Chapter 213: The Locked Past [2]
Sophia and Tyler were sitting on a small bench beside a small river. They spent their free time here, chatting, bickering, and relaxing every day on the way home from school, with Sophia especially wanting to spend more time with him.
“What happened again?” she noticed, her sombre mood.
She contemplated to herself, as if debating whether to tell him or not. Something rarely ever happened; she would instantly notice if anyone tried to approach her, so she didn’t know why. Or how was it that she had not sensed the boy coming close to her like that?
Now that she thought about it, the same thing had happened originally back then. This same boy had grabbed her hand in the same way, but back then, she had been more frightened than disgusted. She had come crying to Tyler. Thankfully, not long after, the boy transferred to another school due to his parents’ business-related reasons. So, the problem would have been solved on its own, but she still felt utterly revolted that some other man had touched her.
Tyler slapped her in the back and said admonishingly, “Say it, stop using too much of that slow brain of yours, you’re already too dumb as it is.”
“Ouch.” She let out a cruel screech and glared at him, rubbing her back. “This dumb girl comes first in the whole school in her class every time. While your smart ass can barely get in the top 10.”
Tyler shook his head and sneered, “You’re only smart in studies; otherwise, you’re dumb. And the fact that you don’t even realise that you’re dumb makes you even dumber?”
“You bastard.” She instantly became enraged and started punching his back, and those punches from her small, frail hands actually hurt.
After letting out her anger, she sat down with a sigh, and there was silence for a moment. Tyler didn’t say anything to her either, letting her speak at her own pace. Eventually, she said, while showing her right palm, “A boy touched my hand.”
She lingered for a bit and added, “You know I utterly abhor it when anyone touches me. Especially any male.”
Tyler raised an eyebrow at that and asked, “Who? Who was it?”
She looked at him, and a trace of disappointment flashed through her eyes, seeing no reaction in him, “Jake Parker.”
Axel hummed thoughtfully, “Oh, isn’t he one of your so-called future fiancé candidates, your parents mentioned?”
She nodded with a visible effort, increasingly displeased by how casually he took it; perhaps she was the one who was overreacting. But then, Tyler grabbed her right hand and intertwined his fingers with hers. She was stunned at first, but her fingers moved on their own, unknowingly. As their hands firmly locked together, she looked at him with wide eyes.
He stated in an amusing tone, looking her in the eyes, “Hm, you don’t get disgusted when I touch you .”
She remained baffled and caught off guard entirely. She replied unconsciously, “Because you’re my childhood friend, so no…”
Tyler asked her, leaning a bit closer, “That’s it?”
They both stared into each other’s eyes, and for a moment, a weird tension hung between them. Sophia had the impulse to say something, but her throat went dry, and she was unable to speak. What was wrong with this guy all of a sudden? He wasn’t supposed to say something like that, or do something .
Axel chuckled and let go of her hand as he stood up, “All right, let’s go.”
She took a few moments to recollect herself, and said something to shift the awkward mood between them, “Hey, didn’t you say you’re an expert hacker? Can’t you hack into his social accounts or something?”
Tyler laughed, “It doesn’t work like that, Pinkus. Don’t worry, just let a few days pass, you’ll forget it on your own.”
A few days later, after the exam, she was leaving her classroom when Jake did not bother her further, having been warned by her that he had barely tapped into her bloodlust. She went out, expecting Tyler to be waiting for her on the way or at the school gate. However, he was nowhere to be seen. She asked one of his classmates about it, but they said he had left quite a while ago, finishing the exam long before anyone else.
For a moment, she suddenly became worried; he would always wait for her or let her know if he had something else to do. She began to search every corner of the school, even asking the teachers for help, but they were of no assistance. Some boys offered to help her, but she didn’t even respond to them.
Eventually, at one corner, where the school delinquents congregated, she heard muffled screaming noises and immediately ran there. But what she saw there made her… shudder and step backwards unconsciously; she immediately hid herself behind a wall.
She took another peek at what was happening there, her body trembling. Tyler’s fists and hands were all bloody. Tyler was beating someone up with a furious expression on his face, and it was that boy Jake. Tyler was beating him so severely that Jake’s teeth had broken, his face was all bloody and disfigured.
More than that, a few other boys who were like underlings of Jake were standing there watching and doing nothing. As Jake was being beaten to almost death, it didn’t make sense. Now that she thought about it, Jake had also left the exam hall quite soon. The teacher mocked him after he left the exam hall, saying he had barely written anything and would definitely fail.
There was so much blood there, and she had never once seen Tyler that furious, never once in her life, she who knew him the most. Why was he doing that? His hands must be hurting like hell, but he was still punching the boy. This situation didn’t make sense. Could it be that he was doing this for … her?
She peeked back one more time, and blood had splattered all over his face and hands. Oh, there seems to be one more person whom he had beaten up before Jake. That person appears to be in an even worse state. But looking at his menacing visage, she should be afraid, scared, and try to stop him; otherwise, he would be in serious trouble.
Yet…..yet…..why was she smiling like that? Why did it make her so happy, seeing him like that? The only thought that went through her head was, ‘So cool, so handsome, so manly and dashing.’
Tyler suddenly stopped, he huffed as if out of breath and stated to Jake who was barely conscious, “I have all of your secret videos and records of all the dirty shit that you did, and your parents as well. If you don’t fucking change this school within 2 weeks max, you, your family and the business you guys own, you’re all fucked.
“Don’t worry, I’ve also spoken to your parents directly. What will be the price if they don’t listen to my demands? It will be everything.”
He then stomped his foot on Jake’s face and added with a chilling fury,
“I swear in the name of your dog parents that if you EVER touch her ever again, and your parents try anything funny. Even if my life goes to shit.”
“I… WILL KILL YOU.. All.”
Sophia, who was hiding behind a wall, heard this, and her smile became so wide that it was more than unnatural; she had to cover her mouth with both hands. Still, she felt a sweet sensation inside, just the thought of Tyler killing that bastard, just for her sake, was so so tantalising for her, as her eyes overflowed with boundless possessive desire for him; her heart trembled in excitement for the only man she ever loved and ever would.
