Fu Shu was so anxious that he could barely control his expression. He was finally rescued, but his rescuer was insane.
“We need to plan this carefully. Our main goal is to escape. When we return to reality, I can contact my friends, and we can deal with Immortal Pharma together!” Fu Shu tried his best to persuade Gao Ming, “The Unmentionables are beyond human comprehension. They cannot be mentioned. Dream almost destroyed Xin Lu. Immortal Pharma barely succeeded after conducting so many experiments. Why do you think you’ll succeed?
“Please wake up! You just obtained the Dream Release method. Before the Xi God, you are a baby. Where do you get the confidence that you could eat the other Gods at Dream Break Town?” Fu Shu had no hands, or he’d strangle Gao Ming.
“I don’t know, but I feel that the God in me is close to the Unmentionables. He only needs three, no, two steps to become an Unmentionable.” After eating the eight Minor Xi Gods’ hearts, Gao Ming could get a clearer sense of the God of Flesh and Blood’s power.
“Zhang Mingli’s Dream Release is to help you release your nightmare, not for you to daydream!” Fu Shu didn’t want to argue with Gao Ming anymore. It was pointless.
“It has been decided. If you want to leave this place alive, you should provide some useful information like how to weaken the Xi God.” Gao Ming was very rational, especially when he wanted to kill.
Fu Shu frowned. “Xi God is different from the Yong Gods, such as the butcher. His main consciousness is spread into the endless nightmares provided by the Immortal Pharma. They are like roots invading different pools to drain the nightmares’ nutrients. Once he gains enough joy, he will use the wedding ceremony with Madam Xi to possess a night gentleman and return to Dream Break Town.”
“Does this mean Xi God can’t return if we kill Madam Xi?”
“It’s not that simple. Other than Madam Xi, there are many things in this town related to the Xi God. He could possess any of them.” Fu Shu shook his head. “With Zhang Mingli’s help, you could heavily injure the Xi God, but killing him is impossible… unless you can eliminate all the nightmares given to him by Immortal Pharma. You sure know how to choose your target because Xi God is the hardest to deal with among the thirteen Gods.”
The shadow of the God of Flesh and Blood disappeared. The sound of sutra chanting entered Gao Ming’s ears. There was a voice telling him to leave Dream Break Town. Gao Ming glanced out the entrance. The weasel that almost became a human glared at him coolly. Its clothes were almost red.
“Fu Shu, I have another question. What is the deal with the monsters outside the town? How are they different from the ghosts in the town?”
“When testers like you enter the deep-level nightmare, you’ll directly spawn in Dream Break Town because you are living humans. The water ghosts, weasels, beasts and corpses outside of town were brought there by Immortal Pharma from other nightmares. They are the amalgamation of various emotions. They were already dead, so they couldn’t enter the town easily.” Fu Shu explained the situation. Gao Ming’s expression changed drastically.
Of all the testers, Gao Ming was the only one who spawned in the mass grave outside of town!
“I am already dead?! Am I an amalgamation of emotions? No. Something must be wrong.” Gao Ming thought to himself. He didn’t continue this topic. He picked up the items dropped by the wedding procession and tossed them at the weasel. “Here. Share some joy.”
It was the butcher who killed the Minor Xi Gods and the weasels were the first to come to the scene. Gao Ming thought they deserved some rewards too.
Some of the weasels instantly fought for the items. However, the leading weasel in the red clothes didn’t move. Its human eyes stared at Gao Ming. Then, it gestured at Gao Ming. Sadly, Gao Ming didn’t mean to communicate. He turned and left.
After consuming the eight hearts, the God of Flesh and Blood’s sensitivity to joy increased. In his hunger, he guided Gao Ming’s path.
“After being killed by the butcher, where did the wedding procession go?” Gao Ming returned to the Xi Residence. He wanted to see if he could find anything good there. However, the Xi Residence’s gate was sealed by blood. Animal brains grew out of the wall. The yard was filled with animal calls.
“Has the butcher entered the Xi Residence?”
With God’s guidance, Gao Ming didn’t enter the Xi Residence but chose a different path. He carried Fu Shu to the other side of town. He stepped on the paper money and stared down the path. There was an opening on the southeast side of the town. The nearby residences were tattered and old. The air was strangely humid. Other than paper money, the floor was also scattered with fish scales and blood.
“Has the wedding procession left the town through another path?” Gao Ming heard water flowing outside the town.
“I’d advise you not to take this path.” Fu Shu placed his chin on Gao Ming’s shoulder. “The town’s southeast side is close to the big river. A Water Dragon King resides there. It is extremely dangerous. Normally, the town citizens need to prepare boys, girls, and livestock to sacrifice for the Dragon King. Did you not notice how this path is covered in scales and no footprints? This path is not for walking but for the Water Dragon King’s sacrifice.”
“Those who target children should be killed. Why haven’t the people in town done anything?” Gao Ming didn’t think the ghosts in town were weaker than the Water Dragon King.
“They are no match for the Water Dragon King underwater. Plus, it’s impossible for them to work together. They’d start fighting each other before they fight the Dragon King.” Fu Shu lost all hope in the town he had created.
After some hesitation, Gao Ming still followed the path out of town. A few minutes later, Gao Ming saw a bound kid by the roadside. He saw the kid at the wedding feast before. He was one of the kids who stood at the gate to welcome the guests.
He just wanted to rush over to help the kid when he realised the kid’s stomach had already been eaten.
“The procession sacrificed this kid to cross the river safely.” Fu Shu sighed. “Normally, there wouldn’t just be one sacrifice. There were other children who were thrown into the river.”
