The Colosseum was abuzz as thousands of spectators focused on the enlarged screen displaying the Earth Team's battle within the Reality Emulator. Though a hundred smaller screens displayed other teams' progress, nearly everyone's attention was glued to the Earth Team.
The Tournament Manager, Wibbit, had highlighted their screen again, and no one objected. The difference was stark—the most competent teams were still struggling with the 6th Monster Wave, while the Earth Team was battling the 15th Wave.
The challenge in Round-2 was straightforward but grueling: face waves of 100 monsters, with each successive wave increasing in strength by one phase. At present, the Earth Team was confronting a hundred Tier-5 High-Phase monsters.
None of Jay's teammates made a move against the monsters. Even if they wanted to, they couldn't make a meaningful dent against enemies that so vastly outclassed them.
For the first nine waves, the team had managed without Jay's assistance, focusing on clearing monsters below Tier-4 while aiming for the bonus awarded for finishing within five seconds. From the 10th to the 12th Waves, Jay joined in, ensuring they achieved the time bonus.
However, from the 15th Wave onward, their contributions had become negligible. The monsters were now Tier-5, far beyond their abilities, and Jay had taken full responsibility for the battles.
In a flash of azure light, Jay streaked across the barren battlefield, decimating all 100 monsters in just two seconds.
As the 15th Monster Wave came to an end and the 10-minute break commenced, Jay ceased using Pseudo-Speed Energy and turned to his team. "Starting with the next wave, we'll be facing Tier-6 monsters. I suggest you all exit now. They'll be beyond what you can handle."
This time, Henry spoke up. "We know we can't put up a fight against Tier-6 monsters, but we want to see their strength for ourselves."
He then added, "Stay further back and stick together. I'll be going all out this time—I don't want to miss the bonus."
As Jay announced his intent to clear the upcoming wave within five seconds, his teammates widened their eyes in shock.
A hundred Tier-6 Low-Phase monsters under five seconds? Even for someone as powerful as Jay, the idea seemed far-fetched. Yet, none of them dismissed the possibility outright—after all, this was Jay they were talking about.
Under their watchful gaze, Jay stepped further away, activating INVERSE Mode. This time, he didn't use║Scale Flux║to reduce his size. Instead, he allowed his body to grow rapidly, towering higher with each passing second.
Their expressions shifted from surprise to sheer disbelief as Jay's form expanded, shadowing everything around him. Ten meters… twenty meters… thirty meters… until finally, he stopped at an astounding 56 meters.
The transformation was agonizing. Jay's║Physical Pain Resistance║skill leveled up multiple times in quick succession as he endured the excruciating process. Unable to hold it back, he unleashed a primal roar that reverberated through the barren battlefield, shaking the very air around him.
When the pain subsided, Jay stood still for a moment, adjusting to his new, gargantuan size. He glanced down, his enormous eyes catching sight of his teammates. To him, they looked no bigger than insects.
The last time Jay had attempted such a transformation was during a training session with Dante, where he had grown to a modest 12 meters. Now, he was five times that size.
The key difference lay in his INVERSE Mode stats: every thousand total stat points added ten feet to his height, and with his current total of 18,675, he had become a towering titan standing 186 feet (~56 meters) tall.
The Earth's Alpha Chosen stared up at him, awestruck and speechless. Their amazement was mirrored by the Colosseum audience, who watched in stunned silence as Jay's massive form loomed on the enlarged screen.
Then, the 16th Monster Wave began.
A hundred Tier-6 monsters emerged onto the battlefield, each one between 10 to 15 meters tall. Compared to Jay, they were like toddlers facing a adult.
Jay didn't resort to complex attacks or maneuvers. Instead, he relied on sheer brute force. With devastating efficiency, he stomped through the battlefield, his massive feet crushing the monsters beneath him.
To amplify the damage, Jay employed the Momentary Materialization Technique, forming sharp Origin Energy spikes beneath his feet just as they made contact with his enemies. The combination of his immense size and the energy spikes delivered catastrophic blows.
Most of the monsters exploded into gory fragments from a single stomp, their massive forms crumbling under the impact. A few managed to endure a stomp or two but succumbed to repeated strikes in quick succession.
The battle was over almost as quickly as it began. Despite their attempts to track the action, the Colosseum spectators could barely follow the speed and ferocity of Jay's movements.
In the end, only one fact stood out clearly to everyone: the monsters in the 16th Wave had been obliterated in just three seconds.
The trend continued with the 17th Monster Wave, where Jay faced a hundred Tier-6 Mid-Phase monsters. This time, it took him nine seconds to defeat them all.
While he didn't earn the coveted double bonus for finishing within five seconds, there was still a bonus for clearing the wave in under ten seconds.
Meanwhile, the Earth's Alpha Chosen, despite their best efforts to flee or avoid attention from the monsters, were all eliminated. Jay had done his best to draw the monsters' aggression away from them, but the overwhelming difference in stats was insurmountable.
The team members came to a sobering realization: the strength gap between them and Tier-6 monsters was astronomical. What stayed with them even more was the sheer power Jay had displayed. Watching him unleash a one-sided massacre etched an unforgettable image in their minds.
They recalled the time Jay had entered INVERSE Mode to deal with the thousands of Alpha Chosen possessed by Urzo.
At that time, it had seemed like an overwhelming feat, but now they understood Jay had held back significantly. If he had grown to the size he was now, he could have crushed the attackers as effortlessly as squashing insects.
The audience, too, shared this realization. Their already high opinion of Jay soared even further as they finally grasped the true meaning of peak Tier-6 strength.
What they didn't know, however, was the critical role of Origin Energy in Jay's performance. Its unique properties—able to pierce through elements, Auras, and even physical defenses like they were nothing—made his attacks devastatingly effective.
This time, Jay didn't skip the 10-minute break. Instead, he rested, letting his array of stamina regeneration skills restore him. But he didn't let the time go to waste. While his body recovered, Jay cultivated Origin Physique.
Being in INVERSE Mode made refining his body with Origin Energy ten times more efficient. In the span of those ten minutes, he completed 10 refinement cycles, integrating 10 looted stats across all five of his main attributes in his STATUS.
When the break ended, Jay put his cultivation on hold and prepared for the next wave—the 18th Monster Wave.
A hundred Tier-6 High-Phase monsters, each at Level 500, charged toward him from all directions. Their sheer power and numbers made them a far greater challenge.
Jay knew this wave would be significantly harder to clear. Yet, he also knew it wasn't impossible. Steeling himself, he prepared to use every ability at his disposal to ensure victory.
The audience in the Colosseum leaned forward in anticipation, waiting to see how Jay would handle the 18th Monster Wave.
