FOURTY FIVE - GOODBYE
I still can't believe we're graduating already!" Sandwich said with a smile too wide that I thought it would really lose it's elastic.
We were all dressing up at my house cause uju was helping with our makeover and in the cause of the dressing up and stuff we had subconsciously infused chattering as as essential to our amazing makeup

sandwich and sophie still thought it was unbelievable to finish secondary in a short spam of time
Tell me, who the hell thinks that 6 freaking years of some exciting hell is short?
"Yea..it feels so surreal..like just yesterday we were new students in Berley international high and today we're like the oldies of the school"sophie said in agreement, causing me to roll my eyes
"Yes keep rolling your eyes..maybe you'll find a brain back there" sandwich snorted beside me while the girls laughed as I shot her my best glare
"May your makeup smudge before we leave this house" I said in what should have sounded like a curse instead it made her exclaim dramatically
"Fuck you!"
I shook my head at her, deciding to ignore her. ..she was way way dramatic than I ever thought
"Mehn..I'm trying not to cry right now..like I'm happy and sad at the same time..gosh!"sola said through gritted teeth.
That was because Uju had her head turned upwards so she could comfortably draw her a killer eyeliner.so she said
"I'm happy we've come this far anyway...I'm pretty sure i'll ruin my makeup in happy sobs when I'm going to be matching down the aisle" sophie replied and I laughed
"So las las that smudged makeup cuss is for sophie na" I said and she shot me a hard look
"Ogini? Your eyes will soon wash my makeup off..just by glaring" I said smirking and she huffed
"Sha..I don't have your power now.." she said in resignation making me grin widely
"Woah!"Uju exclaimed, spinning the chair which sola sat on to face the vanity mirror
"Aww..sola you look beautiful" I cooed in admiration as she flashed a wide grin smile at Uju
"I know right..I can't even help falling in love with myself right now"she gushed
"Aww..I'm so pleased"Uju said and I laughed, trust her to feel herself in moments like this but then she did an amazing job with sola's makeover
It was neat, nude and yet gorgeously perfected on her
"Thanks so much Uju..."sola said in an appreciative tone
"You're welcome dear" I replied and the both of them shot me a look that read out shut -up
I feigned a zipper on my lips as Uju replied "you're welcome huni.."
I stood in front of the mirror checking out my wine coloured flare dress which was abit above my knee.it had a a caped v-neck that slightly showed my cleavage, I paired the dress with a pair of silver stilettos..i smiled in contentment at my appearance..I looked hot, no cap.
"Go away joor..you're blocking the view" a whiny voice which I recognized to be sandwich's own said
I struck a pose in front of the mirror "bish, I'm the view so deal with it" I sassed
She eyed me playfully before dragging my being away from the mirror
"Girls!!..the guys are.."mum paused, her eyes flew in astonishment as she stared at us
"Oh my good lord! You girls look stunning"
"Aww..thanks mum" we chorused.the girls also called my mum, mum.to which mum didn't mind
She nodded still eyeing us in admiration "anyway I came to check if you girls are done..seems like the time wasting is worth it" she said and that got us giggling.
Soon, we all stepped out of the house looking all gorgeous. kelechi my best bro just had to droll at us before I had smacked his head straight earning me a glare..he claimed that i will ruin his haircut..I rolled my eyes and soon got myself laughing so hard, I was about stepping into a car when a familiar figure approached me
"Meera"he called softly. I whipped my head behind to get a glimpse of the person
"Mr fred!"I replied, giving him a warm smile.I hadn't gotten adjusted to the idea of calling him dad yet..not because he drunkenly made a mistake that caused the loss of my boyfriend's mum, No.but because, I was still getting to know him and al
He wasn't living with us but sometimes he visited.mum said she had forgiven him, even my siblings and so had I..besides it really wasn't going to do any of us any good to hold onto bad memories, so why keep them?
He pulled me into a hug, patting my back proudly as he kept saying that he was proud of me and happy that i was his daughter and he was sorry for not being there for me and many other emotional talks that got me sobbing and smiling at the same time.
We make mistakes,sometimes grievous ones.but we still deserve a second chance and I was willing to give my dad a second chance, to learn to accept him, love him despite all odds..and I was happy that I wasn't the only one who was willing to do that. Uju, my mum and kelechi..we were all in this together.
To bond as a family once again.

