"Snow...." My mom said in a sing-song voice when I arrived at the kitchen to have breakfast after a few days.
"Hmmm?" I replied sleepily then sat down beside Nathan. It was a Monday morning. I was half-asleep, my eyes half-closed. My hair was sticking in different directions. Scratching my head, I lean my head on my arm, yawning.
"Guess what?" I heard my mom asking. I could see from my line of vision that mom has a big smile on her face, a sign that she'll tell me something important.
"What?" I asked sleepily.
"It's the Anastolgia High! The results arrived this morning."
I was scratching my neck when it hit me. My eyes instantly opened and I jolted awake, almost falling from the counter.
As if reading my mind, she quickly said, "it’s on the table in the living room, I haven't read it yet." Until now her huge smile was still plastered on her face. I nodded and hurriedly went to the living room. Every step I take, my heart beats faster.
What if I didn't pass it?

Several what-ifs are running in my head. But there's only one way to find out. And that paper is the key. I mustered up all the courage I had and grabbed the envelope from the table.
My breath hitched, opening the envelope.
"Did you read it?" I stopped when I heard my mom asking from the doorway.
“I was about to, mom," I said.
"Oh shush. You're so slow. Here, I'll be the one to read it." She said excitedly then grabbed the envelope from me. She spoke aloud words and I couldn't comprehend due to my nervousness.
"What?" I asked as she finished reading it. Mom had this solemn expression plastered on her face that I hate to see right now.
"Well?" I asked.
"Snow.... It's okay... I guess it's just that you are slowly adjusting but....."
"Mom! What is it?" I asked in a desperate voice.
Her solemn expression turned into a wide grin. "Congratulations! You have been accepted to Anastolgia High!" She boomed. It took seconds for me to comprehend.
"I did?" I asked.
"Yes! And look, in the envelope was attached your scores! Hmm.... As usual, your scores are high." She said, I grab it and read it carefully. Gosh, mom wasn't really joking! I sighed in relief, now beaming at her.
"But you said earlier I wasn't!" I said.
"Well, I was telling the opposite because you were really nervous... Did you even believe me earlier?" she inquired, chuckling.
I rolled my eyes, "Yes. Oh, how could I forget, you're an actress."
She chuckled at that."I think we should throw a party." She said out of nowhere.
"What? Party? Why?" I looked at her incredulously.
She looked at me like I was the one unusual. "Why not?"
"Because it really wasn't an occasion worth celebrating for." I reasoned.
"Okay, then suppose it’s not about that... How about we'll eat outside for dinner? Just as a family?" She suggested, and I nodded at that. "Sounds good."
"Then rest up, I'll go tell Nathan about it okay?"
I nodded, "Yes, mom. I'll just inform my friends that I passed the exam. They are also nervous like me."
Just then, mom looked like she had just thought of something brilliant, "Oh, speaking of that. If you want you can invite your friends to eat with us! In that way, while it's our family bonding, I can get to know them."
"Really? Thanks, mom!" I said excitedly and immediately ran up to my room. Grabbing my phone, I texted Hannah and Emma about the results and they were happy about it. I invited them for dinner, thankfully they agreed. I decided to call Luke and I dialed his number and pressed the call.
After a second of ringing, he picked up. "Hey." His raspy voice said. Was he sleeping?
"Hey Luke, it's me, Snow."
"Oh hey, Snow!" I heard shuffling from the other line, I could tell he was wide awake now with the enthusiasm in his voice.
"Are you sleeping? Sorry, I disturbed you." I said.
"No, it's okay. Besides, who wouldn't want to hear his future girlfriend's voice first thing in the morning?"
He responded, and I tried to tease him, "Luke, it's already noon.”
"Oh." He stopped, I could tell he checked the time, and seeing that it was still 10 in the morning, he continued. "Haha, very funny, Snow. Very funny.” He then cleared his throat, “Anyways, who cares about the time? My point is, I’m just happy that the first sound I heard was my future girlfriend's voice." He said proudly and I could tell he was smirking right now.
"What makes you say that I want to be your girlfriend?" I said, teasing him some more.
"Then why are you blushing?" He said, chuckling. What? How did he know? I quickly checked my window if he was on the outside but no, he wasn't.
"How did I know? Hmmm...Well, it's so obvious from your silence even from another planet the aliens would know. And two, I know you, you always blush even hearing my voice." He said after minutes of silence. My jaw dropped, at how accurate his words were. Is he a mind reader or something? A psychic? I chuckled.
"Wait... First, I was not blushing." I defended myself. "And second, Luke, I think you should visit a doctor to check if you’re a psychic. You're scary sometimes, you know that?" I asked.
There was silence from the other line and I thought he hung up but I could still hear his breathing. Then a few moments passed before I heard his voice again, “Oh sorry, I just took care of something.” Sighing, he brought up something, "Snow, I have a secret...." His tone was serious, and this caught my attention.
"What?"
"You sure you won't tell anyone?" He asked, making sure of it.
"Okay?" My statement sounded like a question. "I won't tell anyone....now please, say it!" I said, now getting curious.
He took a deep breath before trailing off, "Snow... I have a secret ability..."
"What ability?" I asked.
"I have an ability.....of loving you." He said seriously.
