Zhu Quan was searching for information about Yu Zhuang online. After being threatened by Shen Qingyue, he confessed everything to his wife, who was usually submissive and timid. However, at first, he was not really afraid because they had already had children together, so he thought she wouldn’t do anything drastic. She took a deep breath. They were still outside and could not make a scene. “Qin Zhen, ask yourself, how have I treated you since we met? Even if you don’t have a conscience, you should have a brain, right?”
Seeing her magnanimous appearance, Qin Zhen frowned and hesitated.
Shen Qingyue pulled the corners of her mouth into a self-mocking smile. “Forget it, think whatever you want. In your eyes, what am I worth? You only believe what you see, no matter what others do, as long as it bothers you.”
She suppressed her coldness and faced Qin Zhen directly. “Mr. Qin, let me remind you. If you ever dare to lay a hand on me again, we’ll have a chat at the police station.” With that, she left with Yu Zhuang, without sparing him another glance.
Qin Zhen watched her retreating figure, his fingers curling into his palm. In the past couple of days, he had seen her leave several times without looking back. She had never let him see her back before.
Qin Zhen stood there for a while before he said coldly, “Zhu Quan, explain to me.”
Zhu Quan trembled all over. “Mr. Qin, I didn’t mean it. Please spare me this time, and I promise to work harder in the future!”
He only wanted to tarnish Shen Qingyue’s reputation and make Qin Zhen leave her sooner. He did not expect Qin Zhen to confront Shen Qingyue about their past.
Qin Zhen stared at him. “Even you betrayed me.”
He closed his eyes, exhausted. There were too many unhappy things in the past two days. “Go to the HR department tomorrow to complete the resignation procedures. Don’t let me see you again.”
After leaving the hotel, Shen Qingyue returned to the Shen family residence. Just as she got out of the car, she saw her uncle coming out with his daughter.
“Qingyue, why are you back so late?” Shen Da greeted her warmly.
Shen Qingyue did not have a good impression of this uncle. The things that Shen Da did in her previous life were equally disgusting. However, she still had to be hypocritical now. She smiled faintly and said, “I just finished work. Why are you here? I…”
