Chapter 91
Closure
The cloud is slightly shady at this moment. Pershey was alone in an Orphanage. She wanted to visit children who had been orphaned by their parents.
From outside, the nuns greeted her.
"Good morning, hija," Sister Anna greeted her.
"Good morning too, sister."
"Come on, come in," she said. She followed the nun and was taken to the playground where the children were.
She enjoyed watching the children play.
"How are the children?" she asked.
"They are all fine," Sister Anna replied.
She watched the children as they played with each other. On one side, in the hammock, she noticed a boy who was only five years old sitting on the hammock and seemed to be deep in thought.
"What about that kid?" she asked and pointed in the child's direction.
She heard the nun sighed as she looked at the child sitting in the cradle and weakly rocking his feet by himself. He bowed his head and played with his hands.
“He was always like that. He doesn't want anyone to talk to or even talk to us or with his fellow children. ”
“But why, Sister Anna? What happened to him? Where are his parents or guardian? What happened to them? ”
The nun began to walk and she followed the nun's footsteps. They walked away from the playground first.
She began to tell stories about the child.
“The police brought him here last week. His parents and older brother died in a car accident. Because of the accident that happened, it caused the child to have trauma. The child is pitiful because he is always looking for his parents. He also cries all the time and prefers to be alone. He doesn't want a playmate or even a game. He is always sad and quiet. ”
Her chest seemed to tighten at what Sister Anna had told her about the child.
They stopped walking and sat for a moment.
"Can I talk to him?"
“I don't know if he will talk to you. Even the man who visits him does not speak to him. ”
“Is someone visiting him? Is he his relative? ”
“No, but the man is often here to visit him. He helps children and here at the orphanage. No matter what he does to the child, he still can't win the child's heart. ”
“Has he already visited the child? Has he come here yet?”
"He's coming later."
She stood up and slung the bag over her arm. "Can I talk to him?"
The nun forced a smile and nodded in response.
She returned to the playground. Her eyes immediately searched for the child. She ran over to the boy when she saw that he was destroying the plants on the side. She hugged the child back to restrain him. The child pours out his feelings on destroying the plants.
“Argh !! Where is my mother! My father! My brother! Bring me to them! ” that's what he was shouting and struggling to get out of Pershey's arms. She picked up the child even though his feet were constantly stamping.
The nuns helped her. She held the child until they could sit on the wooden chair.
The child calmed down but was still crying. The nuns sat next to them and asked him to calm himself but he cried even more and lost his mind.
He was always shouting, so Pershey decided to send the nuns away first, so that the child would calm down. After the nuns left, the child gradually subsided from crying, he was still sobbing.
She's rubbing his back to calm him down.
"Don't cry anymore," she said. The child sat next to her, still sobbing. The two of them were silent when she remembered that dhe had food in her bag. She took it and gave it to the child. The boy took it but did not eat the food.
"Do you know my favorite food?" The child did not say a word and was just stunned. "When I cry, that's what I eat," she added. "I forget my problem when I eat that."
The boy looked at the food he was holding. Graham balls are housed in plastic tupper ware. He frowned as he looked at that.
“What are these? Poops? ”
She laughed at the child's question.
She immediately said, “Those are Graham balls. I like that food.”
He removed its lid and looked again.
"Is it delicious?" he asked and before Pershey could answer, he had already tasted a graham ball. He liked the taste, so he ate the graham ball. "Very tasty," he said and took it again and ate it again.
Pershey watched him happily as he ate until the boy noticed her staring at him. He offered Pershey food and she took one and ate it.
They were eating quietly when a visitor suddenly arrived. She heard the man's voice and he was familiar.
She could not look away because she was feeling anxious.
She tried to get out of her mind that Neil might be the man here too, so she wouldn't be misled.
“Do you want to go outside? Do you want to go to the mall? Do you want to eat at the restaurant? Do you want cupcakes? ” those were her questions and the boy immediately nodded. She was relieved to see the smile on the child's lips.
“Mommy and Daddy always take me to the mall. I was playing there and we were eating at the restaurant,” said the boy and the smile suddenly disappeared from his lips.
"I will take you wherever you want to go," she said.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Even in heaven?" question of the child and she was speechless. The child laughed, so she laughed too.
The boy looked behind Pershey, so she slowly turned around. She couldn't blink when she saw Neil in front of her.
They were both shocked at each other.
“You’re here,” Neil said. He did not reveal that he was shocked. He looked at the boy, he said, "Hi, Jess, how are you?"
The boy did not say a word and just continued eating graham balls.
He sat down next to the boy and watched him eat.
"I like that too, ask me," he joked to the boy and he was immediately offered the child's food. He shook his head and smiled. "Who gave you that?" he asked.
He swallowed the food before he answered, he said, "Miss pretty gave me these."
Pershey smiled at what the boy said. They both looked at each other and both exchanged smiles.
"Do you know her?" he asked.
The boy shook his head, saying, "Not yet, but I want to call her Miss pretty."
Pershey almost laughed at what he said.
"Yes, she's so pretty," Neil agreed while looking at Pershey. He smiled at her and looked back at the child.
“What about you? Do you know Miss pretty? ”
"Yeah."
The boy stopped talking and just ate. Pershey and Neil watch him.
The child looked at them as if confused.
"What's wrong?" Pershey asked.
“Are you dating?” he asked. They suddenly laughed softly.
They both said, "No."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, we're sure," Pershey replied.
The boy handed the food to Neil and he wondered why the food was given to him.
He said, "Give Miss pretty a graham ball if she's not your girlfriend."
Pershey frowned but she laughed at what the boy was commanding.
Neil looked at them and she knew Neil would obey the boy's command.
He picked up a graham ball to give to Pershey.
Ashamed, they just did what the boy told them to do. She had no choice but to open her mouth slightly. She thought Neil was going to swallow her a little but when he had a little Graham ball in her mouth, Neil pushed the graham ball in, so she swallowed a whole graham ball. She couldn't spit out the food, so she forced herself to chew everything.
They laughed as Pershey chewed the food. Neil immediately gave her water.
She drank water and then laughed at what they were doing. The child was also laughing, so they were both happy. The nuns noticed the child's behavior because of them. They rejoiced as they watched.
The boy took the food again and gave it to Pershey.
"Give brother Neil too if he's not your boyfriend," he ordered. Neil was shocked but Pershey was already smiling.
"Sure, why not?" she says. She also gave the graham ball at Neil and she retaliated as well. Neil could almost swallow as he chewed the graham ball. Pershey also gave him water.
The child laughs and they are silent as they look at the child. The child leaned on Pershey's shoulder and his laughter gradually subsided until he fell asleep.
Neil picked up the child and carried him to his room. Pershey hugged the child and kissed his forehead before he left the room.
"Thankyou, hija," said the nun. Their reaction was marked by joy and delight. "Only now have we seen him happy and we are happy too."
"You're welcome, Sister."
"Thank you too, Neil," she added.
"Welcome," he replied.
Before leaving, Pershey took a paper. Inside the paper, there is only money. The nun accepted it and thanked her. They said goodbye and left.
They visit the child in the orphanage almost every day. The child became comfortable with them and many changes happened to the child because of them. Neil also tells the child about him when he was a child. The three of them often comfort the child together until they become comfortable with each other because they spend time together at the orphanage every day whenever they visit the child.
They became close to each other because of the child and the avoidable feeling of falling gradually subsided.
