Getting dressed was so simple to slip into the suite. It is Harlow I feel for as there tends to be more grooming needs.
Time seems to slow right before the crowd bows down onto a knee, just as they had done for me walking up. With the crowd being down, I can see my beautiful mate even more radiant tonight.
Any area that she has a jewel on the moon light seems to capture the gems, making them sparkle off of her. Harlow's crown takes most of the sparkle but on her hand the ring I gave her rests. Pride swells in me as she has not taken it off since I gave it to her.
Each step Harlow took, made her seem as if she is gliding across the ground. Maybe it is just me.
It's not. Our mate is absolutely radiant. Ezekiel shimmers down lower than I have ever felt him go before.
I hold my hand out and Harlow takes it in assisting her up the few stairs. Keeping our hands together we move to the table that holds an ancient bowl. Malik and Czar standing on the opposite side of the bowl than we are. The two of us are standing sideways to our most trusted second in commands in front of the gathering of our people to where they are able to bare witness this event.
Once we are in position everyone rises from being bowed down. Not a sound could be heard. It should seem even the nature around us is quiet and watching.
"Tonight we hold the mating ceremony for King Cohen of Dragons to Queen Harlow of Wolves. Is there anyone that wants to challenge this mateship?" Malik speaks up loud for all to hear.
Harlow and I keep our heads facing the bowl, but her small uptick in heart rate tells me she is nervous. Malik waits the appropriate two minutes and no one speaks out against us.
"It is a rare but joyous mateship between these two. As it is the first documented case of an outer species mating. We give thanks to the spirits for bring another pair together as mates." Malik speaks up.
"Queen Harlow, may you please hold out your left hand." Czar starts his part of the speech, grabbing the special blade for the ceremony.
Once Harlow puts her hand out, Czar moves the blade to hovering over her hand.
"With this blade, it will draw the blood of the female within the mateship. Once your blood has been placed into the ancient bowl you will begin the mating bonds." With that he gently guides the blade over her palm.
"King Cohen, may you please hold your right hand out." Malik follows the same steps as Czar had done.
With our palms cut open, they each move and instruct us to place our hands together over top of the bowl. We watch as with the special blade used it slows the healing ability, allowing an amount into the bassin.
"With the blood of each mate within the bowl, I will now add in the red rose. The red rose, being the color of blood, is the symbol of their deep emotional connection and love. As their blood is mixing, binding them even closer together as mates." Malik places the flower down and stirs it around.
"The flower is holding form. As means that their mateship shall remain pure and strong for hundreds of years they will be by each others side." Czar takes over speaking.
"Please place your hands together that are being held over the ancient mating bowl." Czar smiles.
Harlow and I follow the instructions. As soon as our hands touch and the cuts connect, there is a bright light that seems to overcome my vision.
"As the blood and flower remains with one, they are now connecting within mind and soul." Malik finishes.
Once I am able to see again, it should seem Harlow experienced the same with how she is blinking.
"If the mating ceremony has been properly completed than their cut will be no more." Czar takes over.
We gently let go of each others hand at the same time. Turning to the crowd, we raise up the palms used showing there is no longer the bladed mark.
"The mating ceremony is complete as King Cohen and Queen Harlow are true mates." Malik and Czar speak at the same timing ending the mating ceremony.
Everyone stands tall clapping their hands. All I want to do is kiss my mate, so I take her hand and spin her into my arms. She looks at me with so much love it hurts. My lips descend on hers and we share a passion filled kiss in front of everyone.
With each passing second it seems as though I can feel Harlow more and more through the bond. All her emotions are swirling into me as mine are into her. Flashes of her life before I knew her pass through my mind, like an over hyper movie. The bond is officially completed and I couldn't be happier. I kiss her a little hard and we pull away.
We face the crowd once more.
"Now it is time to hold the merging ceremony so that the Dragons and Wolves will be one together." My voice speaks loud and clear.
Malik and Czar move the ancient bowl off of the stand and replace it with a different blade and a wrapping cloth made from silk and vines.
Harlow and I move to stand across from each other.
"I wish to merge all the dragons to the wolves forming a new pack. I, the King of Dragons, give strength to my mate Queen of Wolves." I pick up the blade and prick my finger.
"I wish to merge all the wolves to the dragons forming a new pack. I, the Queen of Wolves, give strength to my mate King of Dragons." I watch Harlow follow the same steps.
We each take the end of the cloth and together wrap our fingers to each other.
"This small symbol shall make it pass that the dragons and wolves will be one together under our rule. We shall live in peace together each and everyone of us bond but the special mind link wolves possess. As their strength will mix into ours. The wolves will be granted the strengths of heat for not as harmful to them from dragons."
No sooner than I finish the speech, my head is filled with to many things at once and I drop to my knees.
For the ones not used to this. Close your mind off to the outside. Push each and everyone out. Once that is complete the pain will be no more. After this is done you can officially mind link to anyone with our new grouping you may desire. Harlow's voice is the loudest in my head and out of everyone elses, being Queen hers will be just like mine after this.
It doesn't take long to go through and do what Harlow had instructed. I stand back up and take Harlow's hand.
"We are now the Newlings." Harlow finishes ending the ceremony.
"Long live our King and Queen." Everyone shouts and bows down before us.
