LUCIUS' POV.
I woke up feeling more troubled than I had been the previous night. I just wanted the events in my life to slow down a bit, not rush and choke me up.
Why did she decide to pester me after all this time? I got out of bed and decided to see her because I knew creatures like her thrived on deception. I only needed to give her a piece of me. But before I left to see her, I decided to check on Dusk.
After checking her favorite places without seeing her, I decided to check the garden as that was the last place I hadn't checked. Just as I had guessed, she was there, painting with Seline.
I smiled. She was so obsessed with painting. I turned around and went to the training grounds where my men were having their morning training.
When they saw me, they all bowed low.
"Good morning, Alpha Lucius," they greeted, and I smiled.
"Keep up the good work," I said and went to Marcus. "I trust Alpha Craig is long gone?" I asked him, and he nodded.
"Yes, Alpha," he replied.
"Get me a new bow and smooth arrows. I'll be spending some time in the forest today," I said, and he immediately went into the armory.
Shortly, he came back with arrows that had that brand new smell about them.
I took them and examined them.
"They'll do," I said and left for the woods.
I got to the woods and looked around, trying to find my way back to that little river, but I didn't need to try hard. It was as though my legs knew the way themselves.
After walking for about half an hour, the places began to look really familiar.
Then I saw the little river. But now that I saw it, it was more of a big pond to me, but it still had that clear blue color.
"Let's talk," I said, but no response came.
"If it was really you in my dreams, show yourself now because once I leave, I'm not returning here," I said, and there was a soft rustling breeze.
"You came here because you do believe the dream," the soft voice said.
"If the dream is real, then I'm here to tell you to stop. You'll benefit nothing from it," I said, and the voice laughed softly.
"I can't stop now; my girl is in your castle, and she's trying to decide which person she'd prefer to take," the voice said, and I moved closer to the water.
"If I find your girl anywhere near my castle, I'm going to rip off her throat," I said, and in a bolt, water shot up, forming the body of the woman.
But I didn't flinch, nor did I move back.
"Rip off her throat and you'll experience the fullness of my wrath," she said, and I smirked.
"Is all this really because of a rabbit?" I asked, and she smiled.
"When your men were killed, you wanted revenge. One out of the animals I watch over was killed, and I want a life in exchange for its life. I gave you a chance, but you ruined it. Your father is dead; his life is gone, so give me back my life!" She said, and I laughed.
"I'm dangerous," I said, and she smirked.
"You're just a wolf. I know what I do to you pesky little wolves," she said, and I brought out my claws only for her to turn back into water with a haunting laugh.

I left the place angrily, walking without even looking at the places I passed. It was only when I bumped into someone that I looked up. It was Dusk.
“What are you doing here?” I asked her, and she gave a little smile.
“You came to the garden earlier, so I assumed you wanted to say something. I tried finding you and asked Marcus, so he told me. You went hunting, and naturally, I know you hunt when you have a lot on your mind, so I felt curious.” She said, and I smiled.
“I didn’t have a lot on my mind this time around; I just felt a bit stressed out.” I said, and she nodded.
“Are you leaving now, or do you want to stay a while?” She asked, and I looked up at a tall tree.
“I think we’d see the whole of my Kingdom from up here.” I said, and she looked up at it.
“You want us to climb?” She asked, going to one of the branches.
“Sure.” I replied, and just as I had thought, we were able to see the Kingdom from up there.
“it is beautiful.” She said, and I smiled.
“You didn’t write in a request. Why?” I asked because she was the only one out of the people who fought the war that didn’t write a request.
“Well, I don’t really want much, I’m fine just as I am. Maybe someday, I’ll have a request.” She said, and I nodded.
“Your pack, they never asked of you once? Sent letters or anything?” I asked, and she sighed.
“They’re probably very happy I left. I doubt anyone remembers me; I was a disgrace. I’m still going to go back and show them what I’ve become.” She said, and for the first time, I felt for her.
She looked at me, and I caught a glimpse of tears in her eyes, and that led to a kiss, right there on the tree. We kissed for a while, and things were really getting more intense when a big black bird suddenly flew across the trees, startling us.

DUSK’S POV
I heard my name from the thick trees next to the garden, and I looked in that direction.
I heard my name once again, and I walked to the trees, slowly.
“Dusk…” The name whispered, and I continued walking.
“Who’s there?” I asked, but no reply came back.
I went deeper into the trees and saw a lady with long black hair.
“Dusk…”
