Chapter 22: Have some Quality Time
Seeing the look on his face, Liang Yuexin couldn’t help but wonder what was going through his head.
She was about to ask if he’d come up with a solution to this problem, given the expression he was making, but he turned to her once again and said:
"I think I’ve got a plan to deal with all of them, but I need you to do something for me," he said with that same creepy smile on his face.
Liang Yuexin had a feeling something bad was about to happen.
Time passed, and it was just over an hour before midnight.
She’d spent the last two hours wandering around the edge of the forest looking for a particular flower he asked her to find.
If it had been up to her, she could’ve finished gathering enough in a few minutes,
but she’d had to bring Zhu Rong along because of how late it was.
She didn’t want to come back and find a mauled corpse, not while she was around, at least, so she brought him along,
and needless to say, they had their fair share of unfortunate encounters along the way.
More than they’d had while getting here.
It was clear the nocturnal beasts had started to wake up.
"I really hope you didn’t make me go through all this trouble for nothing," she said as she watched him pluck the petals from the flowers they’d gathered.
It was a reddish yellow flower, big and no more than 20 cm, easy to find if it weren’t for the fact it only grew on certain bushes, which made picking them a little more troublesome.
They’d gathered a total of 13, and now she was waiting to see what he planned to do with them.
Zhu Rong quickly grabbed all the petals and started grinding them with a stone, then dumped them into a small bottle of water he’d brought along.
Liang Yuexin had no idea what he was doing, and seeing him mash them up like that, she couldn’t help but ask what he was up to.
"It’s summer, so it’s the perfect season for beasts like them to have a little quality time for themselves," he said while shaking the bottle vigorously.
"Quality time for themselves?" she asked, confused,
but then a thought popped into her mind, and she couldn’t help but blush slightly, as she gave the guy in front of her a strange look.
"Don’t tell me..."
She started to get what he was planning, and just thinking about it sent a chill down her spine.
"Yep, you guessed it, it’s time for them to enjoy a little moment together," he said as he tossed her the bottle.
"Im prretty sure they’re all males," she pointed out, noticing the color of their scales.
Female crocodiles tended to have lighter scales, and as far as she could see, none of the ones there had them.
She had several questions but decided to hold back.
Just the idea of triggering a crocodile orgy gave her the creeps,
and she didn’t want to think about how he was planning to bring over the opposite sex for those beasts.
She followed Zhu Rong’s instructions and did as he said.
She channeled her lightning element Qi into the bottle, and when she saw it glow, she didn’t waste a second before launching it with all her strength at the group of crocodiles.
The group, which had just finished eating the last beast that had been thrown to them, was getting ready to head back when they saw a small beam of purple light coming their way and couldn’t help but stop and stare at it.
The crocodile that had first shown up felt a bad premonition the moment he saw the glowing beam heading toward them, and without wasting time, immediately dove into the lake.
As for the other four, they didn’t have time to think as the bottle reached them, hitting the crocodile closest to it dead on.
Boom!
A small explosion echoed through the area, followed by a reddish cloud that engulfed the landing spot, wrapping all five crocodiles in it.
Liang Yuexin and Zhu Rong had already left the place and were now making their way back to where they’d been earlier.
They’d moved to a more secluded spot since they wanted the beasts as far from the islet as possible,
and now that they’d distracted them, it was the perfect moment to act.
Liang Yuexin arrived at the spot and without wasting time, grabbed Zhu Rong by the sleeve and circulated her spiritual Qi through her body.
Soon, a luminous layer covered her, and with another movement of her legs, she shot toward the islet.
Being at the fourth stage of the Mortal Realm, she had enough strength and push speed to cover huge distances in a single jump.
She did have a bit of flying ability, but it was still lacking,
after all, she’d just reached this stage.
She would’ve needed to be at least at the peak of it to have a basic grasp on flight, which she didn’t have right now.
So by using her Qi, she reduced the distance between her and the islet by almost 100 meters in a flash.
As the two reached the islet, the cloud that had surrounded the crocodiles’ spot began to dissipate.
Even the crocodile that had dived resurfaced and looked over at his group of companions.
The four crocodiles stayed still for a few seconds, then finally one of them turned his head sideways toward the one who’d dived.
Hm?
The crocodile that had saved himself looked at his companion and, seeing the expression on his face, couldn’t help but feel a chill run down his back.
Soon, the other three turned their heads toward him too , and their expressions were the same.
Grrrr ?

All four of them gave off a strange aura, their eyes now red.
The fifth crocodile could tell something was wrong, and for a moment, he considered the idea of swimming away.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t get that luxury, because the very next moment, the other four jumped at him with crazed expressions.
