“I will not say anything!” Luo Dong’s wife panicked. Everything she looked at, there was something terrifying: a man caged among the torture devices, accompanied by his mother; the bloody surgical table; the burning forge of souls… this didn’t look like the place of a good person.
“At least remember that it was I who saved you and your family,” Gao Ming didn’t harm the woman. After she entered the torture room, her fate was already bound to him, “I’ll send you out of here. Please help me tell Luo Dong one thing. I’m Gao Ming. I’m one of the founders of Dead Water Forum.”
The torture room opened. Gao Ming and Luo Dong’s wife returned to the fourth floor. As the flesh resentment room receded, Gao Ming’s heart suddenly palpitated. Somewhere in the distance, something was watching him, ready to assault him.
“Is it the gaze from the blood mist city? Will It increase the chance of them attacking me whenever I summon the God of Flesh and Blood out of the torture room..?” Gao Ming was done being worried about fate, so he didn’t think about this too much.
“Come with me for now.” Gao Ming waded through the pool water. After the God of Flesh and Blood enslaved Nian Yu, it meant that he had issued a challenge to the mud figurine inside the building. However, the figurine didn’t seem to notice them. Instead, it was focused on something else.
Gao Ming took out the death portrait of the big dog. After sensing his general location, he led Luo Dong’s wife to the fifth floor. Gao Ming destroyed the fourth floor. All the machines stopped working. The pool cracked, and water flowed everywhere. The effects of the dead were left at the bottom of the pool.
There was an inconspicuous nutrient room at the end of the pool. Manager Nian seemed to spend a lot of her time there. She left in a hurry because some files were left there.
“Food dispensary form?”
Gao Ming skimmed through it. The monsters in the building could be split into four categories: humans, dogs, beasts and monsters. Humans were at the bottom. Most humans died as they transformed into dogs. There were only a few that could reach the level of beasts. There were only four, including Nian Yu.
The former shadow world was extremely large. There were many different kinds of faith. Each of the Li San Hospital’s mud figurines could be used to represent a complete faith system. Gao Ming couldn’t imagine how such a powerful world would end up in destruction.
Holding the files, Gao Ming and Luo Dong’s wife came to the fifth floor. This was where they manufactured pet products. It was built like a theme park. Strange toys and chains were placed along the corridors.
“Based on the sizes, these toys are meant for humans,” Gao Ming picked up a random metallic helmet. Other than that, there were beds with bindings, custom bodysuits and other adult ‘toys’.
“Humans are humans because we can control our beastial desires…” Gao Ming held the helmet and studied the blood and skin inside the helmet.
“However, all the toys here are made by humans. What do you have to say to that?” A peal of laughter echoed among the piles of toys. The toys rolled to the ground. Her black hair flowed down her shoulders. Her buttons were undone. The dim lights accentuated her beauty.
“Were you the one who killed my silly little brother?” Manager Nian put on her glasses as she sat on the swaying wooden horse. The muscles of her calves tightened as her body swayed with the wooden horse.
“Nian Xin?” Gao Ming noticed the personalities of the siblings were wildly different. “You didn’t seem to mind that your brother was turned into a monster.”
“Of course. It was me who personally transformed him into that form.” Nian Xin hugged the horse’s head. “My brother was clever, cute, kind and beautiful. Everyone loved him.”
“Did you harm him because of envy?” Luo Dong’s wife felt chilled. She was as old as Manager Nian, but she couldn’t understand the woman at all.
“There was no envy. I merely hate fakeness. Why would a stupid child know how to listen to orders? He was merely suppressing his true self to create a fake persona that Father and Mother liked.” Manager Nian’s face slowly approached the wooden horse’s body. She bit on her full lips. “Compared to humans, I prefer animals. Do not think that I was tormented when I was young. There is no need to psychoanalyse me. In reality, everyone loved me. My parents, little brother, teacher, colleagues, and all of my ex-boyfriends.”
“Then, how could you do these things?” Luo Dong’s wife regretted it immediately. She was worried that she’d bring trouble to Gao Ming.
“I have a pair of ears that are extremely sensitive to people’s true thoughts and feelings.” Manager Nian’s hands around the horse’s neck started to apply pressure, “I could hear the inner voices of every animal and human. Their love and respect hide extremely disgusting things. My parents loved me because they thought I was sick. My gentlemanly teacher only wanted to see me naked. The kind neighbour auntie called me a bitch behind my back. Even my lovely little brother sometimes thought I was an extra at home.” ṛä
“No wonder you love animals.” Luo Dong’s wife thought about, “Why didn’t you use your power for something else? Like winning at the casino?”
Manager Nian ignored Luo Dong’s wife. She looked at Gao Ming with blurry eyes. “I heard the voice in your heart when I was on the fourth floor. I know what you’re thinking.”
“Then, why don’t you run?” Gao Ming dropped the helmet and walked forward.
Manager Nian didn’t panic. Sweat poured out of her forehead as she stood up on tip-toe. Thin red scars appeared on her skin.
“Because my God wishes to speak with you.”
An unfamiliar voice came out of Manager Nian’s lips. The shadow flushed through the toys. The company employees crawled out from the toys. They wore collars around their necks, and their bodies mutated to various degrees. Most of them had lost their humanity.
The fifth-floor door slammed closed. A monster with deer antlers blocked the door. It dragged a huge iron cage as its body expanded.
The window near Manager Nian flew open. A sharp peak poked into the fifth floor. A strange bird with nine human heads hovered outside the window.
