to me, love." and he kisses my ear line down to my neck and I moan and bite my lips desperately wanting control. He turns me around in a quick moment and mumbles, "I want you," before kissing my lips hungrily.
My head is still full of questions running round and round it and it makes him pull away because I don't kiss back.
"Thinking eh?"
I nod in admission, lowering my head from his burning and questioning gaze.
"I'm scared."
He frowns, "Of what, love?"
"Everything," I reply honestly still looking away.
"Including me?" He asks and I look up at him.
"No." I lie without blinking. I don't know why, but a big part of me is scared of losing everything, everyone, including Rory.
He is the only real thing in these shades and shadows I see, I'm just so scared of losing him too. Every night Mycole's vision hunts my mind, but I know Rory can't hurt me, he'd gladly go through pain for me, but much as I know that, I still fear.
"Good 'cause I'm never letting you go, Taylor." He says with a smile and his dimple pops out and I poke at him making his smile widen.
"I'm not letting you go either," I sincerely promise, "but I've got to go for an interview at the b-" I stop myself from finishing, knowing Rory would get all protective if he finds out I'm hoping to find a job at the bar. "place, I need to be on time and you need to get back to work and work out the next business date for your partners in China."
He grumbles childishly and I find him adorable. I cup his face and tiptoe to kiss his lips and he immediately seeking to take control of the situation and use it to his advantage slips his arm around my waist, but I wiggle my way out of his grasp and he groans but says nothing.
"I will pick you at seven and I would have bought you the dress for the dinner, but I'm thinking you go the formal way in your converse and jean and sweater."
My eyes widen at his words. "You want me to go in my normal clothes?" Most times I find it hard to believe that he likes my not-so-sexy clothes and now he's asking me to go that way to dinner.
He grins sheepishly, "Yes. I love your clothes, and boy, do I love your hoodies! It's one of the many tortures you put me through." he admits and I roll my eyes even though the evidence of his compliment is written all over my cheeks, "but I want you to be yourself. Normal, but extraordinary."
That earns him another kiss from me and when I pull back, he grumbles loudly in a strange language. "Stop doing that!" He groans again and I wink at him.
"I love you too." I walk to the door and I feel his eyes on me every step of the way, and I debate whether or not I should stay.
"You know you don't have to leave." His voice deepens all of a sudden and my body shudders terribly.
"I need to," I say, more to myself than to Rory before slipping through the door.
