The ride was quiet. Lenew hardly said a word to me as we rode. The road was not familiar. Honestly I only wanted to get to my brother and husband. I needed to see them.
When Lenew pulled up to a small farmhouse in the middle of nowhere the first thing I noticed was my brother standing on the porch waiting for me. I jumped out of the car before it even stopped.
“Waylen! What the hell is going on?” I asked him as I wrapped my arms around him.
“Did Maggie give you a code word?” He asked.
“I do not think so. She called said you were missing and that I was pregnant, which is virtually impossible and freaking me out a little,” I said.
Waylen smirked at me. “It is a code. I am not missing completely and you are definitely not pregnant,” he says.
“Why did you two leave me behind,” I asked.
“That was not the intention. We grabbed Bishop and were in the process of grabbing you too when we were ambushed,” Waylen says.
“By whom?” I ask.
Waylen hesitated. “Miya, it is complicated.”
“Is this because I married a vamp,” I asked.
“No. It is because you turned down a wolf and married a vamp instead,” he said.
“I did not turn down anyone. I made it perfectly clear I never wanted to get married,” I said.
“But you did marry,” he said.
“I guess I did. I did not plan on it Waylen. I just feel so in love with him. Is Bishop okay?” I ask.
“He is fine. He is waiting for you. I will be returning home to Maggie. I need you guys to stay here a few days while I sort things out with the wolves,” Waylen says.
He hugs me tight. “I love you sis. Everything will be okay. Lenew will keep an eye on you. You can trust him.”
“Waylen, what does the code mean. The code Maggie gave me?” I ask
“It means our mother has been located,” he says.
Waylen hugs me one more time and leaves quickly.
I stand on the porch thinking about what he said. My mother is still alive. No one has seen her since I was very young.
“Miya?” Bishop says softly as he places his hand on my shoulder.
I turn to look at him. “My love,” I say. I place my hand on his face.
“Are you okay?” he asks.
“Yes. Considering my honeymoon was interrupted,” I say with the weakest smile I can manage.
“Well we are here all alone for a few days while your mother is located and the wolves are calmed down,” he says.
“So what are we going to do while we wait,” I ask.
Bishop picks me up and carries me into the house. “I put fresh sheets on the bed and got a bottle of wine from the creepy basement,” he says.
“You did. Aren’t you a naughty vamp boy? You think you will seduce me with fresh sheets and a bottle of wine?” I say to him as I brush my hand across his face.
I run my hand the back of his neck into his hair. I love the way his hair feels in my hand.
“Take me to bed my sexy vampy beast,” I say as I forcefully kiss his lips. “I want you.”
My sexy husband carried me to bed. “I hope you plan to make up for this horrible day I have had vamp,” I say.
“I do my sweet wolf. I plan on giving you an amazing night,” he says.
He lays me on the bed. “Wine?” he asks.