"Give a round of applause as we welcome the head girl as she fives us her valedictory speech" the MC's voice boomed through the microphone as everyone clapped and cheered in excitement while clara made her way to the stage.
My parents and siblings were sitted miles away from where the graduands sat together with other parents while I, my girlfriends and the guys excluding dozie;the guys told me he had his flight booked by 10am so he probably won't show up.
Anyway, the rest of us were sitted with our fellow classmates looking all regale in our different outfits which we donned over with the sky blue graduation gown.
Everyone watched clara taking dainty and graceful steps to the stage to give her speech as the head girl.everyone had their attention at her as she began speaking,soon she had the whole hall in an enraptured silence, rolling the words off her tongue like she had been an orator all her life.
"Thank you everyone for making today one of the best remarkable days in our lives.."she started in a polished accent
"high school had been what we can call one hell of a rollercoaster..and despite the challenges encountered all through our six years, we're happy to come out still in one piece..." she paused as the crowd chuckled
" we'll be forever grateful to Berley high because our coming out in one piece wasn't just a piece..but a refined and a well groomed piece of productivity and we are proud of what we've become..we've learned and we're still learning..."
".....we're proud to have been part of this great citadel, a school with a motivating vision and an incredulous mission....and to my fellow students, I encourage all of us to continue to persevere in hardworking, face the future with courage and most of all learn,love and live." Her eyes sparkled in excitement and her cheeks seemed like they were almost puffing out as she flashed a deep genuine smile to grace her expression.you could hardly believe she was capable of bitching around you with those lovely expression glowing on her face. and I was genuinely proud that there was something she could do well afterall not just an upstart..
Soon we sang the graduation song we had rehearsed earlier before now and after the award presentation,took tons of pictures before we danced..i was happy and so also were my friends. Including the guys who had become my best friends since this term and forever. I couldn't help grinning widely as I remembered when the came over to my house, displaying their best attitudes.

No.we weren't back together incase you're wondering, but things weren't edgy for the both of us
Anyway, the point is that;
they all came over to my house a day before graduation, to catch on more fun but they ended up making the whole house sparkle cause Ayo insisted to make food for everyone and succeeded in burning the food which Adam and priye decided to punish him by letting him clean the house up..luckily, he really didn't do much
And then during the graduation, they, I.E Ayo, priye and Adam were all dressed in a black tux except for Ayo who choose to wear a wine coloured tuxedo.
"What the fuck?were you spying on me when I was dressing? " he exclaimed in an amused glint as I fake gagged
"Ewwww...he- goat" I said swapping my arms around his head as he yelped
"Ouch!"
"Serves you right.." I retorted and he gave me this pouty cute face that got me laughing
"You girls look gorgeous" Priye said, giving his girlfriend a small kiss on the lips..

There was Sophie dancing rather cheerfully to killin' dem by Burnaboy ft zlatan. only that she had one cheesy demon dancing with her and that happened to be;

Well, great.
By now, the song had changed to sensiima by skibbii ft rekardo bankz.
I glanced at sandwich who was sitted quite comfortably beside Adam. "Heyo sandwich..you want to dance?"I asked her and she shook her head
"No!..dancing isn't my thing!"she replied not sparing a glance at my shocked expression else she would have seen how wide my eyes flew open
Wtf?
"Heyo sandwich...since when?"I asked her again with a smirk as she snapped playfully

I wriggled my eyebrows at her "hey..."

Soon, the rest of our clique who had returned completely exhausted and it didn't take much time before they started chattering amongst themselves when the beep sound of my phone interrupted my-

Well, I got to pick my phone to read the text message and couldn't help smiling as every words flashed through my mind..it went like this;

I stared at the message for sometime, I was smiling so much, so happily as I read and re-read our text untill my smile had subconsciously broke into a hearty laugh
And soon I was laughing with my crazy friends who didn't have an idea why I was laughing yet they were laughing with me..this year was the best way of my life and I was going to hold on to that.
Three months later
"See big girl overnight !" Kelechi teased as I dragged my damn heavy bags behind me.I was leaving for school today in unilateral and the sweet brother of mine deemed it wise to tease me instead of helping my arse

He laughed, ignoring the glares I was shooting him "should I give you tips on campus life as per fresher things?"he asked and I glare harder at him
"Get out..no one needs your tip"

He smirked "I thought you won't ask? You've been claiming James bond since"

I bit back a hiss I was struggling to let out as I glared at his behind, raising it up to dare a slap at him and after weighing the pros and cons..I thought otherwise
Pros- I'd get a good measurable amount of sense stuck into his block head
Cons- he'd abandon my frustratingly heavy bag for me to carry it all alone and that was the least thing I wanted to do
So, I had wisely let him off and while dropping my hands to my side and in the process, pushing an innocent book to the floor.
I bent down to pick it up and a wow..I had ended up looking at it all over again
Twas funny how some people started their love stories from being in the park, some where from school excursions, blind dates, crushes from afar, hatin' to datin' and what have you..and now I see it more clearly, how I fell in love with him was something unimaginable
And i still believe that if I wasn't the grumpy, sassy Meera Johnson I wouldn't have a love story to write about with the perverted, goofy, intelligent, handsome douche called Dozie freaking Mattews.
A small smile tugged at the coner of my lips as I ran my fingers to trace the drawing in the book which dozie had given me. It was a drawing of both of us in a couple attire and a huge grin on our faces..we were happy, serenely happy..and I knew, I prayed, I hoped that we would meet someday again.
