“I need to take a shower,” I say, pulling my head away from Filippo's chest. “Do you want to keep me company?”
Filippo smiles mischievously, and I smile complicitly. I can't help it, I've been missing Filippo for two months, and it's inside me, it's included in the package of longing.

“Dominic and Demetrius came to the house, Vicenzo accepted the breach of contract and you are no longer obligated to marry me, but Vicenzo said he would not give up the baby.”
“What do you mean? What baby?” I ask with a bad feeling that I will not like the answer.
“Famiglia is everything to an Italian Mafioso, and since our son has my blood, is a Valentini, and is part of the famiglia, since none of my other brothers have children, that makes this baby the Valentini's heir and threatened your grandfather to take the child from you…”
“You can't do that!” I exclaim and stand up.
“Dominic and Demetrius objected, and vowed to go to war if Vincenzo did so.”
“War? But Dominic says he preferred to kill his own daughter rather than countless innocents in a war, and now he's going in for a baby?”
“Dominic tried to kill me during the visit, he was against the war, the one who promised it was Demetrius, he thinks differently from his father.”
“So, in any case, will I be forced to marry you?”

I shut up at his answer, take a deep breath, and try to calm myself down;
“What's next? What will it be like?” I question and sit down again next to him on the bed.
Filippo's cell phone starts ringing, he leaves it ringing, but the person is so insistent that when he calls for the third time I tell him to answer it.
“Lais? Has something happened?” Filippo speaks as he answers. “Oddio! How wonderful!” Filippo begins to smile and tears shine in his eyes, I just watch him. “As soon as I finish here I will come back to you, thank you very much for calling me.”
Filippo hangs up and holds the cell phone tightly, what could have happened to make him so happy? If I remember correctly, I heard this name: Lais, at the wedding of Filippo's cousin, if I am not mistaken, she is Matteo's wife.
Filippo looks at me and starts talking:
“I want to marry you, not because we are being forced by an agreement, but because we love each other. Unfortunately, I can't promise you that our son will stay out of the mob, as I said, he is so far the direct heir of the famiglia. But I promise to be the best father to him. I will never let anyone hurt them again.”
“And will we have to live in Italy?”
“Yes, I have to assume my responsibilities as a member of the Valentini family, I can't run away anymore, my brothers need me. You, will you come with me?”
