“Fashion show?” Ye Lingchen froze. Could it be like on television, where models dressed up and did a catwalk?
“Young Master Ye, our fashion show is different from ordinary fashion shows. This is an artiste fashion show for singers and the lineups are all first-rank music stars. They will be wearing the latest designs from major brands while making their public appearance. This is considered a grand occasion and it’s worth your time to watching it,” Jia Di said.
Ye Lingchen nodded. A fashion show was a very big event indeed, and for the most part, music stars were not in the same league as ordinary models. It was a win-win cooperation between music stars and major fashion brands with the sole aim of increasing popularity.
“What time will the event be tomorrow?”
“It starts at eight o’clock at night.”
Eight o’clock clashed with Ye Lingchen’s live stream time, but it was not like he could not adjust it. There was no class on Thursday afternoon, so Ye Lingchen was going to bring forward the live stream by one hour.

Capital’s largest commercial building had the most luxurious stage, and most of Capital’s catwalks would be held there.
There were already plenty of people when Ye Lingchen arrived. The whole plaza was filled with cars, and the interior of the commercial building was brightly lit, making it look extravagant under the night sky.
People came and went in the entrance of the commercial building. All of them were dressed luxuriously, like accomplished people. Every single gesture of theirs was elegant and graceful.
Ye Lingchen silently took out the electronic invitation Jia Di sent to him and went inside.
The interior was an extremely spacious hall with no pillars in sight. One could see the entire place with a glance.
At the forefront of the hall was a big red stage. A red carpet in the center led from the front of the door to the stage and many upper-class individuals gathered around in merriment.
Some of them were well-known models who were seeking some local rich men in the hopes of scoring some wealth.
Some were tycoons in the apparel industry, whose simple decision to engage in cooperation had the potential to change the future of the entire fashion industry.
There were also some big names from other industries, like songwriters and composers from the music industry. They had their own circles and happily chatted away.
Ye Lingchen glanced at them and did not find it surprising that he knew none of them. That did not bother him though, as he quietly kept to himself in a corner and ate his food.
Food and drink were laid out at arm’s length all around the hall, with waiters coming and going to serve the guests.
Ye Lingchen was sitting alone and looked very ordinary. He was just like any other plain individual and did not attract anyone’s attention. Many young models held their glass of red wine in their hands and glanced at Ye Lingchen briefly before looking away in disdain.
As time passed, more and more people came in. Ye Lingchen’s unique presence gradually attracted more attention, but most people simply looked away.
Everyone within the circle knew each other to some extent and were certainly acquainted with some of those young masters. Ye Lingchen was a completely fresh face and none of them knew how he even managed to get in, so it was only natural that no one would take the initiative to talk to him.
However, it was then that a woman from a group paused after looking at him. She let out a silent gasp and walked slowly toward Ye Lingchen.
“Hello, student. Have we met before?”
Her voice was very soft and made a profound first impression as if a bowl of clear spring water was flowing slowly in front of them.
“Are you…Teacher Xu?” Ye Lingchen stunned slightly, then surprised.
Xu Wanqing graduated from Huaqing University and took up a position in the school right after graduation. She was the beauty queen of Huaqing University and the stereotypical mild-mannered woman. Although they had only met once during the basketball game, she left a deep impression with Ye Lingchen.
On that day, Xu Wanqing wore a long red dress and was still wearing the same glasses. Although it covered half of her face, her perfect figure and outstanding character were still capable of making her stand out from the crowd.
Xu Wanqing smiled and asked suddenly, “Why are you here?”
“A friend of mine is very interested in fashion design and invited me to accompany him.” Ye Lingchen replied.
“Then your friend is not any ordinary person,” Xu Wanqing quipped. “You’re quite modest, aren’t you Student Ye? You’re not only a good basketball player; you’re also very strong in math and make very interesting friends.”
“I’m just here to fill in the crowd.” Ye Lingchen smiled. He then asked, “Ms. Xu, why are you here?”
“Me…” Xu Wanqing paused before saying, “I was forced to come.”
“Forced?” Ye Lingchen was surprised. “Why?”
“My family told me to. I thought it would be boring, but I was surprised to see you here, Student Ye.” Xu Wanqing winked at Ye Lingchen. “The formula you used last time wasn’t something that college students can master. Do you usually research mathematics? ”
“Sometimes.” Ye Lingchen nodded.
“Only sometimes?” Xu Wanqing frowned. “You’re a freshman. How is it that know such complex formulas?”
“Maybe it’s talent.”
Xu Wanqing rolled her eyes at Ye Lingchen. “Student Ye, it’s not good to brag. I’ve been working on a math question recently. I’ll believe you if you can answer it.”
“Alright, bring it on.” Ye Lingchen patted his chest, and handed Xu Wanqing a glass of orange juice. “The juices here are all fresh. They have an exceptional variety of fruits and the taste is good too. Try it. ”
“Exquisite!”
Xu Wanqing smiled and took the juice from Ye Lingchen. In the meantime, she began talking about her math question.
Ye Lingchen answered Xu Wanqing while listening, and the two got along very well.
Although it was only the second time Ye Lingchen and Xu Wanqing met, Xu Wanqing’s character was phenomenal. She was a quiet intellectual, with a temperament similar to that of a darling daughter from a noble family. Her nature easily made others feel a sense of familiarity with her.
Ye Lingchen’s mathematical achievement made Xu Wanqing feel as though he was meant for her. The two of them were like old friends who had not seen each other for many years and were getting along incredibly well.
Xu Wanqing was initially just bored and wanted to relieve that boredom after spotting Ye Lingchen. Little did she expect him to surprise her like that. Ye Lingchen’s brain circuits were lucid and lively, and in most cases, he often took an alternative way of looking at things, which enlightened Xu Wanqing in many different aspects. The formulae he used sometimes went beyond that of Xu Wanqing’s knowledge, thus allowing her to learn a lot.
“You’re amazing, Student Ye.” Xu Wanqing looked at Ye Lingchen with admiration. “Why not come to Huaqing University? I recommend you to join the Mathematics Department. With your talents, you can accomplish great things in mathematics.”
“That’s fine, of course, but can I take the liberty to ask you something?”
“What is it?”
Ye Lingchen was a little shy. “Then…would you like to be my girlfriend? Someone like Teacher Xu is just perfect.”
