Chapter 25: If you’re so eager to die, just say it, I’ll gladly fulfill your wish
The process was long and exhausting, so much so that it took him nearly the whole night,
but he managed to hold out until the very end, and the moment he finished saturating the last meridian, he lost consciousness, clearly no longer able to withstand the mental strain the operation had put him through.
It was already morning, and little by little the academy was starting to fill with people as everyone woke up and began their daily duties.
A guy in his twenties who was checking the training rooms noticed that one of the rooms was still locked.
He went over and saw from the talisman next to it that the time slot for using the room had long since expired, but the person was clearly still inside, so he knocked and said:
"Disciple Zhu Rong, your time’s been up for a while now,
if you don’t come out immediately, extra charges will be applied for the extra time you’re taking,"
he said, then waited in silence for the other side to reply, yet a few seconds went by and nothing happened.
His brow furrowed as he tried knocking a couple more times, but still no answer.
He started getting suspicious, so he decided to follow procedure and check the room to see if everything was alright.
It wasn’t uncommon for disciples to get lost in their cultivation or end up hurting themselves, so according to the academy’s rules, the cultivation rooms had to be checked periodically to make sure nothing bad was happening.
He’d knocked several times and gotten no response, so he didn’t have many other options left.
He pulled out another talisman from his pocket and brought it near the handle of the door where there was a small array that lit up a rune,
as if to indicate it had recognized the command, and soon enough a click was heard, signaling the door had unlocked.
"Disciple Zhu Rong, I’m coming in to check," he said, then stepped inside.
Right away he noticed a strange smell in the air and his expression quickly changed when he saw the scene in front of him.
"What the hell happened in here?" he said, on alert as he hurried over to check Zhu Rong, who was slumped in a pool of blood in the center of the room.
He immediately checked his pulse and let out a sigh of relief when he felt his vital signs were still stable.
"Haa, I don’t get paid enough for this shit," he muttered irritably, while calling for someone to get him moved to the infirmary.
Zhu Rong had lost a lot of blood during the process and, combined with the pain, the exhaustion, and the toll the entire operation had taken on him, it led him to collapse into his current state.
He had expected something like this might happen, which was why he hadn’t booked the room for longer than a few hours.
The last thing he wanted was to end up dying in here without anyone knowing.
While he was being transferred once again to the infirmary,
over in the instructors’ residential area, Liang Yuexin was cultivating the scripture Zhu Rong had given her.
The first half of the scripture was already incredibly profound, so it would take her some time to fully master it before moving on to the rest.
She had been cultivating the whole night, ever since she’d returned.
Since she had recently broken through, she needed to solidify the foundation of her new stage before continuing, and that’s exactly what she’d been doing for the past few hours.
Finally, after several hours of cultivation, she opened her eyes just as she felt her maid approaching.

Her grudge against him was still there, but after the events of the past day, she had started reconsidering a lot of things.
Maybe she wouldn’t kill him... but whether she’d completely forgive him, was still not clear.
She shook her head, getting ready to take a bath to clean herself up.
It was morning, and she had told him she’d meet him later to get the rest of the technique.
She was already amazed by just the first half she had, and she couldn’t wait to learn the rest.
Of course, she had no idea that the person she was supposed to meet in a little while was currently in the infirmary, dealing with an old man giving him death stares.
"You little bastard, it hasn’t even been a week and I already find you here again.

I’ll gladly fulfill your wish," he said, tired of seeing this disciple basically every week in the infirmary.
