Judging from the bored look of my classmates, I could tell this period will be very exciting. Note the sarcasm.
Just like every transferee does, she called me to introduce myself and I stood up nervously as this is what made me very anxious the entire time.
I glanced at Emma, who was motioning me forward, encouraging me. I stood on the platform that was placed in front so that the teacher could see us all when she stood there. Mrs. Thompson fragilely nodded her head and took a deep breath.
"Hi, I am Leizel Snow Waterstrings...16..and I uh…we just moved here in Springfield last month." I started. After saying things about me, Mrs. Thompson motioned for me to sit and started telling the Dos and don'ts and regulations of the school. I listened intently, I even took out my notebook and pen to jot down notes.
In my second class, I found out that Hannah is in the same class as me which made me very happy. We gushed and talked about everything when the teacher arrived. He introduced himself as Mr. Wilson before telling me to introduce himself. After saying the words, he started discussing something. Thankfully, my mind was working clearly, and understood the lesson.
In the third period, I entered the chemistry class and was surprised to see Dax and Leroy. Well, what a small world, I guess.
Leroy was the first one to notice me from the door. "Look! It's Snow!" He exclaimed towards Dax.
"Oh hey there Snow!" Dax waved.
They both motioned for me to come. I smiled at them and waved back, causing the students to turn and look at me. My face flushed and I quickly walked towards their seats because I was still standing in the doorway.
"I didn't expect you guys to be in the same class as me!" I said once I was seated beside Dax which was in the third row of seats. They were both beaming at me. Perhaps the universe loves me today that I was in the same classes as my friends.
"We didn't neither," Leroy replied. We discussed it for a few minutes before the teacher walked in, and called me out. I stood up and did as she told, kind of getting sick with the introduction. Nevertheless, I walked towards the platform in front and starter to talk about myself. After introducing myself, I went to my seat beside Dax and they high-fived me.
I listen so hard to the lecture even though the boys beside me were doing stupid things. After staring at the clock several times, the dismissed time finally arrived. The bell rang and it's time for lunch. I arranged my things and walked with the guys to the door. I saw Luke in the hallway, waiting for us.
"So, how is it so far?" He asked once and the boys walked towards him. They give each other weird bro hugs.
"So far... It's good... I guess." I said. He just chuckled and we went to the cafeteria. We met Eion in the hallway and he joined the group. On our way there, I noticed people staring at us... no...
They are staring at me. Probably they were just curious. Luke seemed to notice it also because he placed his arm around me in a protective.
"It's not every year that someone transfers here. Especially a beautiful girl." Luke explained and my face flushed. Hiding my face from him, we arrived at the cafeteria and sat on a bench waiting for the girls. We left our bag on our table to let them know that this table is already occupied and stood up and went to the counter to get food.
After ordering our food, we returned to our table. The rectangular steel table with a bench was enough for us. Dax was facing me from the other side of the table. Luke was seated beside me, facing Leroy that was seated beside Dax. And Eion was seated on the right side of Dax. While the boys were talking, I took it as a chance to examine the place.
The busy cafeteria was filled with many benches and tables. The lady servers over the counter were dashing around frantically, busy serving the students. The aroma of steak and salad is lingering in the air.
Trash cans are placed in corners. The chattering of the students echoed throughout the cafeteria, probably talking about their day or some gossip.
Different types of people are here. Few students prefer to sit alone in a corner, happy to be with themselves only. Some lonely people also sit alone, staring weirdly at a certain thing like it's the most interesting thing in the world.
Others are with their groups, like us, laughing and talking loudly. It wasn't like in the movies where jocks are bullying the nerds, in fact, I saw a jock with his friend nerd earlier, laughing and teasing each other.
Minutes had passed until I spotted Emma and Hannah on the door, searching for us, I instantly perked up and waved my hands for them to see us. Noticing me, they quickly walked towards our table and we ate.
Before we knew it, the bell rang and it was time for classes. I quickly sip my pineapple juice and dump it into the trash can.
"See you later guys!" Leroy exclaimed.
"See ya!"
With that, we then parted ways. Having the same class with Luke, we both turned left to go to the fifth period. Hours passed with me introducing myself the start of the period. At last, the last period came. Literature. I sighed in relief. My eyes are drooping from tiredness and there's nothing that I want right now except to lay in my soft, bouncy bed and hibernate. My daydreams of finally getting in my soft mattress vanished at the sight of something. Or someone.
A boy with black hair and green eyes entered the room. Of course, it was the robot, Eion.
He was wearing his dark navy blue shirt and denim jeans. His backpack was slung on his right shoulders and as usual, his expressionless face was plastered on his face. Scanning the room, he heads to the back of the class.
As he was walking, his gaze lingered on me longer than necessary, looking at me like he could see through my soul. I suddenly felt a bit self-conscious and uncomfortable with his stare so I averted my gaze to the ground.
I noticed his usual glare wasn't present. Just in time, the teacher walked in. She introduced herself as Mrs. Johnson called me to introduce myself also since I was a new student. I stood up then headed in front where a platform was.
As I started introducing myself for the sixth time today, I couldn't help but glance a few times in Eion's direction.
