Eion then called someone on his phone. I heard him muttering in annoyance, “That old man, tsk.” And after that call, the man from last night who drove us came fifteen minutes later.
"Sir Eion." He smiled at Eion. Eion just nodded his head.
He motioned for us to get inside and we did. We packed our things in the hotel, checked out for today, and off to another adventure.
The man who drove us since last night, and I assume as Eion's driver, drove us. It was an hour or so ago when we got stuck in traffic, waited in line with the other cars, and finally breathed in freshly when we reached the port or the barge one I don't know what it's called.
All I know is that the car should be transported across the other island, along with the other cars in line, with us inside. The driver said that it was called a barge or ferry…
I furrowed at this, "But where are we going?" I asked. Do we have to really take this? Maybe there's a bridge somewhere to go and drive through.
"To Samal Island, ma'am. We need to be transported in order to reach across us. See that island over there? That's Samal Island." He told us. I nodded my head, looking around in panic.
I was panicking. What if it will sink? Is this too deep to swim? Do I know how to swim? We should get outside to escape quickly!
All the time, I was in discomfort, praying, and mumbling about "Hey! Stop that, we're going to be okay. It's not that scary, I mean look around Snow, it's beautiful!" Luke exclaimed. I did as he said. He pinched my cheeks, "You're so cute."
"It's not funny Luke," I warned, glaring at him.
I know I'm overreacting but it's my first time. I felt the car and closed my eyes. We were supposed to be transported? How? I think it was not moving at all. Opening my eyes, I noticed we were moving slowly. I guess Luke's right after all.
It didn't take long but ten minutes later, we were all transferred to another island along with our car.
"What is this place again?" Emma asked as we reached the port.
"I don't know but I think it was called Samal Island..." Dax replied unsurely.
"That's right, Sir. A very tourist attraction. I'm sure you'll love this place." The driver said.
The driver drove and got us off from the barge and now driving through a normal road, much to my ease. There were a lot of tarpaulins and ads placed on the streets as we drove by, some welcoming the tourists, and some selling vacant resorts. We took a sharp turn to the left, and I noticed we were now driving through a province like an area.
"Don't worry, Sir and Maam, the people in this city are basically English speaking mixed Bisaya, another language in the Philippines. But, be careful, not all of them can speak English. Just the majority or so." The driver said.
"Is this island still part of the city?" Leroy asked.
"I think...yes... It's just an island after all." Hannah replied.
We passed by a lot of resorts. Each and every one of them had unique names like Paradise Island, Pearl Farm, Bali-Bali, and some others I don’t know how to pronounce.
It was fifteen minutes when we finally reached our own destination.
"Cavanico." I read aloud the big sign of the board plastered at the entrance. I saw a few cars were angrily leaving. I furrowed. "Why are they leaving?"
"Them? Oh, maybe the resort's full now and they left. Everyone should reserve first before going since this resort is too famous and everyone can't get in from all the people." The driver replied.
Wow. Good thing it's Eion's resort. Wait, is this really theirs? No wonder his dad instantly booked a flight and paid everything for us. He has the power and the money after all.
We went inside. There was a big penthouse or villa just in the woods and we settled in there. A few workers and staff are staring at us as we walk.
There are a lot of raves here in the city. Maybe I should have done a little research before everything, if only they told me this sooner I could have prepared my skills.
"You can all rest in this villa. This is Hudson's villa." Spoke the driver.
Eion sighed. "That man...he really plans everything..."
We settled in. But I left and went outside to venture. I asked them to come but they were too tired. I was too excited so I came alone.
I looked around, there were a lot of people, I see. So this is really that famous...I breathed in the air. The sand feels so soft. And the beach is just in my grasp! It's so blue!
There, just a few distances to my feet, everything’s so light and warm. The staff also are always smiling.
"Hello, maam!" A voice said. He has a uniform like the staff here.
"Uhm, hello.," I replied.
"Kaibigan po kayo ni Sir Eion?" He asked. I furrowed my eyebrows. What?
"Ay sorry ma'am." He cleared his throat. “Are you Sir Eion's....friend?" He said, a bit in difficulty.
I nodded my head then remembered Eion's lessons. I pulled out my phone and read, "Ako po si Snow Waterstrings." I said.
Then I forgot to ask what it's the Filipino of nice to meet you. Nevermind. "Nice to meet you po." I added a po since Eion said it's polite to do so.
He smiled politely. "I'm Mario. A worker here. Nice to meet you. Can you speak Filipino?"
"Not really. My friend Eion taught me a few." I said, mentioning Eion's name since he's the owner and they knew him.
"Oh so totoo pala ang balita...ang anak ni Aling Lena ay nandito na talga." (Oh so the news was true, Ms. Lena's son is really here.)
"Hm? Come again?"
"Nothing maam! Enjoy your stay here po! There's a lot of beautiful spots here, I'm sure po you'll love it!"
"Thank you! I will!"
"Hey." Eion's cool low voice said., approaching me. "Where are you off to? They were looking for you." He snorted. "Don't come anywhere alone. Always stick to the group next time, got that?"
