King Kai pov
When I here my wife voice it was like I was waking up from a spell.
"Noelani?!" I said, but no answer came from her. My eyes found her face and I could see the pain in her beautiful silver eyes. So full of mixed emotions; pain and betrayal were the dominant ones. And my heart hurt so much seeing her like that, that I was afraid it will stop any second now.
She rushes out and when I start going after her a hand grab mine stopping me."My King do you feel well? You look so pale? It's there anything I can do for you?". It was Tal, asking me.
I was so confused now. I haven't seen her there before. All I could think now it's the pain in my beautiful wife's eyes. The betrayal. I couldn't understand why? What did I do?
'Kai?Why?How could you do this to me and our unborn child?' her voice resonated in mai head.
I finally run after her when a loud explosion drag me back to reality from my thoughts? only to see her legs buckling and in a second she fell to the floor.
"Noelani! Noo!" I scream as there was another explosion. This time bigger and closer.
My eyes were burning my skin was red and sore. All I heard were people's screaming. I wanted to get to Noelani, my Noelani, but there were flames everywhere now.
I tried to fight the flames with the help of my element; water. But to no avail. The flames were too big, everything was burnt to the ground already.
"My King! Your Majesty, we need to get out of here now! It isn't safe! Come, Your Majesty! I'll get you out of here!" came Egon rough
voice.
"Egon! No, wait! Noelani !" I said as I was pointing to where I last saw her."We need to help her! We need to save my wife and my unborn child! "
"Your Majesty, there's no time! I need to get you out of here! There's nothing we can do for the Queen now. You are the King, your people need you! We can't lose both our Queen and King! please Sire!"He said with saddens in his voice, seeing the flames devastating everything in their path.
With tears streaming down my face and with my heart shattered from the loss of both my wife and child, I followed Egon. As soon as I step outside the burning building, Tal hurried to me.
"Your Majesty! I'm so sorry for your loss !" she said hugging me while the flames swallowed the whole building.
I let her comfort me as I couldn't move even if I wanted to.
Today I lost a part of me! Today I lost my heart and my soul!
When the tears stopped I open my eyes and all I could see was red! The anger in me was growing as I watched the flames ." Flames.." I thought. "Fire! The Fire Kingdom will gonna pay for this! This is their fault! "
"My King we need to go! It's not safe! We don't know who was behind this. What if this was a very well planned attack? I'm sorry Your Majesty that I wasn't able to defend the Queen !"
At the mention of Noelani, my blood started to boil! All I could feel was anger!
People have gathered around in the centre of The Market. Everyone was crying. Some spilling tears of joy as they found their family to be well and others for the loss of their beloved.
"King Kai!" as I turn to see the owner of the voice, I feel my blood going up to my head. King Uri, the Fire King was calling me.
"You murderer !" I scream as my hands were moving on their own. I saw his eyes widening as I send an ice arrow straight to his heart. But in the last second Queen Cyra stepped in front of him and her lips let out a scream of agony as the arrow pierced her heart. Another Queen was dead.
Behind her King Uri was silent. I didn't understand why till I saw them both collapse on the ground. One in the arms of the other. Both dead...The arrow killed them both. Screamings fill the air! People were running in panic everywhere. But I couldn't move I was frozen. I had no remorse for what I've done. I could say I envied them. Together in life and together in death. I wish I could be dead. I should be dead! I should be with my Noelani!
I saw Egon running to my side."My King, we should go!"
"We should indeed, Egon! The war has begun! The Fire Kingdom will fall! "I said still watching the Queen and King unmoving bodies.
"The war has begun.." I whisper.
I got in the car with Egon and Tal. We didn't find Mira, and as I know she was always by the Queenside, I presumed si is also dead.
In the flames' place was now only ashes...
The 8 hours trip back to my Kingdom didn't do anything to help with the pain in my heart.
I stepped out of my car and went to my office. I pour some whisky into a glass and drink it in one shot. Then put another and another till I lost count...
I was waking up by o knock on the door.
"Come in, "I said as I pour another glass of whisky. I noticed 2 empty bottles next to my desk.
"My King! "Tal said with a bowing. "You shouldn't drink that much! It's not good for you! Let me take care of you!" she said as she starting to massage my tense shoulders. Tal was the daughter of one of my father's best friends. Both of her parents died in an accident when she was just 3.So my father took her under his wing. We grew up like brothers. I could trust her with my life.
So I allowed her to massage me. Her hands worked magic as after few minutes if
could feel the sleep overcome me.
"My Kai," she said, but I didn't react, she called me like that sometimes when we were younger, so I didn't bother to say something.
"We should get you to your chamber my King"
I allowed her to help me get up and she helped me undress and tucked me in the bed. I felt the bed dipping next to me but I was too exhausted to react...My eyelids closed and all I could see was darkness...
