Hyper-Dimensional Player Chapter 28

There was even a painting left later, depicting Saint Peter and Saint Paul protecting the Pope, warning the Barbarian Race not to invade the "Eternal City," Rome. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the power of the Church began to grow explosively. During this time, it was essentially a process of unifying divine authority, with all the Divine Spirits of the Age of Gods being swept into the garbage heap of history. Sacrifices were gradually prohibited. Although the Germanic Barbarians’ Divine Spirits disappeared a bit later, the European continent would ultimately still witness a unification of faith. "It always feels like there’s something deep and complicated about this!" For Duncan, if there were no Supernatural Powers, the change in divine authority would mostly be a secular choice, but if there were Supernatural Powers, then it all becomes intriguing. "I might as well go to Britain." "Just in time to consider helping the Irish, Welsh, and Scots against the Anglo-Saxons, and incidentally boost my Legendary Level." "The first Human Form better not get recklessly killed." "I have a feeling that the final achievements of the Human Form will affect everything I have in the Dimension Space." The legends of King Arthur, which are related to the Lake Fairy, at most involve the Mist-covered Avalon, not to the extent of touching those terrifyingly awe-inspiring beings. Duncan is clear on his own capabilities. The Romans themselves abandoned their own Divine Spirits, so what excitement could an outsider like him possibly join in? He might as well kill some legendary monsters and see if he can seize their abilities, potentially becoming a powerful Supernatural entity himself. —"Master of Archery [Title of Archer]: Your archery skills have become extraordinary, earning you the title of a divine archer among mortals. Enhanced Continuous Fire, Enemy Intimidation, greatly increasing accuracy." —"Mastery of Riding Skill: Your Riding Skill is on par with the elite riders of nomadic tribes; you can practically become one with the horse while riding." —"Exquisite Mounted Archery: Your Mounted Archery skills are exceptionally profound, enough to rival the elite mounted archers of the Huns. Greatly enhancing mounted archery accuracy, you can perform various archery techniques while riding, including but not limited to Continuous Fire, Multishot, Sniping, etc." Duncan glanced at the witch by the fire, his gaze lingering on her round and firm posture for a moment, swallowed, and took out a small notebook to tally. The witch is capable in battle and healing, and quite large as well. No wonder in the future deduced by the Law of Cause and Effect, the Human Form is so enamored, if not for the Lake Fairy’s intervention later on, it might have been a beautiful love story. Duncan knows this mythological figure as well, a very powerful witch with a romantic mind, who turned dark after being betrayed and abandoned by her husband, launching a series of revenge. Overall, Medea does indeed have the reputation of being a witch, but ultimately she is a tragic figure. Duncan wasn’t sure where the two of them had arrived, feeling like it might be near Munich, as from here one could directly overlook the snow-covered mountains. Upon entering the Gaul regions within the mountains, it was Crow Queen Triss leading the way. The two avoided densely populated areas, trekking along mountain paths for a day and a night, eventually entering a lush and thick forest. "Traveling in this era really isn’t convenient." Because of the heavy rain yesterday, Duncan now had mud all over his feet, and Crow Queen Triss wasn’t much better off, with dust all over her face and no longer bearing the graceful and stunning appearance from before. A person indeed relies on clothing, otherwise even a great beauty would look like a country bumpkin after rolling through mud. Duncan now confirms that Crow Queen Triss has the physical attributes of an ordinary person, at most a bit stronger, because she slipped while entering the Alps. If Duncan hadn’t swiftly caught her, Triss might’ve sustained a minor injury. However, her clothes were still covered in mud, and her golden hair was soaked with mud and rainwater, strands sticking to her forehead, revealing a smooth expanse. "The guide you mentioned, they’re not living in the mountains, are they?" The drizzle was still falling, drenching them and bringing a slight chill. Duncan, fortified by the ’Strength’ talent taken from the Barbarians, felt better. Still, Triss looked pale from the cold. The witch said rather woefully, "They should be nearby." Duncan didn’t bother to admire the curves revealed by her soaked clothes, and took off a coat scavenged from the dead, tossing it to her: "Put this on first." "There’s a place ahead where we can shelter from the rain, let’s rest for a bit before searching." Over a hundred meters away there was a slope, at a forty-five-degree angle, not really a cave, but just enough for the two to huddle underneath to avoid rain. Perhaps due to inheriting the Barbarian Warrior’s talent, Duncan’s injuries were healing faster than expected, potentially aided by the witch’s collected herbs, or even possibly some Magic she cast on him. "A witch is also just flesh and blood." Looking at the bedraggled witch, Duncan let her sit further inside, his tall frame shielding them from the wind. Unable to find dry kindling nearby to start a fire, Duncan glanced at the witch and said, "Rest here a bit, I’ll go over there and have a look." Duncan found a spot with an unobstructed view, briefly meditated, and his consciousness entered the Dimension Space. Soon, the large map projected before his eyes. "Can the map be expanded?" With a thought, the terrain map of a dozen or so miles around appeared before him, and he located a village mark, then discovered a wooden house several miles away from their location.
